The story takes place in the years of 1700's no cars or electronics. all oldfation. dirt roads and log homes. many open filds and forestes. there are many onknown towns. the main town is called Mid Port which is in the center of the wolrds map. To the west is unknown teritory, to the east the elfin tribs, to the west are the rock mountans, and to the south is the country, the only different between this world and our own is that there are mysical creachers among the people. In the south a a girl and her close companions travel this world insearch for the changling who knows their forgotten past. from the forests to the fields to the caves and towns, the group won't stop untill they now what happened that cold winter mornig.....

January 5th. the wind blows as Rin Cho and her bestfriend Matsuo Shigehito stay up in their old tree house. The walls are covered in drawlings of the country children dancing. all the pictures are old and colorfull. In some of the pictures theres one child that stands out, having its skin the shad of green grass and long flowing hair. the tree house is filled with old toys and candles. there are 6 chairs on for each of the old friends, only two are filled. the sun sets in the north while Rin Cho and Matsuo Shigehito talk about their past. its quiet out side the drap on the door....

Matsuo sits slupped in the chair head leaning back and eyes closed. He feels the breeze from the cool January air as he talks to Rin. "I don't understand why I can't remember who some of these people are." he says letting out a long sigh and raises his head. Matsuo rubs the back of his head in his confusion.

" I know what you mean" Rin sighs " Yeah it was a long time ago, but you'd think we would faitly remember them ,especial her" She points to the green girl in one of the pictures " i have no idea who she is" she pulls her blinket tighter around herself

Matsuo picks up the picture of the green girl "I wonder what her name is?" He then looks out the window. He then sits the picture down "I'm going to go outside for a while Rin." Matsuo then goes down out of the tree house and into the large grassy area and lays on the grass under the moonlight. A breeze blows over his body, he closes his eyes once again and enjoys the cool air.

Rin sits alone in the dark tree house " i wonder if anyone in town knows about her" she thinks. "maybe mom nows, she always wanted to know who i was hanging out with." Rin stands up in the tree house and walks over to an old candle and tries to light it. the flam flickers to life as Rin looks around the room at her past. who were the people in the pictures? a few looked like people from town, but not the green girl. Was it even a girl. She couldn't really tell, it was just a kid drawling. Rin steps outside. the quiet air is filled with mystery. "Matsuo" she spoke lightly not wanting to disturb the forest "what do you remember about our childhood?"

Matsuo slowly opens his eyes and thinks about it for a moment. "I don't really remember anything." He thinks for another moment " All of my memories are of you and me." He sits up, left leg straight out and his right knee bent. " I keep trying to remember but the memories just wont come" Matsuo then stared at Rin for a moment "How about you? Anything at all?" He looks at her curiously.

" Not really i was thinking maybe my mother would know and thats about it. We haven't checked the tree house from top to bottom, we might have missed something"

Matsuo stands up. "Maybe we SHOULD check out the entire tree house before we pester your mom with this?" Matsuo hugs Rin as a freezing cold breeze blows over them. As he listened to the wind it seemed as though there were a howling wolf in the distance.

Rin hugs Matsuo back befor they let go to re-enter the tree house " i don't like that sound the wind has carried here." Rin and Matsuo start searching the tree house, behind pictures and toys. It was big for a tree house.

Matsuo opens and old toy trunk and find and old book that looks like it was a journal. The book has a lock on it so he can't open it. "Hey Rin? Is this yours?" He searches the books old, torn cover for a few moments " I can't open it" He walks over to Rin and shows her the book.

"No, well i dont think so, and even if it was mine i don't know where the key...." Rin pauses. on her necklace was a small golden key that she always wore. she and Matsuo had found it near the tree house a few years back." try this" Rin hands Matsuo the key. her heart pounding. Were they going to find what had happend to there memories? Were they going to learn about the green child?

Matsuo puts the key into the lock. It fits. He unlocks the lock and then slowly opens the cover of the book. His face goes blank and he looks at Rin. "I... I can't read it!! It.. it's in some weird language." He hands the book to Rin "Do you know what it says?"

" no.... we could ask the towns librarian . She knows at least 6 laguages, 2 are elfin." Rin looks outside at the rising sun. did time really fly by that fast? It felt like minutes ago it was setting. "well if we start heading out we could make it to town right when the shops start opening, get something to eat if you want, then go see the librarian."

Matsuo ponders on that for a second "Something to eat sounds really good right now." Matsuo picks Rin up into a cradled position and then carries her outside. "Where do you want to eat? I'm paying." He says smiling as he walks down the street.

" oh why thankyou Matsuo. how about at the little inn a mile down the road? theyre not too pricey and they have great jelly pastries and walm milk" Rin grabs the old book and places it into her side bag. " all ready"

Matsuo smiles a sweet, gentle smile "It's no problem Rin." Matsuo and Rin head down the street when he accidentally bumps into an older man with a cloak that covers his face. The man hisses at Matsuo and Matsuo jumps back and draws his sword in a defensive position.

Rin stumbles to her feet pulling out her small but sharp dagger. " who are you old man?" remebering who she was, Rin puts down her dagger and clears her thoat." Im sorry sir, its just that you gave us such a fright."

"Gave you a fright!!" yelled the old man " You two are the ones not paying atention. poor old me minding my own business, on the look out for wolves, gets run into and almost atacked by two strangers."

"once agen we are truely sorry sir. we were in such a rush to get to the Inn down the road. Did you say wolves?" Rin looks at Matsuo and then up and down the road. stopping to listen.. "where did you see wolves?"

"right down the road. about a third of a mile befor you get to the Inn. they attacked my horses and my grand daughter whom i was taking to visit her grand mother. I don't know if shes alive or not." the old man looks hard into our faces looking for something." please help me find her. im to old to do anything."

once agen Rin looks at Matsuo for an ok. it seems they were going to have to wait for their jelly pastries. " well try our hardest sir. what was she wearing?"

Though Matsuo was feeling uneasy helping the strange old man, who had just hissed at him, he went with whatever Rin decided. He put his sword away and stood close to Rin, still defensive. "I don't understand something." He said with a stern yet confused look "Why would WOLVES attack people? It makes no since to me."

Kimu runs up to Rin and Matsuo out of breath "it has been a while since i have seen you two"
in fact it has been years, yes i am back i just came from town the guards killed a wolf that was attacking some traders headed into town i came to warn you and your parents rin, i vividly remember where you live. i am off to warn other close villagers about the wolf attacks and to just tell them to stay on the look out i hope i see you two again soon, he gives rin a hug and gestures a friendly good bye to matsuo and sprints off in the direction the two companions just came.

" thank you Kimu its good to see you, and good luck." Rin watches Kimu run down the road not know when she see him next. turning to Matsuo " yeah i know what you mean Matsuo but a yunge girls life could be a stake if hes telling the truth and we must try and help." Rin grabs on to Matsuo sholder " And i trust you with my life. i know you can fight off 100 wolves. comeon lets get going." Rin and Matsuo are on there way down the road when they hear a twig crack.
