To all participants, KNOCK IT OFF. This is Mene, not Gaia. We're supposed to be NICE here. To Box and Emo, I'm about to call a mod on you both. Have a nice day.

Also, to Emo, I must say that you're really not helping your own case on the intelligence point. Comebacks on the "I know you are, but what am I?" level only serve to make you look...well, stupid.

As do childish insults. *coughcough*EVERYONEINTHISFIGHT*coughcough*

So seriously. Stop it, NOW. Both of you. What good does it do to argue over the internet, anyway? It doesn't make you cool, it doesn't make you smart, it just wastes time, and it's quite unneeded in a community that is supposed to be FRIENDLY.

...and just so I'm not completely off-topic...hurling silly and childish insults over the internet! Needless to say, that's another of my online language pet peeves.
yes ill stop i promise... so it was u who made me loose money... oh well ill just make friendly posts more n den ill get money... :D

im sorry

Ahahahahaha! I'm sorry, abbreviationed make me really laugh. You know the correct word is actually more abbreviated right? lol. Best laugh of the day.

Another spelling pet peeve I have is leaving out vowels... really, why? What is the benefit?
ds ths lk ny gd? Hell no and it's freaking hard to read.

Speaking of, emochild103 you might think your typing is easier to read because it's shorter but it's really not. I gave up on your posts at page 5 because it took too long to work out what you were getting at. Plus the red text didn't help.

I hope you don't make threads like that, it would hurt my eyes.

i usually checked/read first before i send anything, including sms, because sometimes eventhough we've mistakenly wrote just one letter, it'll become another words, which im afraid will give a bad meaning.. *since it happened a few times to me XD*

Agreed, I can stand grammar and some spelling not used correctly. Because I don't use it 100% correctly myself. BUT I can't stand text talk, it makes me sick too my stomach looking at how people type like 10 year olds. It takes too much time to read and it's simply annoying.

I don't do it on purpose, but I am sure I am one of the worst spellers here. I run every thing though fire fox, but, if I have spelled the word right, and it the wrong word, it still get though. This happens the most when I miss a letter. Like, for example, If I want to say this, but type tis instead.

Your typing is fine, text talk is abusing it though.
Misspellings are nothing, and understandable. (I just spelled nothing as "ntohing" and didn't mean too) >< *fixes it.*

Heh I know what you mean.

I read lots of bad fanfiction for fun, so I see grammatical/bad spelling errors all the time. I'm pretty immune to it now, but I guess it can be pretty annoying. But some people really do have medical...issues though... Maybe like ADD or something, and it's hard for them to be perfect. Or those who occasionally misspell a word (like me!), and usually feel bad when we realize it.

I hate it when they spell like idiots and don't give a shit about it.
But I don't mind when people make minor spelling errors. It's easy to tell the difference between someone who genuinely tries, but just can't for whatever reason, and someone who is just an asshole.

It takes me far longer to type in chatspeak. Of course, maybe that's because I have to remember to not type everything out?

Yes, yes, yes. I can forgive it on words that are hard to spell, though. But I still spell-check all of my posts. As a IRL writing tutor, though, I'm becoming more desynthesized by misspelling (I think I just spelled something wrong in this post). :|

@momus-- Do you mean desensitized? XD
Desynthesized isn't a word, as far as I know.

@emochild103-- The bright red isn't really a problem, though it would be nicer if you had a more toned down shade or something. It is a bit harsh on the eyes.
The problem is that your posts are ludicrously hard to read. Typing like that affects you negatively. A lot of people will either take you less seriously or just skip over your posts entirely. Perfect grammar isn't necessary, but at least trying to spell is all I ask.

It annoys me when people write things in the forums and then do not reread or spell check the words before submitting the item.

It is almost as though they do not care about how they are represanting themselves.

As for me the spell check is not working on my computer so i have to rely on something called a Dictionary a big book that spells the words and also gives their meanings.(or the online dictionary)

It depends on their excessive amounts of errors, really.
I hate it when people spell incorrectly on purpose above all. I'm quite picky on how certain people talk to me, but I don't tell them to change; I just ..complain about it to someone else or else where.

Chat speak and changing between upper and lowercase letters are also annoying. D:<
Words don't need to have a certain style-- if they want style, change the font!
>_<;;

You know what's even more irritating?
When someone makes a grammar Nazi-esque post and there are spelling or grammar errors in it.

I've seen multiple people say "and I hate it when people use bad grammer."

If you're going to be a Nazi, fine! But do it right! XD

I'll correct someone in my head when they're speaking to me. My parents have used the phrase "either" multiple times, and everyone pronounces it eeh-thur. I say eye-thur, so there's always a correction.

My pet peeve? Being able to hear someone eat and condescending authority figures. Why people talk down to others because they have a badge is beyond me.

I mean, if it's the occasional word that's being misspelled, I'm okay with it. People make mistakes all the time. (I combined cereal and serial to make sereal once... ;>.>)

I don't like it when people misspell words or use the wrong grammar. It's okay if they do it a few times, but if I tell you that it's he's not his ten times, then you shouldn't get it wrong again.
1337 is even worse. >_>

Another pet peeve is when people get into my personal space. Really, is there a need to stand THAT close to me? I can't breath properly and I can see your pores. D<
