I think its just that people who say their not virgins just wish they wern't. Normally people are just bragging. Have you ever thought of a very close and quite couple being non virgins? properly not, it only ever seems to be the slightly/already popular people that tend to. I hate it when people lie to you and say their no longer a virgin. My best friend did this, pointless. Turns out she was still a virgin. But it made me realise what was going on at home with her. We're now even closer. But still. why lie, it doesn't get you anywhere in life. You might as well just be you x

Well me for one am proud to say I'm as virgin. MY ex tried to get me to sleep with me but then i guess when he found out after months of trying he decided to give up on me 6 months to be exact and he just stoped talking to me ><;; Sad thing is i was almost stupid enough to give in to him just so he would love me again but i decided agaisnt it i mean if he doesnt like me now what would change it by me having sex with him lol he would still feel the same just well getting some then find a new girl and leave me behind.

I wouldn't lie about my virginity, and I'd like to think that others would also be honest.

When I had my first boyfriend, he was really experienced, so I was scared to tell him I was a virgin. I was always taught guys like "Experienced girls" So I lied about it for ages, (I was 16 at the time) Then when we were about to have sex, I started to cry and told him I was scared because i'd not done it before, and he was shocked but not angry at all that i'd lied. He refused to have sex with me that night because he said it needed to be special and when I was ready. I never did have sex with him, I met a guy while I was in university at 18, and I told him right from the start, and it was the most special caring moment :)
So lying about it just hurts you really, and guys do care about that kind of thing, and will treat you properly.

You'd be surprised how many guys want to chase after virgins. If you lie about it, you're less of a target. I lied about it myself after I figured that one out. It stopped a lot of harassment.

It's so retarded when people lie about not being a virgin, seriously it doesn't make you look cool... especially if you're not even in college or anything o_o I have a friend who has a brother who lost his virginity last year... and he was only 13 years old... so was the girl o_O

I kinda agree. Though, I believe it's one thing to consider yourself a virgin if you've been raped then if you've had a good time with your ex. *Shrugs.* I know a lot of girls who lie about being a virgin, and it's just sad. xD Really... All I can do is laugh about it. xP

I don't really see the reason for why anyone would lie about if they were or not, it's the same about certain people who smoke, thinking they're cool cause they smoke.

I guess people feel more grown up if they've had, or say they've had, sex. Other people might just want to be involved in the conversation. I think it would be stupid to lie about it to someone you plan on becoming involved with. They're more than likely going to find out.

I did lie to my friends about it a couple of times though. Not because I was ashamed or anything. I just didn't feel like talking about it because it wasn't a big thing to me then. After a year of going out with my boyfriend, they knew something had to be going on. :XD I always told them nothing happened because I knew they would be bugging me like crazy for details, so I ended up holding off a while before telling them. When I finally did tell them they did exactly as I thought they would and started pestering me for all the nasty details. :roll:

I agree, that is stupid, and isn't something you should lie about. If you're serious about someone the last thing you need to do is lie about something like that. I think it's really stupid, especially if a guy lied and said he wasn't a virgin and he was. I actually like for guys to be virgins. I don't want an "experienced" guy, I want someone who is on the same level as me, who doesn't know more than me, who isn't going to try to rush me into something. Luckily I don't have to worry about all that. I've got a boyfriend, and we are both virgins, and when we do it, it will be a new thing for both of us. I prefer that so much more. It makes it way more special. I want to be the first and only special person for him, I don't want someone who's done it with someone else previously. So really if a virgin lied to me and said he wasn't one, he'd be losing out, because I might not be as interested in him (if I was single and looking for someone). XD I worry about STDs as well, which is another big reason I prefer someone to be a virgin. It's one less thing to have to worry about.

I think not being a virgin is uncool. It just totally shows you can't wait till a better time. Like high schoolers shouldn't have sex. I think making out is the furthest it should go and if you do it in high school or EVEN middle school, you should be really ashamed of yourself because you didn't have the patience to wait. =O

Some people lie about being raped, which is also pretty bad. I wouldn't lie to my significant other about stuff like that. He deserves to know the truth.

People do lie about much worse things. There was a girl in my high school and she lied and told everyone she had a brain tumour. She only got found out because she passed out drunk once and her friends panicked and called an ambulance. She couldn't come back to school after that because of what everyone thought about her.
