How do you find your avatar based forums? Like Menewsha and gaiaonline?
Google seems to be hard to find those sites on either that or I don't know what they're really called to type it in the search bar on google.

So how do you find sites like this? Is it through friend referals? Online ads? ect...


I was just thinking about it because I find it hard to find sites like this. I love gaiaonline and sites like Menewsha as well. ^_^ But when looking for them it seems hard to find. Like for example i recently joined Solia Online (is that what its called) but I can't find it on google easily. I heard of it from someone who mentioned it on the menewsha forum. The only easy to find site I remember would have been gaiaonline for some reason. Now it makes sense that its easy to find since its so big and has been around for a while. But how about new avatar sites?

I know for games like MMORPG there are sites that have lists and pics with beta downloads and even popular games. A site dedicated to advertiseing (in a way) those games for players. Is there anything like that for avatar based forums?

Friends lol I found gaia from an old friend back in 04 and was told about this one last year how they found them who knows

Yeah, I think it's pretty much friends. xD I joined Gaia after I found out about it from my sister, joined Roli from an ad they had on Tektek, then I joined Solia from finding out about it from one of my guilds, then I found out about Menewsha from one of the boards there. xD A circle of joinage. xD

I go on a website called pmog.com. It's basically both a game and a way to find interesting websites. There was a mission there that lead you to different avatar-based forums, and that's where I found Menewsha, and Solia, too. I'm different. XD

Oh my gosh! this is exactly how it went for me. It is so precise! I guess alot of us have similar situations like that. I wonder why tektek advertised another avatar site? :shock:

Uhh... a friend referred me to Gaia.
And after that I found Zantarni, which I abruptly ignored, and Mene. =D

And then I found all the other ones. The other avi sites sticky is helpful.

That's so weird they had an AD for another Avatar site on there o.O

I think I just go from site to site..
I heard of Gaia from a friend who played it.
Then I heard of Mene when I was looking for one on Google..

I found another site too, it looked like neopets, and it called itself a avatar-based forum too. ;(

I don't recall exactly how i did it, but i found my first avatar site (gaia) on google. From there, i came here, and since then, i've heard of many others. When looking for them myself, i haven't found google to be very productive either.

I don't remember where I found my First one. Probably from my Friends.

Anyhoo, I found out about Mene from Gaia- Somebody posted a link in the forums. (back when you got gold for inviting friends.) Yup, that's about it.

Luckily by that point I was already sick of Gaia.
