I accidentally walked into a comic-con when my partner came to visit a few months ago.

He just loves to procrastinate
spends most of his time playing games
and then is upset when i'm reminding him to do things...like so annoying.
and yes, i could probably do more around the house, but i have some major depression going on at the moment and its hard to bring myself to do 'higher level tasks'
like a bit of cleaning here and there throughout the day, sure
having to do a ton at once because *now* he needs my help and i'm tired ???
ack
like i wish he would just say, "i don't want to do that" and give me a relative time frame
but like, i ask him to load the dryer frequently, because im a little too short to reach the bottom of the basin without a stool (and we don't have one, lol) or basically hanging over the edge which kinda hurts, and then two day's later he's all
why does the wash smell funny when did you do the wash
when you asked me for pants and we could only find one slightly smelly pair
oh, well why didn't you load the dryer
??? i asked you to do that???
no you didn't!!!!!11
*pulls up text message on phone*
oh (grumbles as he redoes the wash and then eventually forgets again and i end up doing it)
-shrugs-
i KNOW he's capable of better
but right now he's all 'inspired' because they gave him a temp dev job at work and he loves coding
so he spends hours after work coding and stuff
so i don't see him much these days and when we do see each other its mostly food/cleaning
and its kinda stressful because neither of us ever wants to decide what to eat, and he doesn't want to clean during his 'time off'
yknow
the time he was coding off the clock

Thankfully my BF isn't a pest about things but then again, he doesn't ask me to do much. It's mostly me bugging him. And he knows that he is bad about doing things when I tell him too (usually relating to cleaning up).
Depression is tough in the best of times. I have a friend that has been pretty severely depressed for a few years and there were many a days where she didn't leave the house. Most days she didn't do anything. Even today she isn't out of the clear but now she is in London studying Shakespeare, so I'm hopeful that things will start to look up.
Ah, my bf's wash smells funny but that's because the clothes get wet on the bathroom floor (poorly designed shower) and he leaves them there for 2-3 days.

Have you considered placing a trash can near where he usually opens wrappers?
Just so you know about the pee thing. It's not probably because they are missing. Due to the height above the water it splashes.
|
Nope, they are little brown stains and there are quite a few. Either way, I'm out of that house now.
We have trash bags everywhere. Doesn't seem to encourage him to throw out his trash unless I literally hold it up for him. Also, cans/recyclable stuff is an issue.
And BF knows that he misses the toilet. It is not a splashing issue.

Brown stains? Oh dear...
Gee... how do you miss the toilet though? It's like... right there. Maybe he needs to scoot forward, it's probably not reaching as far as he thinks it does.

I mean, BF tried to see what would cause that (he's an architect and likes to look at that kind of stuff) and other than mold, the closest he could come with would be smoke stains. I dunno. Again, I just keep my bathroom time there to a minimum.
Its more of a sprinkler than a jet stream. He also does not aim.

Dae - banish him to sitting then if he can't aim.
Better than my thought. Figured someone had a violent session in the bathroom and couldn't reach the ceiling.

He does do plenty of sitting on the toilet, as he has Crohn's. One of the major flaws of having one bathroom in our house...
Again, don't really want to know. I spend, at most, 2 weeks a year at their house. Most of which I am working at my regular job most of the day anyway.

Brown, spotty stains on the bathroom ceiling usually indicates that someone smokes in the bathroom...
When the bathroom gets steamy from a shower, the nicotine collects with the condensation on the ceiling.
This washes off fairly easily with any household cleaner.
Pink stains might indicate mold or mildew and should be treated with bleach.

No, he doesn't sit when it's just number 1. He just doesn't aim. But he does spend a lot of time in the bathroom.

Yeah, that's what he thought. I don't think either of them smokes and the house is relatively old. But it's not my house, so meh.

Lol, not likely to happen but I can ask. It really isn't a big deal to me (we aren't talking puddles on the floor) but would be annoying if we have to replace the tiles around the toilet for it. We already have a lot to do in fixing up the house as it is.

haha after this conversation me and my bf had a nice talk
and he was like
ya, you're right no one should have to step in pee
and every day since then he's been more mindful (or at least is cleaning it up)
I don't know why it took so long
maybe it was the whole
he stepped in someone else's pee and realized how gross it is thing
