Okay, so I have this condition called acne. Any teenager would know about it, correct? After all, those lovely things we have called hormones go haywire and cause all sorts of lovely problems, namely those wonderful little puss filled volcanoes on our skin. So naturally all adults should be familiar with it too, right?
Wrong.
I was in work one day, and as sometimes happens some of my scars and/or scabs peeked out from underneath the sleeve of my T-shirt. The woman next to me gawked at me as if I had lepresy and proceeded to exclaim(for all to hear) What's wrong with your arm, are you okay?!!
Seriously, I could understand if maybe she was like eight or nine and had never seen it before, but come on!
Unless of course she comes from some beautiful and perfect complexioned race of people who have never seen blemishs of any kind.
So please tell me:
Anything like this ever happened to you?
Why are adults acting like children these days?
Had enough of my sarcasm?

you should've told her it actually was leprosy. that's probably what i would've done, because when people are rude to me i'm rude right back. that she asked you such a question was uncalled for, hands down.
i have a big ganglion cyst in my right wrist and people ask me about it all the time. it annoys me so much because if it were any of their business, i would've told them before they had to ask. it might not seem like a big deal to some people, but i've always been taught it's rude to ask things like that.

I had one person ask me if I had a wart on my finger once...I told her that it had at one time been an extra finger. She just stared at me like she didn't believe it...so I told her to ask my mom if she didn't believe me.
And...it is true. I had an extra finger growing out the side of my right hand thumb when I was born...only to have it removed a couple of days later. it was only held on by a strand of skin...so my parents and doctor thought I might swallow it..since I sucked it. Once they took it off...I never sucked my thumb.
It does kind of get annoying when people ask me about it, but it's still kind of cool at the same time.

OK so I was at the beach one day with my friend and we were in the water by these big rocks and the waves were really tough. So i was there talking to my friend about this one girl i liked a a big wave and i mean BIG wave forms and we both look up at it and we were all like " OH SHIT RUN!!!!" So he was swimming away like a retart and I was just standing there putting my hands on my hips just looking at the wave thinking "wow thats a pretty big waves."
So here is comes crashing down of me and my friend. It smashed up against this huge rock and my knee banged into one of the rocks and an input of the little barnacles got into my knee and my leg was bleeding and everything. So me and my friend walk to the sand where it is all safe well thats what we think. But then another huge wave comes and everyone is like RUNNNN!!!! Then again with my retarted self I just stood there with my hands on my hips looking up at it thinking "wow that's even bigger then the last one." Until my friend came and grabbed me then we ran where it was saver.
We were breathing hard and this woman comes up to me and stares at my knee and i was like what the freak? so i asked " can i help you." then the woman was all like " OMG EWW WHAT THE FREAK IS THAT!!!?" all i thought at the time was how rude she look and was -.-

Stupid answers to stupid questions are certainly very fun.
I have always had acne.. and I still have some but thankfully not so much.. but I have much too many scars from it though and a lot of people wonder about the scars. XD On face and arms, and upper shoulders. But I used to be teased because I always had acne. Since the first day of my life xD

When I was little I had very fragile bones and broke them quiet often. I have had 14 total broken bones. Well a couple times they broke the skin leaving behind horrible scars....I try to hide most of them but some scars you just cant hide....like who wants to wear gloves for the rest of there lives....but I hate when people ask me about them...cause it brings up the horrors of my childhood....lets just say bones of glass where not my only problem.

I don't even notice if people have acne anymore. It just doesn't stick out at me. My face is mostly clear except for a few pimples that come and go every few days, but my face is the only one I notice. The woman who you're referring to needs to learn a few manners. Even if she had never seen acne on someone's arm before (which I highly doubt) she could have been much more polite about it.

o-o I haven't had anyone older than me do that to me.
But I have really bad skin, so I've been insulted a lot. *sighs* I have acne, chicken skin, and on top of that, I'm fairly overweight. :P Not the best package when it comes to beauty, huh?

There are things in this world people wont ever be accustomed to and thats skin scars and other deformities of the human body can come with sadley.
I still got me acne and its making my face really irritated.
The only thing people usually notice when I wear a swim suit is my stretch marks on the back of arms right by the armpit. There not bad just noticable. I don't paticularly like my skin cause its not the nicest in the land. My right middle finger too is bending a little weird and has these weird patroding bumps from writing to hard with them. These are just some uglies that I consider noticable about myself.

I do have a small rash-type-thing on my face at the moment. But no one has really asked me about it, and it's not particularly visible...
Other than that, I've been blessed with fairly nice skin. =D
But I have a bunch of scars on my arms from when I used to hurt myself. And people STILL sometimes come up to me and ask "What happened THERE?!"
Then I get irritated, and usually say something along the lines of "I fell out of a tree, into a pile of razorblades," or "I got into an epic gladiator battle with a cougar."
What the hell do they THINK happened? xD

I used have eczema--that stress induced rash--on the insides of my elbows. It was quite bad, they were always red, if not lumpy with some scabs. And then one day my gymnastics teacher grabbed my arm and demanded to know if I was doing drugs.
I know her heart was in the right place because she wouldn't be mean like that, but I am one of the last people on earth one should accuse of doing drugs. Even more so back then. I was the cute, innocent, shy girl. I was sweet and nice. Well, I guess they say it's always the quiet ones, but I thought her demand was rather ludicrous.

Hmmm, not all adults are acting like little children. Some do, but there are also decent adults out there. XD
I think that there is nothing wrong with asking what someone has when you see something is off about them and you are curious. Better that to keep staring at the spot that is off and pretend you do not even notice it.
I myself hate that kind of behaviour, I rather explain what it is then make them think all creepy stuff inside of their heads. And it makes me feel uncomfortable when they stare at it the whole time.
True is, that the way it should be asked, was not polite by that woman. But I do not think there is anything wrong with asking about it though. But in a polite manner.
A little example, I once went to the bank with a friend of mine to transfer some money. So this young man was behind the counter and he was going to help us. But instead of his right hand he had this little foot, it looked a baby foot.
Well I wasn't grossed out or anything, cuz I work in the health sector so I see pretty messed up things daily. Anyways, I couldn't help to be curious about it. I mean he was so handy with it, he even typed with them little toes and picked up things with it.
I was amazed, and I apologised to him for looking at it, because I did not mean to make him feel uncomfotable, and I said that I admired him for not hiding that his right hand was a foot, and that he was so handy with him.
He smiled and said it was because he had been born with it, so he was used to picking up things and doing stuff with it. Anyways, i think he appreciated the fact that I didn't sneaklily stare at it, but just said it.
I mean of course, sometimes you don't even want it to be mentioned, but something like that is hard to go unnoticed. And at least now he knew I was not grossed out by it.

Because they are. There is no other answer for that. Adults now-a-days are just kids. They don't grow up with the shit we have. They had it considerably better.

I never got any acne, I've hardly ever had a spot.
But that's because my skin is really, really dry, so I get dry patches and eczema popping up all over the place instead!
Be grateful for your acne! It'll actually delay you getting wrinkles when you're older, as the extra moisture in your skin now will help it to retain its elasticity in the future.
I'll probably be as wrinkly as a prune by the time I'm thirty. :(

I have a wart on this one pointer finger and I
always feel sorta irritated when someone's like "ew..."
or "What is that on your finger?" if you don't know what
it is...Don't ask. it's considered impoliteness. D;
But then again...it's not quite their fault is it?
Adults act child-like all the time. They can't help it. We've only just noticed. xD

Baja's acne never left scars. so, I can't say that that specifically happened to me, but other things like that have.
Like one time, a pen had leaked all over my hand, and this guy I worked with came up to me, grabbed my wrist, and was all, "Whats that?!" : o
I tried to tell him it was ink, but he proceeded to act like he just couldn't understand how ink can leak out of a pen. -.-

well, hate to tell you, but some, if not most people aren't exactly used to seeing it on people's arms. o.o
i'm not one of them, but i've seen a multiple of people freak out at the sight of body acne. it's just not, as they would say, "normal". ofcourse, what it really isn't is common.

A lot of people I know have acne. I used to have terrible acne on my face, chest, and back during middle school. Now, though, it's just barely there. It's all body type and hormones. It sucks to have, you're not alone. =]
Never heard of it being on your arm, though... Sounds more like an ingrown hair than actual acne.
