This is the one I realllly want to make a squiby- i've made a ceramic version of him that's adorable- and I just love this one so much <3

but i wrote a story with him in it and he really eats fruit

I really like your stuff. I wish you were on squiby you would do really well. You know when to add detail and when to hold back. Often times my biggest mistake is adding too much and making it look like crap.

*Blushes a lot* Thank you bunches. I normally just add a little bit more detail to what the main focus of whatever my picture is- like in the birdy-worm picture- the focus was the relationship between them so I put most of the details there..

I'm just getting into shading now because of my drawing class- in the past I like very white and crisp drawings but i'm getting more into shading things- i start out with just a little bit like in the other two pics...

That's smart to put most of your attention and detail in the main focus of the picture. I'm glad your taking classes. I know some people get down on how you don't really need art classes but I've always found learning even basics is a good way to improve an already good skill. I really wish I could take a landscape painting class.

Oh I'm not very good at painting. So i'm going to take a painting class XD

You know- some people don't NEED to take classes but taking classes can really help to broaden your scope and ideas. Before I took this class I could draw okay but I could really only use like a pencil- or ink with a nib. I couldn't really pull myself outside that.
But being in this class has really pushed me outside my artistic comfort zone and said HEY TRY THIS OR ELSE lol. ANd I've really loved it. I started the semester with a pencil self portrait and I am gonna end it with a oil pastel self portrait because now I love the stuff.. I love the amount of color you can just flop on in a short amount of time and mixing them makes some great color <3
I also learned to love charcoal more than pencil and conte more than charcoal XD

Ya I had a friend who was awesome at drawing and she took art in college and she is even more awesome now. I think it just helps refine and ,like you said, broaden your ideas. I'm actually most comfortable with a paintbrush in hand, more so than a pencil, but honestly it's mostly self taught. I also have a knack for seeing something and being able to paint an almost identical image. Though I really love creating and coming up with crazy stuff. I also love almost all mediums and love trying them out. It's been good and bad. Good because I have got to experience so much and get somewhat good with most of it. Bad because I'm not really good at any of it, lol. Painting is more natural to me though. My Grand Dad passed away recently which was hard because he was a painter like me. He worked with oils rather than acrylics but we both shared that love of art. It's weird not having him around and talking about art. I was happy though that he wanted me to have his art stuff. Oh my gosh I'm rambling aren't I . . sorry Im a bit out of it I thjink

I wish that I really had someone who was artistic like me to talk to. I mean my little sister will probably be good in a few years but right now it's just something she likes to do as a 10 year old you know?
My mom wants to be an art teacher but she doesn't really draw like I do. She's more a ceramist kinda person. That's her thing and I'm only good at making little monsters with ceramics.
I don't really know how good I am with everything but I know a lot of what I learned in high school is pretty much wrong. Teacher told me never to smudge and smear my drawings and the first thing my new prof did was get out a paper towel and started to smear that shit in XD

Paper towels are great for that btw- just as a tip XD

I like sculpting but I don't have anywhere to do it. I'm not into the potting wheel but I do like sculpting. Not great at it but I like it.
They told you to never smug or smear? It all depends on the technique you want to use and the effect you are going for.

Nice job! I love eyes! I draw eyes all the time. One of the places I lived my room mate hated me cause I had all these random eyes plastered on my wall and it really freaked her out, lol
