This is a story I'm working on that I am eventually going to make into a manga once I feel that my drawing skills have matured enough
*I used this for a writing assignment for English in the beginning of this year, so it might be sort of corny sounding (though I'm not entirely sure about that:drool:).
If anyone actually enjoys it, I suppose I could make chapter 2 etc. ;) [Already have it planned =o]
Here goes!=3
(Ah, and if anyone has any questions, ask away! ^ ^)
It was a warm day in late spring. Tori and her friend Erin were walking through the forest. Suddenly, a bat flew towards them with what appeared to be a note tied to its leg.
“…Where did that bat just come from…?” Erin asked.
“Oh, it’s my friend Natalie’s pet,” Tori replied.
Tori took the note off of the bats leg and while she read it the bat sat perched on her shoulder. When she finished reading it, all grew silent.
“What’s wrong?” asked Erin.
“Nattie got kidnapped!” Tori exclaimed with a look of dismay.
“So does that mean we’re going to go on a rescue mission?”
“Yup~! Lead the way, Mellon-Collie!” And the two set off deeper into the forest following the bat.
After a while, they came upon a run-down looking castle. There didn’t seem to be any kind of security, but Tori was still cautious.
“What are we waiting on?” Erin asked.
“Just watch,” Tori said as she picked up a rock. Erin had a skeptical look on her face. Tori then tossed the rock in front of the entrance. All of a sudden, there was an explosion.
“Ha-ha, I knew something was up,” Tori said with a smart expression on her face.
“…You scare me sometimes,” Erin remarked.
“But um… that explosion is probably going to draw out security so we should look for a back entrance.” Then Tori looked up abruptly when she noticed Mellon-Collie wasn’t on her shoulder anymore; he was leading them towards another entrance. Towards the back of the castle there was a broken cellar door with stairs leading down into darkness. After seeing the stairs, Erin asked,
“The way this place looks, do you think that the stairs are sturdy at all?” Then she put her foot on a step which crumbled nearly instantly.
“Well, that answers that. Now how do you suggest we get in?”
“Umm…” Tori looked around and spotted a vine going up a wall of the castle.
“I wonder…” she said as she then tugged on the vine to see how sturdy it was.
“We can always climb up here,” Tori said to Erin. When they got to the second story, Tori leaped onto a window ledge and peeked in to see if anyone was there. Since it was clear the two went in and walked cautiously to the door. Erin volunteered to look through the hallway for anyone. When she came back a few moments later she said,
“There’s nobody up here, which I find to be peculiar…But I did find a staircase” At the top of the stairs, the duo looked down only to see a group of guards, and someone who appeared to be their boss. Then, Tori giggled and said,
“Aha, that guy looks like Dracula!” And when Erin started laughing too, the man looked up and saw them. Then he said, “Guards, get them!” And as they started rushing toward Erin and Tori, Tori said coolly, “Hey Dracula, before you kill us, want to tell us your name?” Then the man said, “Very well; my name is Kendero.” After that, Tori leaned over to Erin and asked her, “You ready to fight?” And Erin replied, “Yup.”
Tori and Erin made quick work of the guards. Then as Kendero started to walk away, Tori leapt in front of him, with Erin following.
“Now, want to tell us where our friend is?” Tori asked. “…But of course,” Kendero replied. He led them far down into the dungeon of the castle. As they were walking, Tori asked him why he had kidnapped Natalie.
“Meh, I’m not really a bad guy. Someone set me up to do it.”
“…Someone like who?”
“They never told me their name.”
“Hm…okay then.”
When Kendero let Natalie out, Tori asked her how she got captured so easily.
“Well, that dude over there told me that he didn’t really want to do it, so I just played along thinking I could find some things out. And Mellon-Collie certainly is reliable,” Natalie said looking at her pet bat.
“So, now what?” Erin asked.
“Um…We go back home for now. And Natalie, tell us everything that you heard,” Tori said.
“Alright,” Natalie said. “Hey, where did that guy go?”
But when they all looked, he was gone.
