I worked at a Girl Scouts camp and we were on a lake. Once I got used to sleeping out in a platform tent, inside a bug net on a rickety cot, I slept better than I'd ever had.

what is creepy to me, if I think about it too much, is all the things that could happen while in the middle of the woods while I'm asleep ... all the critters or human predators could be out there ... but then, that is little different than at home or in the city, except at home you have a solid house to try and keep you safe but when camping all you have is this thin little tent that bairly keeps you dry from the morning dew most days ...

but the crackle of the fire and all the stars at night and the air and the in general lack of people and the clean air and the wind in the trees ... wonderful.
