My friend Peaches is the exact same way as you...the only thing I tell her it that it's just a color and when she wears it it's no longer that cute giggly girly color, but simply pink.

I think the reason so many people dislike the color pink, especially girls, is because we have it shoved down our throat from day one. Some idiot, somewhere, decided that pink was a girl color, and if you're a girl from the time you are born it is pink pink pink. Every baby outfit for girl babies is pink. Every toy for little girls is pink. Barbie is nothing but pink. You can only take so much of a color before you get sick of it. I have never liked the color pink. At least, it has never been my favorite color or even come close to being my favorite color. I really didn't ever care for it. My favorite color from the very start was green. I also liked purple somewhat, but never pink. Later on I realized blue was another of my favorite colors. But I think it took a while for me to realize this because when I was younger, I was made to think that blue was a boy color. :headdesk: Stereotypes suck and children are so impressionable about things like that. But I really do think that green and blue are two of the prettiest colors out there. Anyways, like many girls, I went through an "I hate pink" stage as well. Now I don't really care, I don't hate pink, and I'll wear it on occasion, I'll wear just about any color. I don't care for orange much either but I'll wear it as well, as long as it's a nice shade of it. I think all colors have the potential to be pretty and look nice. But pink will never be one of my favorites.

I usewd to dislike pink. Then I wore a bright pink dress to grad and looked so hot in it. The only reason I got the pink one was because the style suited me perfectly and the only other color choice was this horrid aquamarine/teal barf-color thing. I went with the pink. And realized that it was not an evil color, merely misunderstood.

Now I'm more then happy to wear pink things, though I haven't worn bright pink since that dress.

There are a lot of things that I like now that I wouldn't touch as a child. Coffee is a good example; hated it as a kid (and most do, I think) but now I love it. My love started about 2 years ago when I got free coffee from my work.

I don't think of it as all that odd to start liking, or hating, something that you previously didn't. I mean, people are constantly changing and their likes and disikes change with them. People are not static creatures, after all.

Yeah, I had multiple expieriences similar to this one x].
Although, it came to my attention in different ways.
Like, I went out with a guy, and later on, he dumped me. Which is life, go figure. But it was the first guy to dump me, so I guess it felt pretty bizzare and depressing. He said part of it was that my choice in style was a little off from the average person.
Now, before he said this, I was perfectly content with everything about me. My sidebangs, studded belts, band shirts, etc. But after he said that, I looked into everything I "liked" and that maybe I should take his advice into trying other colors.
So, I tried pink, and went shopping at Hollister. In the end, I ended up liking it better. And now, I have a lot more pink, and many other colors I formerly disliked, in my life. From my pink iPod to light blue polo shirts, I've come to like it.

Around guys that I seriously like I tend to act like their friends so they'd like me more. It never really worked, mostly because he apparently thought I was a lesbian because I'd sit in his lap and go over a Play Boy with him saying which one had the nicer chichis. e __ e After I figured out he would never like me I went back to my original self and that apparently attracted him and now from this day on he's my boyfriend. :> So, now, I act myself around anyone unless I hate you. I seriously love the colour pink so much it resided in my hair for a few months.

I always have and always will hate the color pink. Well okay, I didn't always hate it. I liked it when I was little. I don't think it was my favourite color, but I just didn't hate it back then, it was just a neutral color for me. When I was little, I wasn't hard to please, we'll just put it that way. Anyway, I despise that color now, like you said, I associate it also with giggly stupid preppy cows . And the "dumb blonde" thing as well. I should technically get offended by that somehow, seeing as I'm blonde, but I'm not one of those big ass big chested blonde bimbos, and that's what I think of when I hear "dumb blonde" for some reason. That's how I stereotype them, anyway. And the blonde isn't natural with them, it's more than likely bleached. But anyway, that's off topic.
I think I have done that with a few things before, but I can't remember anything specific at the moment.

I always liked pink, well certain shades I cannot stand like a hot pink. o_o' Mostly because it reminds me of this one chick who was all up on my boyfriend, she always wears this really gross hot pink dress thing. It's just to much, and honestly, pink isn't her color. XD It looks so awkward on her. I shouldn't judge really, but..oh my. =P
I'm starting to dislike red, it's always been one of my favorite colors and a lot of people at my school associate it with me, but now I see red EVERYWHERE a lot more than I use to at least, and it's like "oh jeeeeeeez". D;

Haha, I know what you mean about the color pink. I use to dislike it, due to the associations I had with it - the giggly girl on cell phone all day sort of association. But after a few years, I realized the color wasn't as bad as I had made it out to be.

A similar thing happened with me and R&B. Before I avoided it because the first R&B song I listened to didn't appeal to me. So I just stayed away from it for a long time. After listening to some more songs, I find it's actually a genre I rather like. But then again, I'm not picky about my music.
