Menewsha, you clever set of unknowing-french-men!
Both my best friend and I joined Menewsha at almost the same time,
the both of us, being silly french-women,
looked at the cat symbol, then "menewsha" and thought to ourselves "French."
thus completely dismissing the actual mysterious reason as to why there's a cat for the menewshan symbol (which has yet to be answered. :/ )
Let me explain the clever french name
Menewsha has given itself (unknowingly)
In Quebec and Manitoba, "Minou" (pronounced "mee-new") is a slang-name for a cat.
When seeing a cat on the street, my sister and I automatically name it "Minou"
just like how english people would name the cat "kitty".
And "chat" (pronounced "sha" ) is the proper word for "cat".
Therefore: Minou-chat = Menewsha.
Menewsha, you clever bunch of french-men! :3
Don't they never seize to impress?
So, what do you think of Menewsha's savy-french ways?
Do you think it's a clue to some sort of conspiracy? Is Menewsha in league with the french, or was this simply a coincidence?
Think it's neat? Your thoughts?
Please remember to comment on others' posts.
Thank you.

Aimee makes a lovely Victorian gent. Perhaps she should consider it as a life long goal.
"My goal in life is to become a Victorian gent ...."
It would be very acquirable for her.
@Dystopia:
Yumeh! I recognise that name! 'w'
Unfortunately I haven't been here long enough to learn exactly who or what Yumeh is,
I simply concluded that s/he's a french-cat.

Hmm. It could have something to do with the original site creator being from England. O:
But I wouldn't know. I don't know that much about Europe or Europeans and their ways. xD

Yumeh is the troublesome kitty who runs around Menewsha generally being fuzzy. ^^
And I like imagining Aimee's reaction to being told she makes a fine Victorian Gent. I suppose so long as she could still stay fashionable and have properly soft and fluffy hair.. she might be ok with it. :P

I always think "minutiae" when I read the title. Interesting coincidences. I suppose we may never truly know since the creator is no longer the owner *shrugs*

Lol, the domain name was bought for £1 or something, nothing clever or coincidental there, but it's entertaining when these things crop up, none-the-less :)

Gotta love it when idiots accidentally come up with clever things.
It reminds me of the show "Kids Say the Darndest Things"
@Elwin:
I guess the name isn't so random anymore considering that there's an interesting explanation for it.
(although I'm unsure of whether the french from France, would recognize
the "minou". It might be a butchered-Canadian-french thing? :/ )
@everyone:
I suppose the French pop up in the most unlikely places, eh?
Someday, I like to think, that there will be a little bit of french in all of us. *__*

Wow - that's certainly an amusing coincidence! I'll never look at our site name the same way again. And now I know something about the French language that I hadn't before. |D Nice, since I hope to learn it someday. *language nut*
...also, I'm jealous. Aimee makes a better Victorian gent than me. And that's one of my stage things. D|

Wow I never knew of that before but it's a fun thing to know now!!
I am sure that the owner never even knew of this when the name was bought. It's simply a smart sounding coincidence now xD
Yay for Yumeh seeming like a French kitty though!!!
Lolol at a little French in all of us xDxD
I do live in Canada so I have been forced to take French for several years so I can see how it would be in me. Although it would only be an extremely small amount D:

You know.. I never looked at it that way and I am half French!! :lol: I do live in Canada so I do know Canadian French as well, as that's mostly what I've been taught.
My neighbor always calls my Cat Minou as well so it's all rather odd.
Though of course I knew of the way the original owner had got the name, and there really was no master plan behind it!

Wow, that's quite amazing. :D I had been questing for menewsha's meaning before I joined it out of curiosity, and came up with naught. o.o
Oddly enough my Professor used a word that sounded like Menewsha to me a few weeks ago. o.o Drove me crazy trying to figure out if I was hearing things or not (I was slightly medicated a the time...).
Thankyou Supreme Commander Gavrila for giving us all a meaning to our beloved oddly named site~! *salutes you*

@PsycArtist: Maybe he used the word " minutiae"? My mother uses it occasionally and that's what she thought I was referring to when I first said the site's name out-loud. They do sound almost the same when spoken.

Yay I'm on a cat site. Hahaha. Even if it where a french site. Aren't all countries allowed here. I think it is pretty cool the name. I also find it very clever. I was wondering what the cat symbol was for and why the site was called this. You have answered one of my questions. yay.
