Many many years ago, there was one kingdom. In this kingdom were all kinds of people who could control the elements fire, air, water and earth. The elementalists lived peacefully together for many years. They used their elements together to make the kingdom run efficiently. But as time grew on, many people fought over who should rule the kingdom. Others didn't like the laws created. Many of the people left the kingdom and created single element kingdoms. Soon enough, the old kingdom was left in ruins and all people went to their correct element kingdom. Over time, the kingdoms flourished by themselves and continued to grow.

It didn't take long for the people to start fighting again. This time, it was over territory. The land in which the kingdoms resided simply wasn't big enough for all four. The Fire Kingdom needed the Water Kingdom's lakes and rivers. The Water Kingdom needed more plants from the Earth Kingdom. The Earth Kingdom wanted the mountains that the Air Kingdom resided in and the Air Kingdom wanted to own the desert in which the Fire Kingdom resided. But no kingdom could live without their territory and the other things they needed from the other kingdoms. That's when the war started because neither kingdom wanted to give up what was their's.

The war has gone on for years and recently a small group of elementalists have come together. These elementalists are against the war and want one kingdom once again. Though, these elementalists are quite young and the prideful elders of their own kingdoms will not allow the kingdoms to merge into one. This group now lives and travels together in hopes that the other kingdoms can realize that they can once again live in peace if they swallowed their pride.

The Fire Kingdom is a little more adventurous kingdom. Their army is one of the most strongest because of the kingdom's specialty in fire weapons and steel weapons. They specialize in hand-to-hand combat. Their kingdom is full of "sin", as the other kingdoms would say. Men control the kingdom and do what they please. The kingdom has hardly any laws and is full of crime. Women dancers are praised for their exotic looks and beauty. Alcohol is a favorite and the people in this kingdom feast almost every night. Men are allowed more than one wife and men are forced to fight in the army, not that they have any problems with that. The kingdom is controlled by a group of men who are considered the Kings of the Fire Kingdom. These men are cunning, mischevious, and think with their muscles and not so much their brains.

The Air Kingdom, hidden to the other kingdoms by the clouds, is just as deadly as the Fire Kingdom. The air elementalists may appear to be calm, friendly, and polite, and the air element may appear to be just as weak as a breeze, but those who judge books by their covers are sadly mistaken. Air is not an element to be tampered with. Training to control air is dangerous and many people die in the process. Air elementalists can suck the air right out of another's lungs, produce tornadoes and gusts of wind that can cause a building to fall. Air elementalists take their element very seriously.

Air elementalists have the ability to make themselves fly, but a single mistake will cause them to fall to their deaths, so this technique is rarely used. The kingdom is safe high up in the mountains and can only be reached by the most extreme of climbers or an earth elementalist. The air elementalists use wind contraptions to go below the clouds or to attack another kingdom.

The Air Kingdom has no kings or leaders and is instead ruled by the entire community. Everything is voted upon and education is very important in this kingdom.

The Water Kingdom, located in the center of a very, very large lake. It has a high defense system, since one must go to the kingdom by boat and if the water elementalists see that an intruder is coming, they immediately sink the boat or ship by crashing waves against the lake or having the lake swallow it. The lake is filled with shipwrecks and is basically an underwater graveyard.

The water elementalists are able to hold their breath for a very long time, so a lot of the elementalists like to swim to the kingdom. The only way to get inside, other than a very wet and dangerous climb, is to go beneath the kingdom, where the boats are kept. The kingdom has hundreds of tunnels going throughout the piece of rock and the people there live in window-less homes, except for the royal family who lives in the castle at the very top.

The royal family rules the Water Kingdom and only family can be rulers. The kingdom is very family-orientated and each entire family lives in large homes scattered throughout the kingdom. Art and music is highly encouraged in the Water Kingdom and children do not go to school. Their family members teach them right and wrong and teach them how to create art.

The Earth Kingdom is high up in the trees of the forest. This kingdom has a group of elders that rules the forests and they are the ones that live in the castle. The others live in the treetops in tree houses of sorts. The houses are all connected by rope bridges so travel up so high is easy. Even though the earth elementalists live in the trees, they spend a lot of their time on the ground. Physical abilities are very important to the earth elementalists and they often hold Olympic-type races and contests to prove who is the strongest.

In the Earth Kingdom, women are just as strong as males. There is no discrimination, unlike the Fire Kingdom, and there is an even amount of female and male elders. The earth elementalists are also brilliant at both long-range and hand-to-hand combat. They don't have steel weapons like the Fire Kingdom, but wield hand-made bows and arrows instead.

¤ - Follow the regular Menewsha rules. I know they're dumb rules, but they have to be followed.
¤ - Please respect me, my rules and the other role-players.
¤ - This is a long-term role-play. That means that you must post every other day. I understand when fantastic events happen where you aren't logged on for a couple days, so I'll understand that if you're willing to hop back in and keep on posting regularly.
¤ - This is a LITERATE role-play. That means that you will use correct grammar [yes my friends, it's spelt grammar, not grammer], correct punctuation, spelling or at least do your best. There is a lovely spell check option that you can download, or you can check your posts in Microsoft Word. I honestly hate it when people are posting terribly where I cannot even understand what they are saying. So, you will talk in third person. You will not use asterisks [ * those guys].
¤ - You have to at least post a paragraph and I'll let you decide how much a paragraph is. You can also write as much as you'd like. So if you're at an Advanced Literate level, then go ahead and post your many paragraphs of plenty, just don't be upset when people who are at a lower level than you will post much less. Work with what you've got.
¤ - Don't do the regular boring and dull font for your posts. At least change the size or the font or the color or bold it or something.
¤ - I would like you all to private message me your profiles. If you post them, your post will be deleted and you won't be able to join again. So I expect all of you to read all of the rules, because they're very important and I'm not afraid to kick people out of the RP. I do it quite often, actually. So, follow the rules. Have private message titled 'Where are the dragons?'
¤ - And no, there aren't dragons, sadly. Just elementalists. And you're only allowed one element.
¤ - I'm going to stop people from joining the role-play if we get too many guys or too many girls. I like to have the gender numbers a little on the equal side, so if too many girls join, I'll only allow guys to join until they're even and then allow whoever to join again.
¤ - Make your character's profile fun and interesting to read. So, don't make your character's biography and personality boring. Maybe keep in mind that if your character is interesting, then the role-play will be interesting.
¤ - KEEP IN CHARACTER, DUDE! If your posts about your character are different than how your character actually is in your profile, I'll PM you straight away and tell you to act like your character. If you're supposed to be cruel, don't help out strangers. If you're supposed to be shy, don't talk to strangers. You know?
¤ - No killing another's character without permission. Though there should be killing, it only makes the role-play interesting. If your character dies, then you are definitely allowed to make another character! And it's fun to kill of your characters and then make a new one with a totally different personality. Variety is good. C:

All of you can easily see, or get an idea, of where each kingdom is located. North is the mountains of the Air Kingdom. West is the desert sands of the Fire Kingdom. East is the forests of the Earth Kingdom. In the center is the lake of the Water Kingdom. The unmarked territory is No Man's Land and is basically a huge grassland.

It had not been easy to steal one of the boats, pass the guards, and leave without anyone noticing. She had always wondered why Japhet had shared so much about his job with her but now it was beginning to make sense. She had always assumed he just really loved being a guard. Perhaps he somehow knew he wouldn't live through this war and all along had been preparing her. She considered herself blessed that Japhet would see her as a worthy candidate for fulfilling his dreams.

She was far from the caves she grew up in. She looked up and smiled at the dazzling night sky. The stars were even more beautiful when they were perfectly reflected in the lake. It made her feel like she was floating in an endless sea of stars. She wished she could water dance right now but she didn't want to take any chances. Instead she looked at the stars and made sure she was heading in the correct direction. Japhet had once told her of a secret cove that would be safe to land in. With any luck she would be there some time in the early morning.

Alana was practising her archery in the field behind her house. She pulled out an arrow and blinked causing fire to alight on the tip and then shot at the target. She landed a bullsye as usual.You never knew when you would need flaming arrows available to shoot at random people. She shot again hitting the bullsye.

She looked over at her best friend Ryan and grinned at his dificulty. He was not the best marksman. She thought it funny the way he tried to be as good as she was. THey had been raised together and spent most of there time together. She was always teasing him playfully. Lately he had been acting rather uncomfortable around her and she still couldnt figure out why.

She couldn't sleep. She could never sleep. She tossed and turned, but couldn't get comfortable. The loud snoring coming from the man laying next to her didn't help either. She sat up in bed, causing the strap of her nightgown to fall down her shoulder. Her short black hair was a tangled mess and stood up in places it shouldn't. Smokey pools of gray stared at the man next to her. He was a thin man with red hair and a goatee. He was great at love-making, but chatted too much. She wasn't planning on waking up next to him. Or ever seeing him again. He was from the fire kingdom and helped her smuggle out a few crates of bottles of liquor. She let him spend the night in return for his help.

Slowly, she pulled the covers off of her legs and slipped out of the bed. The stone floor was cold against her feet and she quickly walked over to her wardrobe and pulled out an outfit. Her home was basically one rectangular room, big enough for space for a couple chairs and pillows to sit upon, a rug she got from the Fire Kingdom and for a brick oven that both heated her home and cooked her food and also room for her bed and tables and knick-knacks she kept. There was also bathroom with a wooden tub, but she preferred to bathe outside like many other people in the Air Kingdom. There were waterfalls over the mountains and many made small pools perfect to bathe in, even though they were absolutely freezing.

The raven haired young woman put on tighter black leather skin pants with black leather skin boots and a black leather skin jacket with a white corset-like shirt underneath. She felt like just a tinge of her needed to be lady-like, so she usually wore a corset. Ginevra loved her black leather skin, though. Leather just smelt good to her and there were many leather fabrics hanging around her home. She grabbed a long black robe and didn't look back at the man sleeping in her bed.

Without much thought, Ginevra left her house, with the sleeping fire elementalist inside. He would have a fun time trying to get out of the kingdom tomorrow, and also trying to get past the guards. Shutting the door softly behind her before she climbed down a long flight of stone stairs until she reached a large balcony-platform area where many house staircases met and then another staircase went onto a larger platform where stores and such were. The Air Kingdom had many levels. It was dark out, and she liked to wear black to blend in. She tied the robe around her neck and put the hood up, drowning herself in darkness.

"Checkmate" Jeremiah grinned at the young fire elementalist he has just defeated for the umpteenth time. "Best 14 out of 27?"

The other simply shook her head and smiled. "I've had quite enough, thanks." She got up to leave, then turned back to him. "I'm definitely glad you're on our side."

Jeremiah simply grinned. Today was going to be a good day, he could feel it. Today was a day for victories, both great and small.

The last few days had been nerve racking but she had gotten away with out being detected. Now that the sun had come out she could see land. If Japhet's directions and her navigation had been correct she should be in the southern part of No Man's Land between the Fire and the Earth Kingdoms. She would have to be extra careful now and make sure not to use her any sort of water power.

Once she landed she hide the boat but left a natural marker in case she would ever need to come back. Also she disrobed and ,wrapping her garments in a water tight skin, left them hidden with the boat. Her normal wear would be a sure sign of the Water Kingdom and she had no desire to be found out and killed. She opened her pack and donned the more natural robes which held no distinction of any kingdom.

Even after coming this far she was a bit unsure as what to do next. She gave it some consideration and decided to explore a bit and then make a camp, granting no one was near by. She took off in no real direction but made sure to mark in the sky where she was going so she wouldn't get too lost.

Alana looked over at Ryan and grinned. He was bent over picking up somthing from the ground. She made a fireball and tossed it at him. He ran around in circles for a while yelling "MY BUTTS ON FIRE HELPE ME" Alana laughed so hard. She always did love playing pranks on him. He finally doused the fire and tackled her to the ground as revenge.

"You think your just so funny dont you?" He said pinning her to the ground. Her white hair flayed out around her head in teh grass.

"Im hilarious dont you know." She kicked him between his legs and he fell to the ground groaning. "Now ive gotta hurry and go. Im sneaking into the earth kingdom today."

"Alana you know your supposed to just stay here. Your parents are going to kill you if they find out." He said getting up and gathering together the equipment.

"They wont if you wont blab." She took off running straightening her cloak around her. She crawled through a whole she dug in the main wall and took off running. She saw the earth kingdom gate up ahead. She pulled her hood up around her face hiding everything but her mouth. She walked through the main entrance holding on to a cart to make it seem like she was with them. She pushed back her hood and looked around. This place was great. It was huge and busy.

Galfon awakens as the sun arises, these past few weeks have been difficult not to say the least. He was a true born nomad, a man of the land. He lived off the land as easily as he made it seem. It was all natural for him, the random spot that he found to sleep on that night had been softer than usually which made the sleeping much easier than the nights before. There was a small fog that covered the ground as he got up and stretched a little. This awkward feeling that he was being watched made him very paranoid.

These people that he knew as his fellow villagers that all had abandoned him became his fellow enemies, they were always starting something. Fighting was not what he wanted to do, he just wanted to be left alone. He felt that all the other villagers and even villages wanted to do was fight. He had learned to defend himself in his school, but after that occurrence with the kid that started picking on him until he could not take it anymore, but thats for another story for another day. Wondering around endlessly until the night comes again trying to stay away from all people.

The cloaked figure quickly walked across the stone platforms that were build into the mountain of the Air Kingdom. The black cloak fluttered silently behind the figure, dragging slightly on the ground for the person was a little on the short side. She quickly stepped onto the ledge of one of the platforms and without pausing dove head-first off of the ledge. The fall was hundreds of feet until the ground.

Ginevra's arms were outspread, enjoying the fall and the adrenaline rush. Her hood had been blown off of her head and her black hair was pushed back from the rushing wind. She began to do turns and flips in the air. Ginevra was very flexible and wearing tight clothing, besides her cloak, allowed her to maneuver through the air with ease. Stopping, was completely different.

Steadying herself so that her feet were facing the ground, she spread out her arms and from her hands came an opposing wind to the rushing one. Ginevra made the wind from her hands push hard against the rushing wind. It was hard and her arms required much strength to keep them outspread. Before she hit the ground, she began to slow down, but she didn't make her wind strong enough.

Ginevra hit the ground a little harder than she had planned. Her ankles buckled beneath her and she fell to the ground with a small scream. It didn't hurt, it was just unexpected, but as soon as she sat up, her ankles began to throb. She had had sprained ankles before, and from what she could tell, they weren't sprained, just... in pain. She remained sitting and took off her boots and began to slowly stretch her ankles.

She made the boat landing the central point and walked about two marks out staying along the coast line. From there she walked in a semi-circle around the central point exploring the area. Once the outer semi-circle was done she wove her path back and forth slowly making her way back to the boat landing.

Mena was a little pleased knowing that no one was close by. She had even found a place that would work as a decent camp for how ever long she needed to stay in this area. Though there wasn't much cover in any direction close by, there was enough for one small woman. The camp site was even close to a decent sized river. She had been lucky to find such a spot. Double checking to make sure the boat was well hidden she then decided all was in order for her to go to the area she had picked out for her camp.

She was happy with how well her navigation skills were holding up. She had been able to find the site again with little trouble. She put her things down and pulled out some dried fish from her pack. She was grateful it was some of the more tasty smoked fish rather than some of the other dried goods she had eaten before.

She leaned back and enjoyed the beauty of this place. Though there was not a huge variety of plant life it was still a joy to see what there was. Tiny flowers and all sorts of little bugs. She was glad she had listened to her brother. There was just too much in the world to see for her not to take this risk. How much had people in all the kingdoms missed out on because of this stubborn war?

She wandered around with her head upward. It was wonderful. She thought it was beuitiful. She was a fire elementalist and hated it. She loved nature and wished to be intuned to earth. That was her goal. Her goal was to become a nature person. FIre was a destroyer not a creater. She would rather that than anything in the world.

As she walked down the streets she noticed many people hard at work. She kept her hood up so that they would not know who she was. She asked a passerby the way to the tavern and they pointed it out. She walked inside and ordered a drink.

As Galfon decides to continue walking around the secluded area that there are barly any people on he decides to go back to his sleeping quarters. As he gets there he notices a girl in a black cloak jumping from the cliff aroud the area that he generally sleeps. Suprised he goes to where he saw the girl jump from and watches her, her hair flowing in the wind, the freedom that comes from the air in your face and every other crevice in your body. "Those were the days."

Galfon being the man that he is, always with a wall up never putting it down, so tense that hes never has any fun because of the fighting from every one that he ever sees. He decides that he does not mind anyone jumping as long as they dont bug him. He lays on the area that was soft last night or that he thought was the soft spot. But the spot was very dry and uncomfortable like usuall. He procceds to try and sleep the sun setting at the time it was what he used to think as beautiful.

He falls asleep and begins to dream...

"You freak, why do you even show up? You know everything there going to teach you so leave." The young nameless boy says. "No, i stay becuase I want to and i must learn more." says Galfon. The dream continues on this way for quite somtime and what seems to just straight jump to the ending scence. " Galfon quit, stop doing that, you know those moves are forbidden where did you learn them!?!" Said a concenred teacher. "Owwwww, STOP I DIDNT MEAN IT PLEASE" said the nameless boy that had been making fun and picking on Galfon for the time that had past. "........." Galfon said nothing as he grunts using what are moves that only a few people have ever seen. The dream ends at that. Galfon wakes, covered in sweat from what seemed to be a voice that was near him.

It was crowded around the Pit, as it was called. The Earth Kingdom's very own fighting center. It was time for the annual Autumn Festival contests. This was exactly what Audrey was looking forward to. For once she wanted to be picked to fight. Fighting would mean that she would have enough money to finally leave the Earth Kingdom.

Once the lottery winners were picked to be the fighters in today's fight, she was happy. It was her against one of the best hand-to-hand fighters, Jarrod. She approached him and they shook hands in the traditional Earth Kingdom way. She leaned towards him and whispered, "I'll let you win easily for the usual price and five flasks of apple wine." This wasn't the first time that they had fought and each time he had paid her for his win. He remembered the first time when he refused and almost lost to her. "A'ite," he said, grinning. He got more points for how easily he won the fight; and during the festival, the more points you got, the better.

Audrey was cut and bruised after the fight, but it was worth it. She had prepared the right herbs and medicines that she needed to feel better the night before and was soon ready to leave. She had an extremely large bag packed with everything that she might need, as well as some stuff that she knew she could sell or barter away. She set her small trap to the one and only in the Earth Kingdom that she cared about her garden and made her way towards the gates of the kingdom. Running across the treetops she approached the gate. She jumped down from the trees with a dancer's grace. As one of the guards tried to stop her, shouts rose from the distance, "What the..." he said.

"You might want to check that out, after all this is a forest," she said as they ran back towards the city. Her final 'gift' to the Kingdom was to burn her garden. After all it held some of the rarest plants and herbs in it. She knew that she had the best garden in the kingdom. Smiling and unopposed, she left the kingdom that had mistreated her for her whole life and now she was finally free of it.

Mena had slept well and no one had come during the night that she could tell. She stretched and gave a yawn enjoying the feeling of waking up outside. She got her bedroll backed up and did her best to hid all evidence of her campsite. She had considered to stay here a few days but before she fell asleep she figured it would be best to get on with her travels. She fastened her pack snuggly to her back and found a decent walking stick which could double as a staff if necessary. She was not sure how long it would take to get out of no man's land but she should stay alert. She wasn't to close to the Fire and Earth Kingdoms but Mena wanted to take extra precautions not to get found out.
