Cosplay? Cosplay?!
It's a culture based on FUN and craziness and I can't get enough of it!!
Are you with me? 8DD
I can never think of anything to say in forums,
but this is a topic I never get sick of talking about. :3
I've been cosplaying for a few years now and will be doing so again in just 8 days! (omg)
I'm going to an anime convention in Illinois, and I can't wait!
[Acen anyone?]

I've never got a chance to cosplay yet. Though, I'd really love to do it. I keep getting suggestions from my friends, saying I should dress as Chi, from Chobits, or Yuffie from Final Fantasy. However, I'm thinking of just going as my own original character. I'd need the outfit though, and I can't make it on my own. I need a new method on how to get it.
Anyways, good luck with your cosplaying. Hope you have tons of fun! ^^

Kuro: Well whatever you decide to do, I hope you have fun! I dressed as original characters for a few years before I built up the courage (and thirst for attention) to cosplay as an anime character. Now I try to go as fairly well known characters because I love photoshoots. :3
Sagitar: Ooh~ I'll go there right now! 8DD Thanks for the link!
Linkfreak: Oh cool, I hope you get to go to one. They are a ton of fun. 8D [money sinkholes though..] lol I've never heard of Golden Sun, but I've seen a lot of Zelda's and Link's walking around at cons. They always look so great! <3

I wish I had the means to do cosplay or even the physical appearance for it (not that sexy looking lol ). xD
I like cosplay very much when it's done well. I loathe seeing really overweight or physically unattractive people attempting to cosplay a physically attractive anime character. xP Weird pet peeve of mine.
That's why I don't cosplay myself, I am currently a physically unattractive individual and would look hideous attempting to cosplay as anyone really. Bleh...Although I did join a gym not too long ago and have been working out regularly. Perhaps one of these days I can properly do a cosplay, I think it would be fun.
/On a side note, yes I am a shallow bitch. xD

Yeah, many people have never heard of the game before... It's really unfortunate, too, becuase it's one of the best RPGs I've ever played. I hope they'll make a third game to it (already two out for the GBA), that way it can get noticed more...
I'm sure mine'll look grood. ^_^ My aount will be helping me on it, since she's really handy with a sewing machine, plus she really looks at detail so it should be really acturate. ^_^ All I really have to worry about is gett my hair long enough... >_> That and figuring out how ot put it in her hair style, since I'm going to be doing TP Zelda. ^^

Linkfreak: ooooh~ If you could get all those details on her dress it would look amazing! I have to have my mom help me with sewing because sewing machines have long since declared open war with me. xDD I can hand sew a little, and I like making accessories and crafty things. :3 I'd love to have someone help me tame a sewing machine of my own someday. T_T lol
Lilith: I haven't seen many KH2 Riku's so hurray for that! (or many Riku's in general sadly) Have fun at omg! con~ I can't travel too far for anime cons so my options are limited. I know a few people who travel to many different states to go to cons....it never ceases to amaze me. (and make me jealous lol) ;P

@Shiva- I know I haven't seen many Riku cosplays either.
I can't travel very far either. I'm jealous of them too. I wish I could go farther. I'm pretty close to omg! con. Acen is a lot farther from me.
The last con I went to there was a girl that was from Texas that had gone to 10 conventions in the past two years.

I'm too big to cosplay, in my own opinion. I don't mind seeing other big girls/guys cosplaying but I feel I wouldn't look good doing it, despite much protest from my friends/boyfriend.
I have some good friends that cosplay very well though, most notably my friend JF who is pretty well known around the anime-con scene around here (Virginia, Maryland) and also at Yaoicon
In fact I met him because he was in a red mage costume and later I saw him dressed as Duo Maxwell and I started talking to him.

Lilith: 10 cons in 2 years...crazy. I've seen people online who plan on going to nearly that many in one year...they must be rich xD lol
Teh: Yay~ Haruhi rocks! lol I hope you get to go to a con someday. It's totally worth it!
Setsunaela: Aww, I know how you feel. I think I'm a little too chubby to cosplay as well, but the cosplays I do cover me up so I can kind of hide my flub. lol I wear corsets and such under neath to make me feel more confident when I'm cosplaying. ^_^;;
Fallen: lol human is good xD I've never cosplayed as a non-human...and I don't really plan too. haha it's fun to see others who do though. I always have my camera ready for the super crazy costumes! 8D

Shiva - I'm saving up for a corset that I really like in Torrid. It's a bit expensive compared to most of my clothes, I don't have much of a 'frivolous spending' budget, but I think it's worth it.

Setsunaela: Haha yeah, I never spend that much on clothes, but I did pay quite a bit for my corset, and I think it's totally worth it. It's nice enough I can wear it over things to outings and parties as well as under my cosplays. (and it has great back support!)

i technically have enough to pay for it now, but I have to keep bills in mind plus i missed work yesterday and will probably miss today as well because I'm staying up trying to help make sure the basement doesn't flood any further.

Eek. Flooded basements suck >.< We just had our basement fixed so it wont flood anymore. It's scary because that's where we keep all our books. o-o;
Bills also suck. lol I mainly just have to worry about paying for medical stuff and my dance class...bleh. I'm not going to have any money to take to the anime con next week! xD ah well, I'll be busy cosplaying and taking pictures of people to care :3

I've been to a few anime cons, 3 paid for by friends who REALLY wanted me to go, and 1 paid for myself, hotel room and all. I learned a lesson at the last con.. actually several lessons, the most important of which is Keep the Door to the Hotel Room Locked At All Times Even When Having A Party..
we had people no one knew having loud, rough sex in the bathroom of my hotel room while I was unable to be located in the stairwell three floors up busily flirting with my gorgeous french-canadian friend JF.

I'm in the process of working on my first really SERIOUS cosplay thing...I'm going to Anime Expo as C.C. from Code Geass. She becomes a really, really, REALLY major character in episode 3 (THIS SATURDAY, for those following the dub - seriously, WATCH IT), and she's one of my favorites...plus her two outfits from season 1 are white and long-sleeved, which is ABSOLUTELY PERFECT for someone who can't take much sun exposure.
But I'm doing her R2 outfit, too, because I like it. >w>;
I'm also thinking of finding the nearest Pizza Hut, getting all the other C.C. cosplayers together, and organizing a "raid." There should be plenty of us now that the series is licensed. XD It's sure to raise a few eyebrows, I'm sure...

Talking of raising eyebrows, you should have seen the poor 24-hour McDonald's down the block from the hotel of Anime USA '08. We had to cross a busy highway and so we'd go in (big) groups, safety in numbers, so the McDonald's would be overrun with young adults in costume.

Arrgh I wanna see Code Geass sooooooooo bad! I haven't had any time to watch it or anything else because I promised my brother I'd catch up on Naruto and Bleach so that THIS year I'll actually know what the heck people are talking about at the photoshoots/panels! xD
And as far as awkward cosplay situations go...try going to the Cracker Barrel in a black kimono with white face make-up, purple eyeliner and yellow cat eye contacts! (I also threw on some cat ears just before we went it...just for kicks) the LOOKS I got were amazing~ omg. I wanted to take pictures of their faces xD I was the only one in my group cosplaying too so I really stood out. lol but omg their orange juice is so good. >w< *random*
Cosplay photos? Yup. I have some. Here's a link to my cosplaylab account with my most current cosplay: linkeh

I personally think it's pretty geeky. xD
Americans just plain suck at cosplaying.
It seems as though only the Japanese can do it right. P:
Sure there are a FEW good American cosplayers, but not many. Dx
