And they were delicious. I had a dessert crepe with strawberries, bananas, hot fudge, whipped cream, and vanilla ice cream in it. Oh... my... god...
It was AMAZING.
Have you ever had crepes?
What are you favorite kind of crepes?
Do you even know what crepes are?
(( Yes, I know I'm spoon feeding, sorry.)

I have never had a crepe before in my life.
It sounds sickeningly sweet though.

I would kill for a well made series of blueberry crepes right now.
Well, maybe not kill, but definitely severely wound. =3 Om nom nom.
All I get, however, are toaster strudels. Stupid college student budget. T_T

Share?? D:
I havent had propper crepes in AGES. But my mom does very good (and similar) ones :P She's mastered it to my liking.
Had some last week.
My favourite are coated in "nuttella" with a mountain of squirty cream on the top.
and if i feel greedy, chocolate / toffee sauce over that.
Crepes are "really thin french pancakes" as i call them.
Thanks, oxy. you made me hungry :P

I love crepes! Savory crepes are my favorite though, I think it brings out the best in them ... When I was a little kid and we'd go to the Magic Pan, my mom would always make me order apple crepes (god she had the worst ideas about what food I wanted, but it shows you how young I was at the time) but I was able to take some of her chicken or ham crepes. I still would love to have had the Coquilles St. Jacques there when it was big, but alas. They've revived the name recently but under the Lettuce Entertain You brand, so I don't even want to go. Not the same food. ; ; I probably will go though, just to see it.
Here is, though, the Magic Pan ham crepes recipe! I am so excited thinking of them, though I don't even have a crepes pan I used to use a non stick frying pan of about the right size, but don't have that either at present. D=
Quote:
Magic Pan Ham Crepes
(Ham Crepes - Use basic crepe recipe)
Filling - Make a white sauce of 4T butter - 4T flour - and 2C milk
To it add grated honey ham and approx 2C Jarlsburg swiss cheese
to make a thick filling where cheese is just melted and entire
mixture is cooled somewhat. Do not overheat.
Fill crepes with filling and place crepes in a baking pan. Top with a little
parmesan cheese if desired and bake in oven at 350 for 15 min or until edges
of crepes are browned and filling is bubbly. Top with mustard sauce and devour.
Mustard Sauce - Mostly Mayonnaise with a little yellow mustard and about as
much sugar. That is exactly what the waiter told us when
we asked him. It is delicious
Note - Always use a honey ham or they will be salty
When I say grated ham - you can use a food processor. It should be ground very fine.

Mmmmmm Crepes so tasty. I had some at Disney (Epcot), but it was from one of those food stand things. I bet real french crepes are even tastier.

Lol, crepes xD Trust the French to try and make something as simple as a pancake overly fancy. xD As I'm British, what people from the US call crepes are just pancakes to us, we don't make them thick like you guys do.
I like them really traditional with just sugar and lemon juice  Though I've been down the banana/Nutella route too. I also made some for my breakfast one Sunday with mango, Greek yoghurt and honey, those were good :)
Savoury ones are good too, stuffed with meat/veggies, topped with cheese and put under the grill til they bubble...

Silly jellycakes. We call pancakes "pancakes" as well. Crepes are extra thin goodness. ;D
There's a crepe shop not too far from where I live and their wares are muy tasty. ... But expensive. D:

Haha! They are SOOO hard to make. Cause they are so thin it's hard to cook 'em without breaking them, and it's hard to get them to taste right.
