A Fashionably Frosty Avatar Contest

Welcome to the official avatar contest of the 2008 Festival of Winter Nights! Eroy and I will be hosting and judging this year, and we're looking forward to seeing your creative and festive outfits! We'll be judging based on creativity, fashion sense and adherence to the themes.

There will be three categories: Generic Holiday avatars, Winter Nights avatars and Team Colors avatars. See the following posts for more information on each category.

Hey guys! I'm Sizzla, and most of you have probably seen me around the forums at some point or another. I like hanging out all over the site really, but I'm especially fond of Avatar Chat, so I thought this event I'd take on the avatar contest thread. :D I'm really excited to see all the wonderful outfits you come up with, and I know a lot of you have excellent fashion sense, so impress me!

Rules
Read the rules and follow 'em. That's all we ask! XD Make sure you read them all too, because there may be something in the rules that's necessary for your entry... ;)

• First and foremost, make sure you follow the Site Rules.
• Be respectful! Constructive criticism is fine, but please don't be rude to other entrants.
  
• You can only enter once in each of the categories, and you may not enter on a mule account. If you do try to enter on a mule, we'll know, so just don't bother. XD
  
• Please be sure to use the entry form when you post your entry. Failure to post the form will result in your avatar not being entered into the contest.
• You may use your own inventory and the Menewsha Avatar Creator to make your outfits.
• Please be sure to save your entry to an outside image host like Photobucket or imageshack. What we see is what we'll judge, so be sure that the avatar you enter is saved and won't change.
• Entries must be submitted by midnight on January 2, 2009. Winners will be announced in the Community Discussion forum shortly after the event ends.

Prizes
We'll choose first, second and third place winners in each of the three categories.

Prizes are as follows:
First Place: 2,000g
Second Place: 1,000g
Third Place: 500g

Generic 'Holiday' Avatar Contest
You'll enter your avatar in this category if it has a generic holiday theme -- red/green, blue/white/gold, etc. avatars will go here. From Christmas to Hanukkah to Kwanzaa -- all celebrated holidays are welcome here. :D

Winter Nights Avatar Contest
This category is for avatars that have colors resembling a cold winter night. Avatars in this category can be dark and starry, or have the colors of the aurora borealis.

Team Colors Avatar Contest
This category is for avatars that represent their teams using the team's color. The avatars entered in this category should have the majority of their avatar dressed in their team color, but they may also add neutral accents of black, white, silver or gold.

And you guys were mean making us wait for that damn cat so long xD

Not mean! The problem with the Heaven Kitty was it was tool shaded. It had too many colors to be used on the old system. It wasn't until a few weeks ago that Insomniac updated our avatar image system so we could use items with more colors. :)

So we actually put it out as soon as we had an excuse to. ;3
