Ok- as a member of safespace and a member of Allies in Action, I need to speak up. This definition is FALSE.
The true definition of bisexuality is someone who is sexually interested in both genders, male and female. There is no 'preference' toward one or the other. If you sleep with both women AND men, you're a bisexual. If you can be in a romantic relationship with a man OR a woman, you're bisexual. Tila Tequila, despite what she says, is NOT a true bisexual. She is an ATTENTION bisexual, or a false bisexual.
Also, having a 'girl crush' or 'man crush' on your same gender doesn't make you bisexual either. It's in the physical act that the definition lies.

I was always one of those people who said that bisexuals were just gays who weren't out of the closet all the way, or straights who were confused.
But then I found out I am bisexual. Naturally these were conflicting beliefs, and so I took a very long time to figure out how I really felt. But the truth is, I am sexually attracted to (attractive) men and women. I am emotionally attracted to men and women.
Technically, I am pansexual, which means that gender plays no role in determining my attraction. For instance-
Normal person: What a hot guy!!
Person 2: That's a girl.
Normal person: Ohh...nevermind
vs.
Me: What a hot guy!
Person 2: That's a girl.
Me: Ohh...what a hot girl!!
Yeah, basically I don't care.
((To clarify, my bisexual friend says that she likes different traits in men and in women, so if she had been in that situation she would have reacted like "normal person," because in her case an attractive guy is not an attractive girl.))

Pansexual also means you'd be with anyone. gblTq.
I consider my self questioning.
I hate the little 12 year olds saying they are bi. If you put a poll on this thread it and it had
Gay
Lesbing
Transgender
Bisexual
Straight
The majority would say bi. Because when someone think "Oh hey that girls is super hawwt!" They think there bi. Wait till your like 27. Then tell me your bi and I will believe you. Before that you are looking for attention. Sorry to be stereotypical and judge mental. But you need to grow up! Have different choices and relationships! You could be bi! I could be wrong! But until you grow up, I don't think you are.
(( Just so ya'll know, I am using 'you' in the general term, not picking on anyone in here))

I think of it this way [ohh analogies!]:
Hetero: I like vanilla ice cream.
Homo: I like lemon ice cream.
Bi: I like vanilla for x reason and lemon for y reason.
Pan: I like ice cream.
Because, true bisexuals like both genders, but they don't like the same traits on both genders, while pansexuals don't care on which gender these traits appear on, did that make sense? ^^'
PS: Heck, 12 years old saying that? They would have to be uber-analitic and knowlegable owo'

.... THE-HELL? C'est like, the biggest concentration of proven stupidity I have heard of until now. Being bi doesn't make you any cooler, smarter, sexier, and if it ever did such, it wouldn't at that age! x_x Heh, here in my school, I only know other bisexual. And period. I'm not even sure if we are bisexuals or pansexuals xD

Prince Edward Island.
And you wouldn't believe it here. It's not really to be "cool" it's for attention. "Oh my gosh, Blogens is going out with a girl! Holy poop... [insert gossip/fights/questions/people that think your so neat for being open about your sexuality/attention/etc]". And all you had to do to get all of that was kiss a girl.

Waiwaiwaiwait... Thothy-- I agree with you-- bisexuals rock the cool. At least so I'd like to think.
But are we cooler than the Pan folk?
This is a pivotal question. I mean, this could shake up the world. Or, you know, at least my high school GSA.
(This is one of the oddest disagreements I've ever stumbled upon, by the way. Mucho of the non-sequitur.)

I am not saying bi>pan, because I don't think most people here truely understand what pansexuals are. Pansexuals are gender blind. They don't care about gender at all. Not just traits about either or. It's I like this person personality and they make me make me happy, they just happen to be a girl/boy/hermaphrodite/transgender/gay/straight/etc. (<-----They don't care about this part at all!)
If you knew the entire jist of what it ment to be pan, I'm sorry I waisted your time. Their was just some people that obviously didn't.
Bi = Likes boys and girls.
Done.
If everyone was Pan the world would be a better place.

I disagree with this. Just because you're pan-sexual doesn't mean you love everyone... You can still be racist... you can still hate people because of their religion or even their hair color. Everyone being pan-sexual wouldn't solve anything. It would just mean that that one special someone (or in some people's cases, multiple someones) can be anyone...

I dunno I still think sexism would exist... homophobia may be gone... but you know those men who love women and still think they're worth nothing...? And I'm sure there are girls who feel the same way... they're all about "girl power" and think boys are stupid...yeah...

Hmm, good point! I never thought of it that way.
But yeah... I just didn't think a lot of people on this thread knew exactly what pansexual was. . . Or I may be wrong... I don't know..

I actually agree with Zuu. If people opened their eyes a little bit more and didn't see certain orientations as shameful, it would certainly be, at least a single step in the right direction.

I'm glad that you all exist, because your argumentation makes a lot more sense than my life philosophy-- which is, in a nutshell, "Why can't we be friends?" (Note: you have to sing that for it to be effective.)
I figure it doesn't matter what your sexuality is, so long as everyone's all cuddly happy about everyone else. Which will never happen, but I'm one of those "Imagine" style flower-children.
Everyone being pansexual wouldn't necessarily solve all of the world's problems at all, although it would make the dating scene one hell of a lot easier.

Isn't that bisexual? If men feel that women are a certain way because they are women, or vice versa, they see gender as a pivotal part of their relationship with other people, and therefore are not pansexual.
Also, a little insulted by the "bi > pan" comments :( Why is it better? I assume it wasn't a joke, and you actually have a reason, since there were obviously pansexual people in the thread so it would be weird to just start insulting them out of nowhere.
