An Avatar Contest

Welcome to the official avatar contest of Easter 2009! I will be hosting and judging this year, and I'm looking forward to seeing your lovely outfits! I'll be judging based on creativity, fashion sense and adherence to the themes.

There will be two categories this time around (though you never know when I might throw in extra categories!): Generic Easter/Springtime avatars and Your Sunday Best! avatars. See the following posts for more information on each category.

Hey guys! I'm Sizzla, and most of you have probably seen me around the forums at some point or another. I've hosted a few of the avatar contests during our events now, and it seems that this time I'm at it again. I'm looking forward to seeing a bunch of festive, Springy avatars this time around! :D

Helpful hints from Sizzla:
Please know that the categories are open for interpretation. When it comes to judging, I usually pick those that I think fit best with the category and which are also nicely put together. :) It's hard to give more hints than that, but I'd say that typical springtime colors are either pastels, or bright colors, but not terribly saturated. For example, royal blue and red are far too saturated to be springy colors in my opinion. But a lighter shade of red (or blue) -- pink or salmon perhaps (light blue) -- can be quite springy. :yes:

Rules
Read the rules and follow 'em. That's all I ask! XD Make sure you read them all too, because there may be something in the rules that's necessary for your entry... ;)

First and foremost, make sure you follow the Site Rules.
Be respectful! Constructive criticism is fine, but please don't be rude to other entrants.
You can only enter once in each of the categories, and you may not enter on a mule account. If you do try to enter on a mule, I'll know, so just don't bother. XD
Please be sure to use the entry form when you post your entry. Failure to post the form will result in your avatar not being entered into the contest.
You may use your own inventory and the Menewsha Avatar Creator to make your outfits.
Please be sure to save your entry to an outside image host like Photobucket or imageshack. What I see is what I'll judge, so be sure that the avatar you enter is saved and won't change.
If you want to change your entry, you may edit your submission up until it is posted on the front page. Once it is posted on the front page, you'll have to PM Sizzla if you want to change anything.
Entries must be submitted by April 18 at noon CST. Winners will be announced in the Community Discussion forum shortly after the event ends.

Prizes
I'll choose first, second and third place winners in each of the categories. Other prizes might be added as the event goes on, depending on the amount of entries I get.

Prizes are as follows:
First place: An Easter '07 set (bunny hairpin, white bunny plushie, chicky on my head, pierced bunny headband)
Second place: An Easter '08 set (Barba the Lamb, Plucky the Ducky)
Third place: Wood Sprite CI and 1,000g

I would love to enter, but I'm afraid that I can't take a snapshot of my outfit and upload it. Every time I've tried, it never worked.

@Elmira: There are actually two categories: Sunday Best and Generic Springtime/Easter. :D

@GrannyJ: Here's what you do to save your avatar for the contest. Right click on your avatar's picture and select "Save Image As" or something like that. Then, save it to your desktop with a name that you can remember.

Then go here: www.tinypic.com. And Click the "Browse" button next to the box that says "File:".
When you click "Browse," a window will open up where you can choose the file you want to upload. Select the image of your avatar from your desktop. Then click "Upload Now." Once you're done, it'll give you a bunch of links to your image. All you need to do is select the "IMG Code for Forums and Message Boards" link and copy and paste it into the entry form. :)

Thanks - hands are full at home and I forgot to put my glasses on - I'll come up with something!

@Windy: You can enter both categories. :) And your outfit now is kind of on the fence. I'm going to say it's more summery than springy... If you think it fits, you can enter it, but just know that I think it's more summery than springy. XP

Is that the same way I'd put a picture into my signature? I'd like to put a little picture of my new grandson there sometime.

Edit: I should ask....should my outfit have been in the Spring category? I wasn't sure.
