No, I don't believe in it at all.

Of course, I would probably be argued with simply because of the definition of love. So many people feel their hearts beat faster and want to call it love. That's not love. It's attraction, infatuation, a crush, lust, puppy love, etc. It's not true love.

I suppose you could say I believe in "love" at first sight, but then it's "love" not love.

Nah. I believe in lust at first sight, but I only barely believe in being "in love"... And I feel that if you "fall in love at first sight", it's got to be a pretty shallow relationship. Possibly at first conversation, but meh. I couldn't fall in love based on looks alone. :c

I personally don't think I could *love* someone after taking one look at them. Maybe because to me, love is a really deep sort of bond between you and another person.

I can be attracted to someone at first sight, for looks or some other reason (pheromones!), but love, no. :}

Aw, I'd love to find love at first sight.
I think that's sorta romantic!

But, I don't think it happens. It's something you find in movies and novels, but not in real life.

Also, I think love only happens for some people; those willing to be loved and love others.

There is a sense of attraction, but certainly not love!

Attraction at first sight,
I would say is defintily true.
though based on 'first sight', you have to be a vain person,
becuase you are judging the object of your affections purely on there looks.

I think the people who "fall in love at first sight" are really not in love at that first sight.

I think what happens is they have attraction at first sight, that turns into love. They just never lose the attraction.

I'd hate to believe that people are so shallow that all it takes is one look to be in love. :c
Or that love is such a shallow emotion.

I do believe though, that you can be attracted to someone, and have it turn to love as well, therefore making it seem that you were in love at first sight. Love tends to creep up on you.

i believe in crushing on people at first site or when you first see them but love? love is about how much you like the person and caring about them so i`m not sure i could love a stranger some people do say it happens though so i`m not completely sure

well of course it is. look at all the cute avvies and cute clothes! :D

i believe i certain type of love at first site. i didn't fall in love with my fiance when i first saw him.. but i knew, as soon as i set eyes on him that he was the one i was going to marry. it felt like a premonition, but i get those already sometimes and it wasn't quite that.

funny story is.. when i first laid eyes on him, my friend in class sitting next to me (he was sitting to the left od me caddy-corner in the front while i was in the middle of the classroom) said "man that dude's hot." and my face got red and i told her she had no right to say that, like he was already mine. then i cooled off and looked at him, and like a dumb butt the convo went something like this:

me: hey, are you gay?
him. NO! why?
me: i was just asking a question. what's your problem? do you hate gay people? how could you hate gay people when you dress like one?
him. I DO NOT DRESS LIKE A GAY GUY!
me: damn, you're an asshole :D

we started dating a week later and i've been with him for almost 2 years now <3

i dont believe in love at first sight

i do believe that you can be attracted to a certain person the first time you see them, though.

there's no way you can "love" someone when you don't even know them

I actually don't think its possible. I think looking at person once leads to a series of events and then leads to love.

I second that. I think it's pretty much likely to have a crush at the first sight. But true love just needs some time to develop. If the first weeks or months are over and you still have strong feelings for the other one, even though you know about all his/her little faults now, than you can start talking about love. :3 At least in my opinion.
I'm in my relationship for 3,5 years now. When we first met, I knew, there was something. I really liked him from the first day on and I'm sure he felt the same. We became a couple pretty fast. And a happy one. But of course out relationship changed a lot during time. But now I'm pretty sure, I can talk about real love. ^-^

@ Saint sazzle your post totally made me giggle,it was a bit off topic but pretty true, most avatars on avatar sites tend to attract more females than males and then again it sort of is like we are playing dress up.Except with a community of people and we have to earn the stuff we dress in.On topic:I came back to see what other people thought and as i thought so the majority believes it does not happen.I think most people who love at first site are just infatuated with the person but not really in love.

I believe in attraction or lust at first sight, but not in love at first sight. I think most of the people who claim to fall in love with someone after first seeing them are really only really attracted to the person. I understand that there are a few people who may have actually fallen in love at first sight, so I do know that it may be possible. Sometimes a strong attraction is mistranslated to being love, making someone believe that they had fallen in love at first sight.
