Wow. Lots of angst. o.0 Anyways, I think it's best to give constructive criticism if any, no matter how late you are to state it. I myself have likes and dislikes to the past layout and the new one. For example, I dislike only being able to see the most recent announcement on the front page, whereas on the last layout we were able to see the [about] five newest ones. I know while I was away for the weekend, I was searching all over the announcement forum to find out what I'd missed and it doesn't help when people are posting in older announcement threads. I also dislike that my gaiabar won't automatically format my posts anymore, but that's not a problem, just something I have to get used to clicking on now manually. I really like the overall flow of the new layout though, I must say, but I'm not thrilled about the banner. And as hawt as the front page graphic is, I'd rather not have to scroll all the way down to see the announcements. Maybe if the front page had the graphic as a background image, then you could scoot the other things up more. The new games are pretty addicting though, even though they're not exactly original, I'm glad that there isn't [at least yet] a cap on them and it gives us more to do in a day online than just posting or waiting for someone else to post. I'm THRILLED that we got an inventory arranger, and [excuse my language, but] it kicks ass! I really also like the cart option in shops as it helps when purchasing multiple things from many shops. I'd really love to see the items arranged better though as I had to go digging sometimes through six pages to find an item. Who can really complain with the new space in mailboxes too! I know I receive lots of mail for my thread and it's nice to have more room for storing some of the important messages I need to keep. However, it'd also be nice to have a safebox where I can somewhat arrange my messages. I'm really starting to get the feel of the new layout and I must say I'm excited about it and loving it. I've seen renewed interest for other members, as well as myself, and I hope that an event in the next month may be able to push forward a continued stability in site activity. |
Yep - it was confirmed there will be an event in May. :) (This was slated long before the software switch, though.)

It worked for me, anyway... Let us know if you have a problem? The store arrangement is probably something that will be fixed soon... I know Ken tried to display items by price, but it didn't work the way he thought it would. |
Ah. Thanks CK love. ^^; Donna's slow. xD I was just wondering how to move the messages too, but I guess you just have to click "move to folder" and go. I'd thought it was a "move to folder" and drag down to the folder you wish to move it to, similar to my email. Personally, I like the new layout. The old one was just so...White, and bland. Whilst I liked the old one at the time, I realize that this one's a lot more detailed, and 'fresh'. I don't think it looks much like gaia, either. Gaia came to mind at first, but I don't think that anymore.
And I would've liked to beta test the new layout (Well, not on this account. I mean my main XD ): *sniff* How many got to beta? |
Yes, if there is ever another beta I would love to test it out! Woot woot!

There were 36 beta testers altogether, though at least half of that number did little or nothing.

You're missing the point entirely.
The point is that you had more than ample opportunity to express any displeasure with the new design before it went live, but you chose instead to be nothing but doom and gloom and a general downer after the fact. |

Well-- you'd be surprised. I know that we would of at least discussed it among everyone in beta and, if anyone else had the same feelings or suggestions, who knows what would of happened.
Its pretty irrelevant now, though-- we can only speculate on what would of happened. The software switch/layout change is done and over with (for now). Whoo~! To the future! :cool: |

When I first made my account, it was just before the change, I believe. All I know was that I was having a ton of trouble and so I just logged out and didn't really bother with the site. I almost abandoned my account, then some people on Kinsaki were praising the new layout so I came back.
Suddenly everything was really easy and I liked it. It was easy to navigate and it was fun, so I decided to give the place a shot and started posting. You were given a chance to beta test and talk about things you didn't like and you didn't? Then you really shouldn't complain. You had a chance to influence the site and passed it up. While I think the new layout is extremely different to the old one I think the site has improved a lot !! and I like it , it is modern appealing, professional hehhe I dont see why some people dont like it but well some people is just hard to adapt to changes I think.
Anyways I say enjoy it and sad you didnt speak while you had the chance ... |
Mostly, I see it as an approvement, however, it is rather slow.
And I miss seeing my whole avatar at the tope of the screen. But, other than that, I adore it. |
Someone here who was a beta tester is complaining now after the launch that they didn't like it ... I think thats bad ... beta testers had a chance to voice their opinions before it was released to the public ... I would have gave feedback on what was wrong or what I didn't like ... Isn't that was a beta tester is for? To give feedback on something before its officially released?
I personally like the layout, it's simple and easy to navigate ... however there are things that are not working for me ... for example .. the invatory arranger .. I tried it and when I tried to put my items in created drawers it would not add them and in the end I ended up deleting the drawers I made ... I also noticed that randomally when I am playing games and it submits a score (mostly on the helicopter game) it says I am not authorized to see the page but yet I still get the gold for the game ... I don't think that is supposed to happen because sometimes it will actually go to the high score page, but other times it doesn't (theres where I get that I am unauthorized).... |
i love the new layout.its inviting to me.
its the simple fact that i can distinguish posts from one another and threads as well. its all around much easier to navigate and i like that. before i hardly ever came here becuase i couldnt stand the way it was set up. so to me this is a drastic GOOD change that i like. |
a_shy_girl: When you tried to arrange your inventory and add things to your drawers, did you drag and drop once the drawer highlighted green? The item won't go into the drawer until the one you want turns green. Otherwise, it'll just go back to your main inventory... Just click the item, drag it over the top of the drawer you want until the drawer turns green and unclick. :)

As a new user I must say that this layout is very inviting to the outside, and I think thats what you guys are going for.

My suggestion is to give users the option to use either layout. There are sites that do that. o-o;
