okay, the back flower bed is now planted. the small flowers for the front bed are soaking in water for the planting early in the morning. there really isn't anything I can do for the roses tonight ... except maybe putting them in their pots in the bathtub tonight. which is probably the best idea. meanwhile, I am now wet because of messing in the water and yet still dirty in places. I am SO taking a shower before the roses get into the tub!!!

Ahem. Why would you put a rose in the bathtub?
...I'm not a gardener. At all.

So what went into the back flower bed?
And what kind of roses?

I tried roses once.
They died.
So for now I'm tending indoor plants.

the roses come in plastic containers when you buy them. they are in general totally root bound. so you need to break up the roots and then either drench them when you plant them or soak them in water over night.

and a cool trick! to get rid of aphids and all of those other nasty bugs that ruin your roses, pour soapy water over the plants! it's great and totally earth friendly!

In the back bed I put geraniums, dahlias, and, well, I don't remember what it's called, but it has those tall dusty slaks with a purplish tiny flower all the way up the stalk. they're really pretty and attract butterflies.

I LOVE cherry blossoms! my grandparents planted cherry trees ... it took like 2 seasons for ONE tree to produce. the others never did produce. and the one tree still only produces like 10 cherries a year. it's real weird.

mine are just decorative. they don't actually produce any cherries. ^^;

i do however have an apple tree back there too, and it has made little apples this year. they're the size of quarters. lol x3 we've only lived in this house for about 2 years and the people who lived in it before us were the ones who planted it, so this is the first year it's made fruit. i'm so excited about it. i know they're probably full of worms since we didn't spray for insects when it was blooming, but just the idea that it's making apples makes me happy. ^_^

*doesn't see a double post*
well, I lived in a place that the side acre and a half was all pear trees. but, since nobody had bothered to water the trees properly or keep up with the pruning, the pears were like bitter rocks!

I've been meaning to ask this for the longest time - how do you guys get the dragons with asterisks next to 'em, like Pikapi has? D:
What do they mean? xDD

Edit: NEVERMIND. @[email protected]
I just realized Pikapi put 'em in to separate each dragon from the next... xD;

Well, my question is now this: What does that little symbol mean next to certain dragons' genders? It's like an asterisky thing too, but I think it has to do more with seasons, or ... something.
