This new Menewsha layout is very uncomfortable to me
I can't stand it
But I know they don't want to change it cause they worked hard
I appreciate it, a lot
But, its not that good

Meh, I'm sure we'll get used to it.
Not that we have any choice, but still. ;)

Mascot, While I appreciate that you don't like it, I'd just like to say this. You were invited to beta test and you didn't bother.
You'd have had ample opportunity to say what you didn't like about the new layout before it was launched, and have been guaranteed that Ken would have seen what you had to say, but you chose not to do any testing at all.
So it's slightly irritating to see you complaining now.

I would have to agree.
We do appreciate that people are not happy with it, that it is difficult for them to find their way around, to have to update their broken links and the work that they have to do in that. There are people out there that simply DO NOT like change. They get comfortable with one thing and don't like to have to learn something new. Not everyone is going to be happy with us or this site. It's just the way it is.
You logged in a grand total of four days in the test site and made less than 10 posts. You had ample opportunity to complain about how you didn't like it, to make suggestions about what could be better or different. Yet YOU chose not to, for reasons that are only known to you.
In the future please do not commit to something that you have really no interest in doing. A lot of the beta testers put in hour after hour providing input, glitch finding, and offering suggestions for improvement. You could have made a difference but you chose not to.

You're absolutely right. We're not done with the site. We're working the kinks out as we speak, which is why the logo still says BETA on it.
It was a tough decision. Wait and let the users have absolutely nothing to do OR roll it out and let them get used to it, give them games and features and things that they have been asking for, and work on fixing issues and then getting NEW features in place.
I'm sorry you did not take the time to offer suggestions or thought that it would be really cool to be a beta tester and then found out that it was actually work and didn't like it. There were several users that would have gladly taken your place. One in particular comes to mind. Beta testing WAS the real deal. It was your opportunity to speak up and represent your fellow users. I'm just sorry you chose not to.

...Let me ask you this. Did you really expect Mene to stick with the same layout forever? Most of the users didn't like the old layout because it was very flat, while the new one is more appealing with all the added graphics.
Obviously things are different and it takes some adjusting. It's always uncomfortable when you log into a site that you're very familiar with and everything has changed, but eventually you start to get used to it.
It's not completely finished, but it's better to have Mene with a few missing details/glitches then have to look at that damn downtime screen any longer. It's ridiculous to expect them to release it without bugs, anyway.

Then you should've said something WHILE YOU HAD A CHANCE TO TEST. C_C
Complaining now is pointless.

Awww why do you think it's creepy? I think they did a lovely job. I will admit when I first saw it in beta testing I was a little put off, but that's because it was foreign and that's always hard at first. But the more I tested and got used to it, the more I liked it. I never thought it was creepy though?
The key to anything new is to give it a chance and see what you think after you get used to it.

Looks great to me. Love being able to post a reply right at the bottom of the page, love that there is more space in the forum pages, the art is nifty and very mene, and it's good to have some new games to play... not to mention the added bonus of avatar eyes and facial features. I think everything I've seen is an improvement across the board. The only thing I miss is being able to see new topics on the home page, and it will be good when fishing returns. But nothing I see here is worth complaining about. I think this update is fantastic. Bravo, team.

Basically what I've read is you just don't like change.
You haven't provided any real specific reasons/examples of what's wrong with the new update. Dx
Instead comments like 'it's creepy'. Why is it creepy? Exactly what problems do you find?

There is no real point in fighting now.
According to your post though, Mascot, this new layout is very "comfortable"?
Anyways, no point in arguing. The new look is here to stay. Enjoy it. =)

Don't forget that once we've settled in properly to the new software, major and minor changes with layout can/will be made. So things may change to suit you better. Patience and politeness when making suggestions accomplishes much. :3

If you had the chance to beta test over someone like myself who's used to beta testing things and voicing opinions then your complaint makes me think you didn't take the time to sit back and give proper input when you had the chance; it makes me somewhat miffed that you shrugged off an opportunity someone like myself, who would have done good for beta testing Menewsha, could have had.
Yes, the new layout has it's kinks and needs to be smoothed out but launching it after its all "fixed" is rather moot as most websites with a decent member base will have errors, glitches, and general annoyances when launched totally alpha anyway.

How is this beautiful new layout CREEPY!?
Damn, I wish I had the chance that YOU did to do beta testing and give suggestions! Because of the fact that you did not accept that chance, you don't deserve to offer your opinion!

It's been my experience that whenever any forum site switches over to a new layout, people will almost always be uncomfortable with it at first. That's natural. You got used to one thing, and then they changed it.
It's also been my experience that once it's changed again (For whatever reason) people are complaining about how they liked the other one better, and completely forget about the one before that, completely forget that they had been complaining about the one which they just said they preferred.
The point? People are never happy.

Ouch, isn't that a little harsh? xD; He's entitled to his own opinion, though maybe he should have given this feedback before, it doesn't mean he's not allowed to give it anymore... ^^;
Anyway, in October, when we had our first layout change, pretty much everybody hated it and thought it was awful, then people got used to it, then started to love it.
With changes like these, it's really rare that you'll automatically love it from the start. It takes time to get used to, but once you get the hang of all the new features and layout, it'll seem better to you. And like CK said, I don't think this is the final product of the new layout either >__<
( on another note, I don't see at all how this layout looks like Gaia's layout, but that might just be me XD; )

Also, before anyone gets too up on the OP - the OP wasn't the only beta tester who didn't do their duty. Only a handful of our beta testers were regularly logging in and giving feedback. They were wonderful and we're still working on implementing some of their suggestions.
