"Where's Damien?" a voice hissed over the phone, it was one of the vampires he had met on the way over here. She'd already given the signal for a few to follow them and they would be at the situation shortly.

"Why should we listen to the short one?" the leader hissed at Alec. He merely latched his hand onto the leaders wrist and twisted it. It looked so easy for him, like he was breaking a toothpick. "You'll regret this, besides I have companions on the way."

Yukina grolwed back."it depends on who this is",she said in a frightenly dangerous voice."if you had anything to do with whats going on now you wont like me",she was quit surprised at how hostile she was acting.

She then looked up at the leader."what do you want with Damien!",she said fearcefully.She wanted to walk right up to him and ..and...well she didnt know butshe just wanted to get damien out of there hold.

The female vampire, who so happened to have a very caring attitude towards Damien gave a low growl over the phone. "If you hurt him in any way shape or form I will kill you," she snarled then. "If you don't tell me exactly what is happening I will figure out how to get there myself and snap your neck."

Damien felt his arm twist slighlty and it was actually painful. A few of them had lighters and were holding them up to him and finally one just bit him. He didn't know what to do because he'd never felt this helpless since he'd changed.

Alec had already managed to get the leader to flee in terror and a few of the others ran with them. There were only two or three left holding Damien down at the moment but that was enough to render him useless.

Yukina looked at the phone."Damien is getting attacked!",she said droping the ohone and then her demon side witch rarely ....and i enfensise on rarely ever shown came out.Her eye went black and she charged at the vampires.In one swift motion she was on top on one of them."LEAVE HIM ALONE!",she said in utter furrie.

It didnt take he long to nock the one vamire down so she moed onto the next one.The only bad thing about your demon sences kicking in is that they dont go awayuntil the demon is sure every thing is safe.Hec if it was bad enough Yukina would black out,and go after the other vampires who had attacked Damien,

Alec backed away from the situation when he saw the change in Yukina. He had a somewhat surprised expression and when most of the vampires were either dead or gone he still couldn't move. Those who had been planning on coming stood a few blocks away. They sensed they weren't needed so they got back into their vehicles and drove off.

Damien was so distracted by the fact that he was finally free from the crushing weight of three vampires that he didn't realize that they had managed to bite him at least three times on his arm. It was painful but not as painful as it could have been.

Yukina watched some of them flee and made a verry teritoral righten growl befor takeing a teep breath then her eyes went bacl to normal and she bent down beside Damien."here let me see your woonds",shesaid in a soft almost timmid voice.A drastic change from the savge voice of anger that had just been there moments earlyer.She didnt look him in the eyes.She felt to ashamed to.

"I'm fine and I could have taken care of them myself," he grumbled in a low voice. He stood up slowly, he healed quickly but his pride was hurt at the moment. Alec could tell this and decided it would be best not to make any comments on the state of Damien's clothing. His shirt was almost completely obliterated and it was likely that it was his only shirt at the moment.

Yukina sighed slightly and stayed quit.She felt ashamed ...stupid and whtaever else she could think of at the moment.Her cat ears were down and as flat as posible.Now she wasnt sure what to do or say.

All Yukina wanted to do was help him now Damien was upset.And she had no idea how to make him feel better.So she just stood ther stareing at the ground.

He let out a sigh and when he looked at her he felt guilty also. He was tempted to run. How could he have hurt her. He crouched down on the ground when he'd gotten about a block away and didn't move.

"You might want to talk to him," Alec suggested. "His pride is hurt."

Yukinalooked up at Alec and nodded.She ran astoped to catch up with him.When she funal found him she stoped.She made her way over to him and took a seat beside him."Damien?",she said in a soft voice."are you alright?",she asked and gently touched his shoulder."im sorry if i upset you",she said looking down."its just that ... i didnt like seing you in pain and i wanted to help you'

He straightened himself slightly, still feeling a little glum and nodded slightly. She was right, he had needed a bit of help and she had been there, which meant that she would help him.

"Thank you," he said. "I'm not used to needing help though. I'm sorry."

Yukina blinked."your sorry for what?you didnt do anything",he said lifting his head up to look at him."everone falls down at times and its always good have people there for you"

She felt enbarced by doing that but she had to cheer up Damien some how."besides youve helped me alot of times..."

He finally stood up and wrapped his arms around her. He buried his face slightly in her hair, trying to hide the fact that he was so frustrated. He didn't really have any words and he realized he could have easily been killed in that situation.

Cain's coven had come to realize that he was sticking to their agreement more strictly than they had imagined and were frustrated that they couldn't punish him, which was they had let him get attacked by the other coven.

Yukina blushed darkly and huged him.She was just thankfull he was okay.After a bit she smiled."lets go home",she said in a soft voice.And shivered slightly.Her hair was still damp from the showershe had takken and just wanted to get inside.

Even though she didnt know everything about Damien or what was going on but she was happy that he was okay for the most part."im glad your okay",she said quitly.

Damien let go of her but he was quiet. He would be quiet for a while, or at least until he could restore his pride. When he managed to do that he would feel a lot better than he did now. He nodded slightly to answer the question and moved forward. He had reached for her hand though, wanting to know that she was safe.

His head was lowered still, like a dog who just been punished for something terrible. It showed not only in his stature but also his expression. It would take a bit to get over this mistake but he would eventually overcome it.

Yukina smiled and took his hand as they walked.Now it was just silent and Damien looked mizerabull.She couldnt do anything.All the negativity made her feel depressed.She was happy to see her apartment building.

She unlocked the main door and headed up the stairs still holding his hand.Almost like she was scared to .After getting to her main apartment she went in and looke at him."i'll get you a new shirt",she said softly and headed into anither room.

He was lightening up a bit as they walked. The movement helped him process a few things and made him realize that the attack had been unavoidable. If he had managed to avoid it he wouldn't be hurt and there was a chance that Yukina could be hurt. He nodded when she said she would get him a shirt and then noted how his mood was rubbing off on her.

"I'm sorry if I'm causing any trouble," he said sheepishly. "I can leave if you want me to."

Yukina ran out to him."NO! .... i dont want you to leave",she said with a paniced look in her eyes."i-i like haveing you around",she said as she griped the shirt she had brought out for him.

"i thought i was causeing you truble for you",she said looking down."p-please dont leave",she said as a tear fell down her face."im sorry",she said in a soft tone.

She defently did not want him to leave.She defenetly cared about him.

He took the shirt, listening to her protests and put it on. She was still holding it by the time he managed to get it on but he didn't mind. Maybe he should stay, but wasn't he putting her in danger. She was in danger when he was there no matter what and he couldn't do anything about it.

"Fine," he said as he wiped away her tear. "I won't leave."

Yukina blinked and looked at him and smiled."promise?",she asked as she let go of the shirt."sorry",she said and smiled slightly.She then blinked feeling a drafed comeing from her room.She poked her head in."oh yah ...forgot about that",she said and went to get a broom.

She went back into the room and swept the glass off her floor then looked at her bed.It had glass on it to."great..."

"What happened here?" he asked calmly, well as calmly as he could.

He'd followed her into the bedroom in a lazy stupor, not really registering anything. In this state he was less likely to be able to calculate someone's movements and could easily be taken advantage of again. The swiftest way for him to get out of this was to zone out for a few minutes, which rarely happened.

Yukina looked at him."nothing you need to worry aabout",she said as she tossed the sharted glass into the trash bin and she turned to him."you go rest on the couch"

Yukina then picked up the peaces off the bed carfully and also threw them out.She then looked at him and takeing his hand she brought him over to the coucand made him sit down."just rest okay?",she said and without thinking she gently kissed his forhead.

When she relized what she did she stoped."im sorry",she said and went to look threw her place for something to bord up the window.

Damien allowed her to lead him back to the couch and he sat there senseless for a moment. He was a bit shocked when she kissed him on the forehead and did not know how to react. He shifted slightly but then laid down and wished he could sleep.

He just laid there staring at the opposite wall wondering what it would be like to sleep again. He couldn't be knocked unconscious and he was jealous of the humans who could fall asleep.

Yukina walked out of a stoage closed found a bord and brough it into her room.After putting it up she went back into the liveing room."i-iknow you cant sleep but you should at least clse your eyes",she sad sitting on the floor beside him.

"i also know you cant dream but if you close your eyes and piture tings that make you happy ... its like dreaming",she said looking at him."sorry if im getting anoying ...i'll just shut up now",she said and went silent.

"You're not getting annoying," he said as he closed his eyes.

All he could see now was pitch black. It was a bit haunting for him because he hated the idea of being surrounded by nothing. He wanted her to keep talking since it cooled is nerves and he was on edge at the moment. He didn't want to speak though.
