Lland pretended to sip at whatever it was she was holding, while thinking about her current 'job'. The best information she could get was from a dunk who had been laying in the middle of the road asking for his face back. He didn't seem all that credible. Bastards who run this place know nothing about it. Secrets are well kept in dark places.

It had to be small, this Cadrian group. Or els more would be known about them, there would be people selling what they knew. Small, and loyal. Perhaps a group that knew each-other well. Perhaps even one person. That was always the best way to keep oneself disregarded.

She got up, sliding her arm over the table so that the glass would spill and fragment over the floor. This whole city is filled with idiots. The Elf had better be finding something. She left the bar, leaving no money for the drink or the glass.

Allene wept as she lay on the hard wood floor. She needed to find out what was happening, why she hurt inside and why she was loosing control.

Craven sighed. "Then lets not kill the baby, lets find it. Maybe its not evil, just because it might be powerful doesn't mean that it has to die. It could be on our side for all we know, or it might be just a baby of importance that the hag wanted dead." perhaps it was the moon approaching that made him so caring of the child and mother, he didn't know really and didn't care. IT was wrong to kill this kid and this mother without proof.

Odette smiled. Well, Craven seemed to be quite nice. He would make someone a nice husband and father some day. Just not her. She was broken. No one would ever want her now. "Well, what do we do?" She was completely stumped. Her head hurt and she didnt want to have to plan everything out. What they would do if the baby was good, or evil, or if the mother was good or evil, or if they were too late and the world was destroyed, or if they were too late and someone else killed them before they could find out if they were good or not. There were too many possibilities to consider. She rubbed her eyes. Stupid war. It was going to make her go prematurly gray.

Niniel wandered down the streets on the Neutral side of the city, looking for anyone who was wiling to help her, but no one seemed interested in helping a lost elf. She eventually began looking in different bars and cafes. She needed food, and the smell coming from those places was just not helping, but she knew that people would be gathered there, and she needed weapons and advice as well before she met up with Lland in a day or two.

He looked at her with a combination of warm brotherly affection and bewilderment. Someone had hurt her so deeply that it skewed her view of herself. Craven wished he knew who that bastard was, so he could rip out their entrails. Sighing softly and not betraying his thoughts he looked out over the room and smiled as a pretty faced young boy strolled up to their table.

"Mr. Cole?" he asked and Craven nodded. "My master sends his deepest appology for not being able to attend to you personally. However, he requested that I give you this." He slipped a white envolope onto the table.

"You smell of death, you should bathe more often between feedings." Craven said with distain. "Tell your master I send my thanks and that his debt is repaid." The boy bowed his head in return and in the time it took to blink was gone entirely.

"I hate that about them, they leave such a rank oder, and you let them out of your sight a moment and they vanish." He sighed and pulled open the envelope. "Apparently we're heading to Border City." he said simply.

Odette was glad to have somewhere to actually go. Some order was restored to her hectic life. It gave her a bit of peace of mind. She perked up a little. "What's in Border City?" She picked at her food.

Craven's lips where persed together in a tight thin line, then he seemed to shrug off whatever was bothering him and his expression became soft once more. "Apparently a Harpy and an Elf looking for the child as well," he said and crossed his arms over his chest leaning back in his chair. "there's also a nest of rather ... pious vamps who have set up camp around there. I'm thinking that there might be a reason for that." He strummed his fingers on his forearm thinking and waiting for Odette's input.

Faul rolled over, bowling the fox off the bed, then following it down himself. For a second he lay dozing, then he pushed himself up, expecting to see a dimly lit room with a half-supported shelf in the corner. As he opened his eyes though, his vision cleared and revealed the decent space. Remembering where he was, then that he had a roommate, Faul turned to make sure ... Niel had not seen his morning IQ.

Niel heard a noise and roused. Seeing Faul he mumbled some thing along the lines of "mornin" though there was only exhaustion and a bit of annoyance in his tone. He hated mornings. After a few moments he felt a bit better and spoke. "How far out do you think we are? And how much longer til we get to port?" He felt the rocking of the ship and it made his stomach churn, he was beginning to wonder about his choice in transportation.

Odette smiled. "Great, now maybe we can get this over with." Then she frowned, because a thought occured. "But what if they want to destroy the child without solid evidence? I think we need to stop them."

[So, now we're on a mission to save a vmapire instead of kill it?]

Craven nodded. "We will don't worry." He looked down allowing his blue-black hair to fall over his eyes and shield most of his emotions. "We will." Craven refused to look at Odette, he could feel the urge to change prickling at his skin, but he couldn't give in to that. For once he did, he'd find himself succoming to other far more dangerous urges as well. He moaned and folded his arms on the table burrying his face there. "If I sprout random tuffs of fur... Please tell me..." he said in a muffled voice. It was daylight but still the cycle of the moon called to his soul, emploring him to run free.

[[I guess, he's loyal to Odette and will follow her wish on the matter for the most part...]]

Craven didn't seem right. At his last comment, Odette remembered the thing about the full moon and mating. "Do we need to like, lock you up or something?" she asked, totally worried.

[Oh gosh, iI just used the word totally. i feel so preppy now.]

A groan eminating from deep in his chest and he shifted his head to look at her over his arm with one eye. "No... " he said flattly. "I've got a few more days... I'd only concent to the being 'locked up' for fun." he chuckled. "and that would just be awekward with my new familymember." he winked and hid his face once more in his arms.

[[ told ya, you're half prep :P]]

[[oh, btw if you want to do something like "they left the diner, and the night, or next morning whatever, arrived in border city," its okay with me. I don't imagine that they are more than a day away if that from it and we don't have to post our entire journey there. lol unless you want to ;)]]

Odette sat there, a little uncomfortable. She grimaced, in a way, and didn't know what to say. Finally, she cleared her throat. "Uh, so..." she started, trying to change the subject. "We need to revise our plan. Well, actually, we need to make a plan. I don't think we ever came up with anything."

"save the girl, of course" he chuckled and winked. "figure out the rest as we go?" he sat up and rubbed his temples. "Waitress, coffee!" he shouted to a girl a few tables over. She looked annoyed and slopped the scalding black sludge like liquid over Craven's hand as she poured for him. He didn't care, merely wiped it off on the seat next to him. Sipping it slowly he thought. "Okay, so we head to Border City, talk to the locals, find the nest, check it out look for someone with a big belly sweep her away, and wait for the kid to be born. It looks bad we kill it, if not.... We take the chance and be prepared to kill it later." he thought aloud. "What do you think?"

"GReat plan." Odette really dint know what to do. Anything sounded good to her right now. It would sound better if it didnt have to do with the war.

He nodded and stood. "I've been thinking..." he pulled out his wallet and dropped the appropriate amount on the table with aless then appropriate tip. "Its got to be the Greaters, they're using a vampire woman to bore this child. Obviously because they want its loyalty, and they think it will fight for its 'people'. But I don't see why they'd make something so dangerous it would kill everything in the world..." he paused and gripped the edge of the table leaning down a bit. "Unless they want to hit reset, so to speak. Start anew, with none of the Lessers around..." He looked at her and smiled a little. "You want to go?" He wanted to walk, get some of the twitching out of his limbs. As he waited for her response, his tail, which he had slipped through a slit in his jeans, waved happily.

It was starting to make sense to her. Of course, the greaters. "But how will it be powerful enough to kill everything? And wouldn't it kill the greaters too? Like, is it its strength, or some magic or what?" She stood up when he tossed the money on the table.

"I don't know... it just makes sense that it would be them... After all their arrogance is what started this war in the first place. I bet you anythin that the Lessers had nothing to do with the attempt on the stupid Greater leader's life. They probably did it themselves just so they could blame us...." he was a little angry but mostly annoyed with the greaters for their stupidity. "Lets walk a little while. I'm dying to play frisbee in the park." he winked at her and chuckled, trying to lighten the mood.

He dropped his head, seeing she didn't catch the joke. "Yeah, I guess so. I'm not used to this responsible thing." nor this whole watching out for little ones and being a 'role model' bit. he chuckled to himself. "I'd say I need to get laid... but thats exactly what I don't want with the moon coming up so soon, I don't any chance of pu---kids." he corrected himself. He stood straight, brushing a hand through his messy bedhead hair. Looking around he noticed that most people, males, had products in their hair suggesting that they had styled it to look messy. idiots.

[its okay. my brain pooped on the last one. i really only was going to post "Odette smirked." but i figured you needed more than that.]

Odette fell in step with Craven, letting him lead where he wanted to go. It felt good to have a brother again.

[I decided Im too lazy for color anymore. And for my future refernce, this was edited at 6:17. So I can tell the difference in time.]

Faul turned to Niel and smiled. "Oh, it'll still be a while. Its only been about eihteen hours since we left. You should enjoy it while it lasts." Faul stood and opened the window. It was to small to fit a head through, but that was more likely for safety. It wasn't like Faul knew a lot about ships anyway. "Plus, If the ship sinks, you wouldn't want to die waiting for something, would you?"

{Eighteen hours. More like a year.}
