Tired and depressed. I just missed catching a Vampire egg from Fading. T_T I'm hoping the guy who caught it is actually signed up on the Dragon Cave forums.

They need to develop a more reliable way of trading.

That's why I support the Teleport option that they are making for the Magi dragons. It's not looking like this person is part of the forums. Or if he/she is, they don't care that it was a gift.

Teleport is the secure trading/gifting action that Magi dragons will be getting. . . eventually. By putting teleport in, AP trading will be taken out of the game.

The AP itself will stay in the game, but people will be unable t target an egg with the 'get egg' code. You will still abandon all but one egg from each bred clutch of eggs, and you will still be able to abandon eggs/hatchlings any time--outside of the 5 hour wait with CBs.

I really can't wait for it to be put into action. I kinda thought this was going to happen--me missing the egg. I'm on FIOS, but that's still not a T1 line. And having been to college, I know that your can work your schedule to have plenty of time between classes to use the Computer Labs. . .

Yeah. I'm almost positive that I'm not getting that egg back. They might recheck the LiT thread to see if it got updated, but. . . . yeah. Most of the eggs/hatchlings in the Lost in Trade thread are Vampires. . .

Meh, if the mystery person doesn't already have an army of Vampires, good for them. I hope it hatches.

Some people don't like the secure trade option because, bluntly, rarer breeds of dragons usually give one egg clutches when they breed. So as it is now, they have to abandon the one egg, and pray their friend gets it. That egg is actually open for EVERYONE in the world to grab. So it's a little tricky to keep rares between a select group of friends. ((My comment here; note that this does not prevent rare eggs from becoming exclusive/being hoarded by a few people. It actually prevents people with slower connections/older computers that can't load/reload pages fast from getting the rare eggs.))

They say that by making a secure trade, rare eggs will completely disappear from the AP, because everyone will just use the secure trade option to give eggs to their friends.

I kinda laugh at that. Not all rares give one egg clutches, and the ones that do you would usually keep anyway, unless you bred it as a gift/trade for a friend. And in that case, most traders know the code trick to tell people, so that they can catch the egg. . . . usually.

Another thing they say is that many DC players don't have accounts on the forums, and you cannot communicate with other players outside of the forums. So those people would be left out of the trading loop. So they wouldn't get any rares.

I honestly want to know, how many people not of the forums have problems keeping their eggs/hatchlings alive long enough to grow into adults. If the forums can be translated, there's no real excuse for not at least looking them over. If the pages can't be translated, then that does make sense why someone wouldn't sign up--the forums are all English. But honestly, if you go on forum sites, you probably end up signing up for the DC forums--if only to look up information on how to raise your dragons.

StarDragon; The people who don't like it 'll get over it. :B Personally, I LOVE the idea. o 3o And besides, I seriously doubt that it'll keep the rare eggs away from everyone else. If nothing else, someday I'll get lucky and have a pair of rares I can breed, then abandon the eggs so others have a shot. For every jerk who wants to keep the rares out of the AP, there'll be a not jerk who wants to try and keep 'em in. :3

exactly. Once I have a rare to breed, I'll be letting its eggs fall into the hands of the masses once a week, unless I get multiple eggs, then I'll keep one to increase my stock of breeding (for the masses)

The Trade option just means people can make requests of me when they desperately need one (and have no chance on the AP)

I never go onto the DC forum unless I see something new in the caves and go, "Huh? Where did that come from?" :lol:

Heck, I've never even visited the site until over a year after I got a scroll :sweat:

If I ever need views and clicks, I just go to Soti's Emergency. Before I found out the existence of an ER site though, I just spam my eggs out on Gaia. One of the benefits of having no double-post/spam rules...:roll: Though of course, now that I've quit, I have to rely on my (legit) postings on Mene and sometimes Soti if I have too many eggs and can't fit them all into my signature.

:D thank you (insert majority of credit to Voidstate's Exalted Name Generator here) I try to name all of them, but I imagine some day I'll just not be able to take it anymore, and stop. Hopefully, that won't be for a while though :XD

lol Most of my dragons remain unnamed because I always wait for the right inspiration to strike before finding a suitable dragon to give the name to xD

My Vines were all named with help from Google though, I looked up for some scientific names of plants. xD

I have the perfect name for a Thunder dragon right now, but still haven't been able to get one xD;

I don't have any of the legendary trio. I'm looking out for them though.
