Hey guys, sorry I havn't been on. [ I've been moving, yet again...but in the most strange way you could imagine... ] Anyways, I'm 14 [ just turned 14, you could say ] and at this age I am pretty much considered an adult, in Russia. [ I think...at least that's what my parents told me o__o' ] So my dad keeps telling me that I should become independent and make my own decisions, spread my wings early, you could say. [ He says it's a good thing, and I don't really mind that. ] Anyyywayyyss, I should probably explain what's happened so far to not to confuse..too much [ I hope I don't confuse at all... ]

I moved from America to Russia, so I stopped going to school. I can't go to school in Russia though because I don't know the Russian language all that well, and all the stuff I am already supposed to know in Russian, I just don't know. [ And there are no programs for this, this is Russia we are talking about after all. The education is harder here too, I know a couple of 15 year olds in college already >>' Augh...although that probably shouldn't be suprising, huh? *sigh* ]

So mom and dad told me I will just take some test that you take at the end of middle school and high school, so I can pass it. Thing is, I want to pass it and all, but what if I don't know the material on it? I mean, that's the reason we go to school right? To learn this material, and all? [ Well I am sure there are other reasons, but this is the reason I focuse on. ] So is there any way for me to get my hands on this material, is there a site that has this "test"? Like the state test, I think.

And another problem. I want to be an artist, but not a starving artist, although I am ready to go through a phase of being a starving artist. So how do you recomend that I get into that? Go to into University of Art maybe, but then what? What kind of jobs will I probably take as an artist? What should I research for professional benifit, as an artist? So many questions...I probably forgot a few too, but you get the idea right?

It's just, if you were an artist, how would you start out? I was actually thinking of getting another job before becoming an artist so I won't be all that poor, but I don't even know WHAT job. Then I thought that while I will be in high school I could become a proffesional artist and make some money before I get out of school, for an early start for my career.

So, any suggestions?

What I would suggest for a starting out job is something that's related to art, but isn't just making your own art and selling it...maybe something that could help you get your foot in the door though. You could try to find work at a gallery/art shop or as an artist's assistant for example.
