I'm going to make believe that you mean Electronic music in general. Because there is no description of favorites up there, and techno's already a broad enough term. No offense to the OP, but that's normally what people mean when it's brought up in a normal convo.
Electronic music's been around for a loooong time (although still relatively new in terms of main genres) and it's a general term, although constantly changing in some way over time more than other genres. However along with most things that have been around for a looooog time stuff degrades in the public eye, and of course ends up spawning people who think Deadmau5, Pendulum, and Daft Punk are the only purely Electronic things out there. Far from it.
I'm normally a person for Old-School Hardcore, Chiptune, Drum N' Bass (and no, not Pendulum. They're hardly DnB anymore), and French House when in the electronic mood. However my favorite items are still from Lapfox Trax (which is mostly not any of the aforementioned items), which is basically a name that Renard uses to say all his collective work.
