This goes for every site, every time the design updates someone have to talk about how bad it is. Please just get used to it, it goes for all site members really.

I wasn't on during the beta testing. Whenever I tried to get on the site wouldn't come up. There have been a few things fixed that needed fixing, but there were also a lot of unnecessary changes. Mascot isn't the only one who's unsatisfied with the changes here. I know there's no way you're going to change it back, and I'm not asking you to, but there is something that I've been noticing around here that really bothers me, and that the attitude of the admins. While there are some who are gentler with the way they explain things, I more often see an admin snapping at someone for being stupid and not knowing as much as everybody else does than explaining it in an understanding manner. It really annoys me because I have had times when I didn’t understand something, and I was afraid to ask because it seemed like something I ought to know already, and people tend to be really rude on the internet when someone doesn’t know the basics. |
I understand that sometimes the higher-ups can be a little abrasive, but I can also see it from their point of view. They field probably hundreds of questions per day from people asking about things readily available and easily viewable through the rules and FAQs that are set out specifically for that purpose. While I'm certain that sometimes people are simply clueless, the vast majority of the time they're simply too lazy to look for something that is directly in front of them, and one can understand how it would grate on the nerves after a year or so of constant examples of that behavior. It's enough to make one wonder why they took the time to write out the carefully prepared guides and FAQs, y'know?

XD I would really hate to be in that position. >.>; I've sometimes thought I was looking my hardest to find smthing, then ask, ad find out it was right under my nose the whole time. And then I feel really rude, because I've caused someone a lot of trouble just to tell me how stupid I am. Only whenever that happened, the people were always very nice about it. I guess I've just gotten used to going to fourms run by angels instead of humans.... lol |
I spent about a year away from Mene... and when I came back I was THRILLED with the new look. It is leaps and bounds better then the original.

I have to admit, I kinda prefered the old one aswell.
It's pretty hard to get used to, I just got back on again yesterday and I was shocked at all the changes. But, changes are usually good, so... it's probably for the better? =] |
Well, there are a lot of really nice things, like the Quick Reply/Edit, and the profile, easier links, and so on, but I can't find how to make a search anymore! |
There's a search field at the top of every forum, and a "search this thread" dropdown menu at the top of every thread.

I think some of you that think the new layout shouldn't be here are being a little selfish. For one, having been around the older layout for a while, was still able to adjust and love the new one after so long on the onld one, along with countless others. Let's face it, the old menewsha was getting to small too hold all of it's members. Menewsha is one of the most popular avatar sites out there, it'd be like trying to hold the millions of gaians on the VERY small Go-Gaia. It's not gong to happen
The whole point of the new layout was to get new ideas, to make change, and to structure future popularity. Whenever there is something in life there will always be change, without it, we spiral downwards in an old chain of repetition. We asked for change, the staff worked endless hours, Ken almost lost his mind staying up for so long and now some don't even have the decency to say thanks, right of the start they say "Nope not working for me, I'm leaving" That's rather rude isn't it? I'm not singling out anyone but I've noticed some 'negative' attitudes, even if you don't really like the change you could still be respectful to the staff for all their hard work. =D |
It just takes a little getting used to. It was interesting to learn the new things that menewsha had to offer and I can say that I definitely like the new mene. There has been tons improvement.

It's like on Gaia, everyone complains at first. And after a couple of months no one complains at all.

you can make the people happy some of the times the rest of the times they will be unhappy every game needs a new feel after awile
to make it look beter have more room work smother other wise it will end up crashing because too much people in the server because it wasnt updated and revamped i am newbie i like it as is the only web game i can well play the games as much as i want and not have to do it once a day(i hate doing that) and helps the money run around easyer at lest for me servers need to have new software when there is better out there they will allways be bugs in it untill they fix it up no one is perfect nothing is perfect im happy with it is now need work need to add more and well they are working on it because there not done just be happy they didnt just close the site off wich they could if they wanted to or abandon it wich they could of done that too if they wanted too just be happy its still here and hey with new stuff aside it couldnt it be worse |

Maybe, don't be counting on that though..there's no absolute guarantee that any of the old games will come back.
We'd rather bring in new ones than have to remake the poorly coded and easily exploited ones that we already had. |

It's up in the air though, deciding what to do with the old games is pretty far down the list right now I'd imagine. Kenny's working on other stuff at the moment. |
