Oh really? I'll have to keep that in mind. I haven't had a pair of rainboots since I was a little kid, but I've been wanting a pair for a few years now. I just can't justify the purchase much since I hardly go out in the rain. But hey, I'm starting college this fall, I'll have class rain or shine. That ought to justify some cute boots, eh? They'd be good for gardening, too. Easy to wash the dirt off of and that.

Yeah, college was pretty much when I got my first pair, once I moved off-campus and the walk was longer than my shoes could hold to in the rain. Maybe I just don't know how to put them on right, but I always get my heel stuck in the ankle of them trying to get them on. I don't have trouble getting them off though. o3o

Yeah, it was the same with those sandals. They slipped right off without a fight. I think it has a lot to do with getting the wider (or in the case of your rain boots, longer) parts of your foot through areas of the shoe that are contoured for thinner (or shorter) parts. It makes sense, but it still seems a bit like the shoe is contracting and expanding to spite you.

Stupid feet. Hard to draw, hard to put shoes onto...

And they're not too pretty, either! My poor mother inherited some bad foot genes from her father. I was lucky enough to not get that myself, but my feet still look ugly. Very bony and veiny, and they tend to turn weird colors sometimes. >> Honestly, trying on those sandals was a huge step for me. I haven't worn an open toed shoe in 6 years or so. My feet aren't even bad compared to the average person's. My toenails aren't thick, I keep them trimmed and tidy, I keep dead skin from building up on my heels, etc. Feet are just kinda weird.

My feet were lovely for the past few years... and then I started playing sports again. The very first day I played futsal, I managed to irreparably damage my big toe nails and a few months after that they fell off. Now nine months later, my nails are still ugly but at least they cover my whole toe again. I'm hoping that by the end of the year they will look fairly normal again.

/gross talk about feet

Aww man, that sucks. :( I'm lucky enough to have never had a nail fall off. The idea makes me both squeamish and morbidly curious for it to happen to me. Also, afraid of it getting ingrown. I don't even want to think about what would happen if it started to ingrow halfway in. :gonk: My nails... definitely want to become ingrown. Every now and then I'll notice them poking horribly at some part of my toe. The top of my toe is kind of... puffy? so there's plenty of skin there for the nail to try get into. I'm pretty good at fixing the situation, though, and I've never had it get so serious that a pair of nail clippers and a few days of healing couldn't fix it.

See, I can do gross feet talk too, it's okay. This is a safe place.

Lol, well I've never lost a nail before so I'm a bit concerned that the one on my left foot especially hasn't grown back correctly. Since I still play futsal every week, I think frequent stomping around/being stomped on isn't really a good recipe for healthy toenail recuperation. I'm a bit shy about wearing sandals now though, which is a shame since the weather has been nice for it lately.

Well, how often do you examine other people's feet? I say I can't stand when people have unkempt feet, but honestly, I don't ever notice but once in a while. I'm sure you'd be fine wearing sandals. After all, it's not as if you could help your toenail growing back incorrectly. It's not as if you're just too lazy to file off some dead skin or something, there isn't much you can do about your nail.

Yeah, it just got crushed again so it looks funny and will eventually (I hope) grow back normally. My right big toenail is funky on the end, but looks like it's coming in normally after that. I actually need to go find some new sandals since my old favorite pair broke (it had a zipper in the back that snapped). I just have trouble finding shoes in my size here. =/ Especially not cute looking ones.

Augh, yeah, sandals have such a short life, and it's stupidly hard to find cute ones. All the ones I ever see are either completely insane and ugly, trashy, or clunky and frumpy. Partly why I was like "HOLY CRAP, GOTTA TRY THIS ON" when I saw those cute sandals the other day.

Good luck finding a pair you like in your size! And really, when I talk about ugly feet it's mostly a self-conscious thing. I'm much harsher on myself than I am on other people. Like I said, I don't even notice other people's feet unless they've got neon shoes or something. So don't worry about people noticing your nails.

@Cherry: That's how it is sometimes. ^^; I can't stand a lot of what's considered fashionable these days. Have you tried shopping online for cute sandals?

Hi Alex! Cherry's a cat lover from what I know, so I don't think you need to worry. xP

I hate wearing shoes. I wear flip-flops whenever I can get away with it. And barefoot whenever I'm indoors.

I mostly love my feet. No one really ever told me how to care for my toenails so I'm pretty sure when I was younger I cut them wrong and now the nails on my big toes are probably at risk for being ingrown if I don't manage them right. But otherwise the nails look healthy like my fingernails and I rarely have problems with dryness or excess dead skin.

I feel like the next step is to share feet pictures xD

Alenxandrus - Only if you count that hobo in the corner who likes to bark.

Demo - Well, window shopping. I prefer not to buy shoes online since my size can be so iffy. Not to mention, I usually can't afford an online site. It's never been a big deal to me, I didn't even know I wanted sandals until I saw this pair at walmart.

Keyori - I can't go barefoot indoors. Not once I noticed how dirty my feet get doing that. I'm not putting dirty feet in my bed! :gonk: Now I always have my feet covered by shoes, slippers, or more commonly, socks.

I am insane about how clean our floors are. If I got dirty feet walking inside, I'd probably stab something. I vacuum obsessively and I sweep and mop the kitchen (where the door outside is) pretty frequently too. Plus since we don't wear shoes inside really, I think that helps keep it clean.

Ugh, jealous of your floors. I recently took over maintaining the floors, and I set up mats by all the doors for people to step directly onto and take their shoes off on, but do they do it? No. >< And we have old carpeting that couldn't get clean no matter what you did to it. We want to tear it up, but we don't have the funds to replace it with a nice hardwood or something.

I swear when I have my own place I'll keep the floors so clean you could eat off them, but it's out of my hands at the moment. :gonk: I can mop and vacuum, but if I wear white socks, they'll get permanently stained on the bottom from our floors. It's disgusting, I hate it. :gonk:

Gross D:

Our carpet is pretty badly stained but it's not really filthy. I just hate when I walk on it and hair starts to stick to my feet... that's when I know it's vacuum time xD

That or when our dark rug shows cat hair.

I would LOVE hardwood floors, but hubby wants carpet. I think we sortof came to a compromise though where as long as the bedroom is carpeted, he can deal with hardwood in other places xD

Plus, it's not like I wouldn't put rugs down if we had hardwood floors. Easy way to redecorate, just switch out rugs!

I love how pretty hardwood floors look, but carpet is easier to take care of. You just need to vacuum carpet and shampoo it every now and again. Hardwood floors are more complicated, and waxing them is not an easy chore. I used to help my mom do it at some of her customer's houses. Plus you can only use certain products to clean them with, on a lot of types of wood flooring. And then of course there's the issues of scuffing and if you have pets, you'll wind up with scratched floors pretty fast.

Plus with carpet, you get the extra bonus of it being soft and plushie around your feet. =w=

If we can find the right stuff, I also like the mock-wood-linoleum stuff. I've seen it in hotel foyers with heavy foot traffic. It's super awesome when the carpet padding is underneath too ^u^

The wood-style linoleum is more durable, but there's still issues with pets. Pets can and will scratch up anything that isn't carpeting.

Pff, mine are tearing up the carpet. Though in their defense, some other creature started tearing it up first, and they've just continued the work xD

I love our tile flooring (except how ugly it is) because it's so easy to clean and take care of. I don't like that sometimes it's cold, but we're at least on the second floor so the unit below us keeps it warm enough most of the time.

Carpet seems easier to take care of, but you can't really keep it clean. Dirt will get stuck down in there. Tear up your carpet and you'll find a thick layer of yuck underneath it. :gonk:

I like how cushioned they are, but... tearing up the carpet in our dining room (yeah, our dining room was carpeted. So is our bathroom. Wtf, previous owners?!) has completely turned me off carpet. I'll just put down those mats with the cushioned undersides.

Oh yeah my dog Anna tore up our carpet (and the linoleum and two different doors) :gonk:

Tile is the easiest kind of flooring to clean, but I wouldn't want it all over my house. I really love carpet.

Ew carpeted bathrooms are so annoying!

Hippy:: Hi. ^^
