The new Spring anime started up last month and everyone scrambled to snatch up new series to watch. Was there anything that you were excited about and snatched up immediately? What series, if any, did you eventually decide to watch? Have you dropped any since then? Maybe a friend recommended something better?

Personally, the only thing that I knew was coming out was Junjou Romantica and I wasn't that excited about it. There's six episodes out at this point and I've only watched two.

After reading Anime News Network's Spring Anime Preview, I picked out a couple of series to watch. I've been picking up and dropping things ever since. I started out with Bus Gamer, Kamen no Maid Guy, Kurenai, Nabari no Ou, Soul Eater and Special A on my plate. I've since dropped Kurenai and picked up Amatsuki and Library War. I might drop Special A too, just because I don't like where it's heading.

Here's an incomplete list of the spring anime:
Allison and Lillia
Amatsuki
Blassreiter
Bus Gamer
Chi's Sweet Home
Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion R2
Crystal Blaze
Da Capo II Second Season
Glass Maiden
Golgo 13
Himitsu
Itazura Na Kiss
Junjou Romantica
Kamen no Maid Guy
Kanokon
Kurenai
Kyo Kara Maou! Season 3
Kyouran Kazoku Nikki
Library War
Macross Frontier
Monochrome Factor
Nabari no Ou
Neo Angelique ~Abyss~
Niju-Menso no Musume
Penguin no Mondai
Soul Eater
Special A
To Love-Ru
The Tower of Druaga
Vampire Knight
Wagaya no Oinarisama
xxxHOLiC: Kei
Zettai Karen Children

So, discuss. Spring anime! Are you watching? What are you watching? What should we be watching? Which ones do you love or not love? You get the point.

I'm currently watching Kyou Kara Maou 3, xxxHolic Kei, and Nabari no Ou. I'll probably pick up Library Wars and then if anyone suggests anything else, I'd be interested to try something out.

You might like Amatsuki. It's about a modern day boy who falls into the past after a run-in with a mysterious monster that steals the vision in one of his eyes. It's got some action, magic and mystery and it seems to fit in well with the other shows that you're watching. ^_^

Also, I really like Library Wars. I'm a big book nerd myself. The concept of protecting free speech and freedom of expression is interesting, and I like how they've escalated it to armed conflict. It's a bit like Read or Die in that respect, without the magical powers though. I like the art too. The main character can get a little annoying at times, but she feels real.

I've been watching Special A because I love the manga. I think it's cute and I will probably stick with it. I've never been the type to snatch up anime as they're being released because I prefer being able to watch the whole thing in one go. Waiting week by week for FMA taught me that I'm not patient enough for all that!

Oo okay. Yeah, Amatsuki is one title I wrote down from the reviews. And Library Wars... well, I have to see it. I'm in training to be a librarian, so.... hee hee. It sounds good. Thanks for the recommendations.

I think Special A is cute, but I really really despise Takashima. I don't feel the least bit sympathetic towards him with his crush on Hikari. And she's just so nice and perky and positive, I know that she will eventually come to acknowledge his feelings, but I feel like he doesn't deserve her cause he's being such a prick! So I need to drop it for my sanity, because I want to reach into the screen and strangle Takashima! D=<

You're welcome. Library Wars also has actual library work in it too, it's not just all fighting so that might make it even more appealing for you. I wonder how accurately it reflects the Japanese library system now.

Did you happen to watch Library Wars raw? I won't ask where you saw it (heh), but I haven't seen a translated version yet, so I was wondering if there was an English language version out there.

Cookie: He's slightly more sypathetic in the manga. The thing is that the story is your typical, totally cliche shoujo romance. And as a result the characters can seen so much like cut-outs that it's infuriating. Sometimes it works for a person, sometimes it doesnt.

Currently, just Code Geass R2, Macross Frontier, and Soul Eater, but i'll likely jump onto the second season of Da Capo. For comedy, the lineup is stacked. For the somewhat darker style of anime I like, there isn't a ton this spring.

Pyra: I have six episodes. >=D

Yreka: I still have to finish the first season of Code Geass before I can get to the second ^_^;

Hi Wasashu! Thank you again for that art. I posted it in my Mene blog <3

I love new anime season. I did not, however, love Bus Gamer. It's only three super concentrated episodes long. I'm not sure why they made it other than it's Kazuya Minekura.

Yep, Junjou Romantica is yaoi. There's sex! Granted, it's not shown outright. You know they're having sex, but they only show faces during that, nothing else. Regardless, it's yaoi. And it's going to be 24 episodes long. Impressive that we're going to get such a series! I have that same poster from Yaoi Con XD I put it on my bookshelf, but it keeps falling off.

Yep, this will be my fourth Yaoicon. ^___^ You'll definitely see me there. I'll probably be working at the registration desk and running around with the y!Gallery group. I'm thinking of running a panel or two this year. I ran two the year before last, but I skipped last year.

Yeah, the Japanese pretend to be so modest and they're big perverts XD Ah well, they fill my need for manly lovin, so who am I to complain? ^_^

I would still live there if I hadn't lived with the biggest selfish bitch ever! =/ I really liked it there, but I couldn't live there on my own, so I'm back home now.

Yep, the con is September 26 - 28th this year!

Out of those I've only seen/am watching 3... ^^; Chi's Sweet Home is adorable and I keep up with all the releases. As a cat person I just love it more. XD

Junjou Romantica is my 'I need something to watch before I bore my skull open' anime. I forget about it for weeks at a time (unintentionally giving time for the subs XD) and then suddenly remember out of the blue and catch up. It's alright, has some really hilarious moments.

One of my friends downloads To Love-Ru so I just watch it when I go over to his place. I'm not really into these kinds of fanservice anime but it also has really hilarious moments. *nods*

I kept meaning to go to Yaoi Con for the past 3-4 years but I never actually went lol. Almost all my friends are guys and lord knows I'm not driving myself that far. =__=

There has been a lot of new spring anime, if I think about it. xDD
But the ones I'm watching and following are Itazura Na Kiss, Special A, and Vampire Knight. Itazura na Kiss because I tried reading the manga, but the art was kind of... bad. The story was good though, so I was looking forward to seeing it in anime version. :] I'm wondering how it's going to end though.. because I read somewhere that the manga-ka got into an accident before she finished the manga.. :[
For Special A, I've read the manga, but I found out it was going to be an anime before I read it. xD; Still love it though. <33 As for Vampire Knight... I haven't read the manga.. for some reason, the manga doesn't seem to interest me. :/ And I haven't thought about searching it up and reading it.. but the anime is pretty exciting. <3

I squee'd when I heard that Vampire Knight was coming out. T___T
I was so happy. This is one of my favourite mangas.
