I write songs. I can't sing or play an instrument, but it's my preferred method of writing short things. ^^

My inspirations are generally Scott Weiland and Anthony Kiedis. They're both amazing song writers.

Come Slowly
Good lord, I don't know what I've done
I've killed the moon, I've killed the sun.
The moon did cry, the sun got mad
Earth keeps forgetting what she had.
The stars watch on but they don't know
The grass don't care cause it never snow.
Stood up my date with Father Time
Girl gonna die if she don't get in line.

This star's abortion died
Before you saw the light.
Destined to fade to black.
Do you know what I lack?
Have you gotten this disease?
Black plague was just a tease.

With peace on Earth the mountains rockin'
Hear all their noise and don't bother knockin'.
Cold war bring the mountains down
Don't bother clean up just go around.
World war nine on my front lawn
Moon gonna mourn you up 'till dawn.
Meteor come slowly with apocalypse
Can't stand waiting, drown in solar eclipse.

This star's abortion died
Before you saw the light.
Destined to fade to black.
Do you know what I lack?
Have you gotten this disease?
Black plague was just a tease.

Good lord, I don't know what I've done
I've killed the moon, I've killed the sun.

Cut
Bold ink, paper girl.
Break the girl,
Break her world.
Paper cut,
Make a cut
To the lifeboat stern; she's drowning.
Paper god
Make a cut
To the lifeline, not frowning.
Local celebrity
To virginity
'Cause she ain't dying.

I can't tell.
I can't read
In the smile, in the eyes.
Prove me wrong,
But we're losing this girl.

Never die,
Never cry,
Let everyone know.
Just a lie,
Give it time
Don't let it show.
Not me, it's the man
Faceless man.
Tell me, does he pay?
Does he pay?
He don't pay.
Happy day.

I can't tell,
I can't read
In the smile, in the eyes.
Prove me wrong,
But we're losing this girl.

Taken aback.
Take her back.
Come on, let me have her back.

Shallow Grave
Raped with poison,
You could bleach your hair.
Can't imagine why
He left you there.
Drank the mousetrap,
And now you're faded.
A final mindfuck,
To leave you jaded.

Dreaming away in your shallow grave.
Burn the poison in your shallow grave.

A nameless, faceless,
Another little whore.
Too easy surrender,
And you're left sore.
Playing with matches,
A girl can get fucked.
You could have turned around,
But now you're stuck.

Dreaming away in your shallow grave.
Burn the poison in your shallow grave.
It's so cold in this here shallow grave.
No one to lie to you in your shallow grave.
No one to find you in your shallow grave.
No one to kiss you in your shallow grave.
No one to miss you in your shallow grave.
But aren't you pretty in your shallow grave?

Second
Words with no meaning can hold only cats
I saw this long before I smelled the rats.
I can still cry, and I can mope well,
I can lie to you, say I'm doing swell.
It won't change the future, it won't change the truth.
It won't change the whisper; "Someone's uncouth."

A truth that is known to the die-hard fan,
Spock played Tennille to a red-blooded man.
Skipper was one-upped by a bafoon,
Dick's day ain't coming any time soon.
Something comes looming, we both know it's true.
Say what you want, dear. My eyes are for you.

Thank you! ^^

It's actually easier for me to rhyme than to not. Whenever I try not rhyming, the rhythm and flow gets all fucked up. XD So I just stick to rhyming. Though as a result, sometimes I have to scrap a choice in wording because I can't find anything good to rhyme with it. But it's a fair trade off.

Yeah, sometimes things come out awkward. But when they do, just edit it. Sometimes you have to totally scrap an idea for a line.
If you know something sounds awkward, then don't put it in. Try thinking of other ways to word it. Or just say something completely different. ^^

Rhyming seems easier if you've got a rhythm in your head.
I tend to write things with a melody in my head, since they're songs. I usually use melodies of songs that already exist. (Like, "second" was written to rhythm similar to "No Chump Love Sucker" by Red Hot Chili Peppers, and "Cut" was written to a melody similar to "Tumble in the Rough" by Stone Temple Pilots)
Just be careful not to make the thing you're writing have a similar premise or wordings to the song. Just use the melody in your head in order to keep a nice rhythm.
