I don't think it was a wise move for Activision/Neversoft to make a game called "Guitar Hero On Tour" and one called "Guitar Hero World Tour." That gets confusing. x_o

As far as Guitar Hero World Tour goes, the studio looks cool and all, but I'm willing to bet it won't be all it's cracked up to be. Then again, my mind could be blown. You never know.
And if the setlist rumors are true (mainly those of Muse and Interpol) then I'll be one happy girl. (Unless those songs are Hysteria and PDA. ><)

Yeah you should write more. ^_^

Well, Guitar Hero world tour? .............4??

I thought there would be the first one coming out and world tour is like rockband with the drums and guitars just different songs and such.

If I'm thinking about the drum version of guitar hero then...I'm actually excited about it. It realyl does look like fun and I can't wait to try it out. I was excited about rockband coming out but then there were so many down falls about it, I didn't bother to pick it up in the stores in the end.

Although I'm alsmost kind of tempted to I heard the only good thing was the bass and that the guitar hero guitars don't work on it (for the wii version at least I heard this about).
Rockbands drum sets I heard aren't that great either but I don't know. I heard that guitar hero is going to be so much better than rock band especially the drum quality ........or something. ^_^

Well, for the Wii, probably.
Harmonix is kind of slow with the whole Wii thing. I don't know about Rock Band 2, though, they could be really stepping it up there.
But as it stands now, GHWT for the Wii has everything on Rock Band for the Wii. Pains me to say it, 'cause I'm partial to Harmonix. They actually care about what they're putting out, while it seems to me like Activision/Neversoft is just trying to one-up and outsell them.
They put out a top-notch sparkly game for the Xbox 360, though! Actually, to be totally honest, Rock Band is the only reason I own an Xbox 360. And it's totally worth it!
Also, with the amount of Downloadable Content they put out, the game can be played indefinitely. Maybe Neversoft will step it up with the DLC for World Tour, but with the 500 songs that will be available for Rock Band by the end of the year, they really can't compete.
Rock Band 1's peripherals did kinda suck, though; here's hoping they've learned their lesson about strumbars.

Really, though, I'm hoping Harmonix will step it up with Rock Band 2 for the Wii. The guitar's won't be cross-compatible between GH and RB, of course, because the GH guitars use the Wiimotes, but the RB ones don't. Same with the drums. But the microphones, as I understand it, will just be USB mics, so they should be compatible with everything including your computer.
But hopefully they'll add all the nifty features like character creation and downloadable content. I won't be buying it, because I've got the 360 and fully working peripherals for it, but I've got a lot of Wii-owning friends that are ticked about not being able to use those features.

I was really disappointed with the RockBand downloadable feature being gone on the wii version. I hear thats one of the fu parts. Plus, with over 500 songs how can you get bored of the game? It's not worth it on the wii but on the other systems I'm sure. Guitar Hero is trying to beat them? Not surprised since they're so simular to be honest. ^_^
I just hope guitar hero does do better than rock band at least for the wii that way I'll get it. Otherwise, I guess I should maybe just stick to rockband?
Hopefully their 2nd one is better for the wii and they add downloadble features. But for now, do you know when that one will come out?

Hey, yesterday we bought guitar hero world tour for PS3 and I love it. It's so much fun. My favorite part is the drums.

Did anyone else buy it yet and if so what did you think of it?

(sorry if this is a repeat thread, I looked around and couldn't see any other GT threads about world tour)

I hope to get it soon...I want it because of the drums. And the music maker
Have you messed about with the music maker at all?
