Craven raised an eyebrow at the last comment. "Well, why don't we stop at some cafe or something and grab some hot grub and you can use the Lady's Room." He crumpled the wrapper of the burger and surpressed a belch. "I'm so hungry!" he said looking through the nearly empty bag of foods.

[[he's got an appitite like me! hehe, well kinda. >_> he doesn't get sick when he eats as much as he wants.... oh well lol ]]

"SOunds great." Odette put on a fake smile and pulled into town. She drove through the main street, searching for a diner. Finally, she found a quaint little place and pointed, "Here?" she asked.

Craven nodded. "Looks fine to me." Something smelled funny about Odette, but for the moment he wasn't overly concerned. She was probably worried about being a lesser in greater territory. However, Craven was used to it. He was an entertainer for many and sticking out suited him. Even in the Greaters land he was unafraid, he had played and sung for many places, clubs, parties, a few concerts. Greaters seemed to be able to forget he was a so called lesser because of his talents, and beauty was truly something they appreciated when it came to the arts. He chuckled to himself, as he wondered about his career. Would it survive this little escapade?

Odette pulled in and parked. She got ou of the car and waited for Craven.

CRaven got out of the car and followed Odette, and then opened the door for her. "After you Det." he said, smiling teasingly at her.

{I don't know, I think i prefer to call her Odie, than Det.]

Odette walked in and found a booth. She waited until Craven sat down before she did. Then she waited for him to speak, so she could just slip it in there. She didn't know how to start.

Craven sat and curled his tail around so that most of it lay in his lap instead of under his rear. A young woman in a green and black uniform came to take their order.
"What'll ya have?" she asked with disinterest in her voice as she stared down at her notepad.
CRaven gave her a beaming smile. her name tag read 'Kara' and he chuckled. "Kara's a lovely name, but is that really your name?"
"I don't crap where I eat, now please, your order?"
"Ahh, but you can always find another place to get a check." he winked. "Plus you look like you could use some time to relax." he put a sultry enphasis on the last word. The girl rolled her eyes and Craven chuckled once again. "Largest most meaty burger you have on the menu, and a very large pepsi."

Craven looked back to Odette and sighed. "I'm losing my touch." he said shrugging.

Odette pursed her lips. She ordered a hot chocolate with extra whipped cream and a caesar salad.

Craven's tail began to wag and he stilled it with a hand. However it looked quite strange to anyone not able to see the tail. "So how many days we got left til the vamp drops the kid?" he asked.

[Yup.]

Odette rolled her eyes up, counting, mouthing the numbers. "Uh, seven or eight," she said. "I ran into you yesterday, right?"

"yes, yesterday." he said afirming her.

[[ sorry my responses are so slow, and short, I'm getting pulled in every direction its driving me crazy and I keep having to leave.]

"Kay then, we have eight days left." She paused and bit her lip. Then, she blurted out, "Craven, I need to talk to you about something. Well, confess really."

Craven looked at her with a perplexed expression. "Go for it." he said simply. He wondered if it was something major or just her needing to clear the air for whatever reason. Sitting back he took a casual position and waited for her to start.

Odette took a deep breath. "Well, lately, I seem to be making a lot of mistakes. Lying to those who are trying to help me and the such. I know I wont be able to tel them the truth because I'll probably never see them again, but I can tell you and get it all out and I hope you wont hate me after this." She cringed a little. "Well, firstly, my name is Odette Swan. I am 19, I am a shapeshifter, and I am a Lesser. I was a spy for the Lessers until quite recently when I killed my boss and got rid of the chip he used to control me. I had two brothers. One, a werewolf, was killed in battle. The other, a vampire, hates me. For a time, I wished I coudl become a vampire so I could be accepted by my only family. I don't want that anymore. I just want this to be over. I have a bad temper, so sometimes I hurt people when I dont mean to." Odette put her head on the table and let out a deep breath.

Craven huffed out a deep breath. And stood walking over to sit next Odette, he put an arm around her. "Listen Odette, I know how it feels to be alone... I lost my clan, and everyone who ever meant anything to me... Even Delaine the one who saved me... I mean, she's around but we're from different worlds and its not like I can be with her in any fashion." He rubbed her back a little and sighed. "I know it doesn't mean a lot, because you don't really think all the highly of me in the first place I'm sure, but I'm here for you. You're the closest thing to family I've got and I'll always watch your back..."

(not that it matters all that much, but just so you know anyways, I'm probably not going to be able to get online again until Monday at the earliest, but probably not 'til Tuesday.)

Odette lifted her head. "Family? We've known each other like three days." She wiped her eyes and sniffed a little.

Craven chuckled. "I'm a wolf, I know a good person when I smell 'em. " He patted her shoulder and looked at her with a warm brotherly expression. " 'Sides, we're both alone at least for now. We could use the back up." He laughed a little and sighed. "So what do you say, want to be clansmen?"

Odette frowned and scrunched her eyebrows. Then, her face softned. "Sure,' she whispered.

Craven smiled a little and returned to his seat. His tail steadily wagging now. "I wonder why a kid who could destroy the world would even be able to come into this world?" The waitress came and placed thier orders in front of them and then left. Craven took a few bites and then continued. "I mean, things like that usually have a purpose... And I can't see what the purpose of a world destroyer would be, after all someone here has to gain something."

Odette tentatively sipped her hot chocolate. It was hot, and she was still moping a bit. The idea of actually belonging was begining to grow on her. She now had a third brother, one who wasn't dead, no did he hate her. Out of the blue, she stated, "We need a plan."

"live fast, die hard?" he offered and then sighing a little he added in a more serious tone. "I know, I've been trying to get one together since you went to sleep last night. " he shrugged indicating that he'd not come up with much.

"Well, I can't come up with much either," she said, her hands palm up on the table in surrender. She went over a map of the Greater lands in her head. She knew the map, but it didn't help much when you didn't know where you were. "So, where exactly is this...Delaine, was it? From there, if she can tell us where the prgnant vampire is, then we'll go there, destroy the baby, and probably the mother. But if she can't tell us, what do we do?"

CRaven looked at Odette his face completely serious. "I don't want to kill the mother if we can avoid it." He sighed and thought a moment. "The kid, alright its a threat, but there was nothing ever said about the mother. And I won't kill an innocent woman for nothing."

Odette's eyes met his. She breathed a sigh of relief. "I don't want to kill her either. I tried to argue for the kid, but they said we had to kill it. 'It's better that one being perish than a whole nation,'" she quoted her thoughts from that day.
