She had been a bit shocked when he'd started running after taking her hand. It was a strange feeling to hold someone's hand, a bit awkward but nice for the most part. Seeing the ducklings made her gasp though and place a hand over her mouth as if she had not wanted the sound to escape.

Jake smiled to see the excitement on her face. " Yeah it's nice out here...calm..." He stared at Alessandra's expression, it was as if she'd never been out, well actually expressing the nature a bit. " It's nice to come out here with others or by yourself to think or read, ya know?" He stared off into the sunset.

"Not really," she said after a moment. "But if my parents saw me with you I'd be in trouble so I should probably walk home alone." That was a bad idea on her part since she'd already had trouble with someone today. "At least most of the way."

Jake thought for a moment...." uh...ok let go i guess" his guess was because she couldn't be seen with a guy let alone have a boyfriend. Jake thought to himself ' maybe if i talk to the parents....' Jake looked down to notice he was still holding Alessandra's hand " Oh sorry." he let go and began to walk " oh uh which way?"

She had barely noticed it since she was distracted. When he let go though she realized what he'd been doing and snuck a half glare at him. It was a comfort, that much she had to admit, but it was strange. She pointed towards where her house was, but it wasn't visible quite yet. She'd leave him behind when she'd barely spotted it.

Jake smiled " Ok" he began to walk with her towards her house. He wasn't really scared of Alessandra's parents yelling at him but more of her getting in trouble. He was too scared to hold her hand again though. " So, is your parents strict or something?" Try to get more information.

"Well my parents have always wanted me to get straight A's so I've spent a lot of time studying," she admitted. "I suppose that means that they're pretty strict. They've been telling me a million times about how they want me to marry a certain person." She let out a slightly mournful sighbefore looking down the road again.

Jake looked at Alessandra " what do you mean by certain?" he asked with concern, looking ahead to see if any house were appearing in sight.

"I mean some primped up rich guy that has a secure job right after college and knows the ropes of the richer students," she said with a sigh. She'd bowed her head slightly for a moment. "But it's not really what I want. I'm sick of the guys picking me like I'm a piece of meat and all those pick up lines. They keep complimenting my figure and my eyes and... I'm just sick of it because they rarely ever mean it."

Jake suddenly remembered what he said to Alessandra at the coffee shop ' you have really beautiful eyes' he thought to himself. " Oh yeah total turn offs. Well lucky for me i'm not rich..." Now he thought talking to her parents would be a difficult process. He imaged him knocked on their door and went they open it he says ' I like your daughter and would like permission to take her out on a date' And then they just slam the door open. Well we'll see he said to himself.

" Yeah you should be making your own decisions..."

"I know," Alessandra said as she crossed her arms. "The last guy they set me up with slapped me for eating too much and then told me to eat more when I ate less. They're so picky sometimes." She could recall that time when she'd been slapped, it had hurt so much because he'd used almost all of his force to do so. She was hugging her arms against her body now, not sure what she was doing anymore.

" Oh god thats not cool man. A guy should NEVER hit a girl no matter what. And you can should eat whatever you want when you want, and exercise. You know that guy should be happy i wasn't there because I would have took him down!" Jake balled up his fist.

Alessandra blushed slightly when he did this but still kept her arms around herself since she was slightly cold. Maybe she could convince her parents that the guys they were setting her up with weren't very nice and they should actually get to know some other people. She wouldn't tell them about her new friend quite yet, not until he came over and they were forced to be polite.

Jake smiled and flipped his hair out of his left eye. " is that your house up there?" his voice in slight sadness. Of course he knew he would see her everyday after all he was her " body guard"

"Oh yeah," she said. "I'll see you later then. Why don't you meet me at my school after school tomorrow and then I'll be safe." She smiled then before running off towards her house, the entire way and not really caring that she would be exhausted when she got home.

Not knowing what Jake was doing he ran up to Alessandra and said " bye." then gave her a quick hug then ran off the other direction. He knew that her parents wouldn't have seen it since where they were wasn't noticeable from where her house is.

She had stopped when she was told to wait and when he hugged her she was a bit perplexed. It was strange that he'd placed interest in staying her friend after she'd told him about her family. When he'd turned and left she also turned and started towards her house, though this time she was going at a slower pace so that she wouldn't appear to be out of air.

Jake was smiling and walking back to his house. Alessandra's scent had rubbed onto his shirt. For some reason he couldn't wait to get home. Probably because he wanted tomorrow to come. At first he thought Alessandra was some spoiled brat but now he knows she's different from most other rich girls. Thats why he somewhat likes her.

Alessandra made it home a few minutes later and came in quietly. Her parents were about to have dinner and invited her to sit down. They were curious where she'd been tonight but didn't ask right out.

"I went out with someone tonight," she said after a moment. "You'll be angry at me but it wasn't someone that has as much money as us but he saved me from one of those creeps."

"Oh darling," her mother said. "I'm so glad your safe. What's the boy's name? We..."

"You will not see him again," her father scolded.

"But father... he's nice and he said that all of the stuff those other guys did to me wasn't right and that I should be able to eat whatever I want."

"Fine you can see him but your mother has to be present at all times unless he's walking you home from school. That's it! Do you understand?"

There was anger in his voice that Alessandra hadn't heard in a while and it upset her. She could tell her mother was more supportive though but she'd always been like that. her mother would probably love whoever she was friends with.

Jake made it home without any danger which was normal for him. When he walked through the door he look around. No one was in the living room nor the kitchen. He went up to his parents room, but they weren't there either. ' There probably working over-time again' jake thought to himself.

But it was no surprise for him, knowing that his parents have been working more then usual to pay the bills. It was just best for him to shower up and study then go to sleep. He did have a test tomorrow in algebra and he needed to pass it in order to get an A in that class. But it was hard to focus on studying when all he could think about is Alessandra.

After the little conversation Alessandra had raced up the stairs and started on her homework. She wasn't distracted too much but every time she did get distracted she started doodling his name on the page. She had to erase at least fifteen times before she'd finished what she had to do. She crawled in bed after that, being exhausted and not really caring to change into pajamas because she always had another pair for the uniform that she could wear. She actually had one for each day of the week and they were cleaned every Saturday.

Jake got tired after 2 hours of studying. He thought that he studied too much though and might have dream about everything that he memorized. He was already in his night clothes thanks to the shower. Jake turned on his alarm clock, then thought for a minute if he should leave late just so he could wait for Alessandra to walk by on her way to school. Of course she would pass his house since both if their schools are in the same direction. He soon dozed off into a good nights sleep.

The alarm rang in the morning and Alessandra woke up with a start. Of course it had to come in during the most perfect part of the dream. She'd been holding hands with her dream boy and was about to kiss him but it had vanished with a loud beep. She scrambled to get her alarm turned off and upon realizing she was still in yesterday's clothing she groaned slightly. The next step was easier.

Switching into the next day's set she put her shoes on and raced down the stairs with her bag. Her mother was there but her father had already left to go to work at his law firm that he practically owned. There was breakfast made for her, a pleasant surprise and likely that it was because of the previous night that they had spoken slightly, though with her father's interruptions. She forked down the food, though made sure to eat slow enough to please her mother.

"Bye mum," she said with a chipper tone as she waved and went out the door. She would be on time for once today.

Jake woke up late just as he planned, yes he might be late for school but he still gets to walk with Alessandra. He took another shower to waste time and then made him some breakfast staring out of the front window of his house. He was wearing a blue shirt with worn-out black jeans. Eating slowly, he looked at the clock.

Alessandra had already started on her way to school, hugging her bag to her because she was a tad bit cold, regretting that she hadn't brought a jacket today. She was glancing each way occasionally in case someone would sneak up on her. Whenever someone came out of their hosue she'd start running but a block later she'd slow down again.

"I'm being silly," she said to herself. "I shouldn't be nervous about walking to school."

She was in front of his house but she wasn't aware of that. She was talking to herself too and finally she put her bag over her shoulder and slowly started walking again.
