Well, it might be available in some places. There is only one company for cable in my town so they keep raising the rates as they take away our channels. They don't even tell you when or what channels they will decide to take from you either. Just a bit ago, I was watching Toon Disney and it just went black. In about 2007, I believe, that is what happened to my TechTV/G4TV. I was watching Code Monkeys and it just went to snow, but as long as they don't pull my Scifi Channel, I will be alright. I need my Doctor Who and my Sarah Jane!

It's all American Greek to me.

I watch Doctor Who on BBC 1 and Torchwood on BBC HD. I get what is referred to in the UK as 'cable' because it actually comes from cables (Virgin Media) instead of 'satellite' which comes from satellites (Sky). I also have a Freeview box that doesn't work because I don't have a digital aerial. XD

Yup.
I don't get BBC America.
Sci-Fi has a habit of showing Brit shows a year later.
And no TV watching on the comp for me.

Hence, me trying to survive through withdrawal.

That's okay.
I have a friend who's got the same obsessions as me (excepting the J-pop . . .), so she passes along whatever she gets, when she gets it.

Well, just a shot in the dark before I go back to class, have you tried your local library? I don't like the Scifi Channel very much because they edit the really important parts. I would give a couple of examples, but they might actually be spoilers for you and I hate doing that to people. I know my library here actually has the books and DVDs for Doctor Who. I mean, you could ask a bit. Might be a hit, might be a miss but I think you would probably kick yourself if they did have it and you never thought to ask them about it. The library is a joy. They really are lifesavers at times. Check it out!

Just a friendly reminder from your neighbourhood wannabe librarian! :)

Edit: Try the Doctor Who books too. Some of them are actually very nice though they all tend to blend for my endless book sniffing and word hoarding of a self.

I shall make sure to do that! I'd forgotten about it, to be honest. I have a book to return in a couple days, so I might as well ask while I'm there.

The BBC doesn't have advertising during shows so I don't know if they cut them to make them fit into time slots with adverts or just force them in at odd moments.

I was watching Random Shoes on a channel called Watch:
When Gwen goes to tell Mrs Jones about what has happened to Eugene they put a random advert just after she says something like "But his tea is on the table!". I burst out laughing. They totally ruined the moment.
Spoiler for Torchwood series 1? I forgot what had been agreed on as safe for discussion XD

The Torchwood novels are way more fun than I was expecting them to be. Do you have any recommendations regarding the Doctor Who books Nyx if they haven't all blended together? XD

@KatMagenta I'm pretty much brain dead on that point. I was reading some older ones too. I'm just going to have to re-read everything I think because I don't think I have really kept an ounce of Whotelligence from that adventure.

If you're interested in the classic books the BBC has a few free ones on their classic Who website here. I've saved a couple of the pdf files to read later when I don't have so many real books lined up.

I read there are going to be another four Torchwood books out this year as well. ^^

Libraries are wonderful inventions. Om nom nom.

I just slept in till late and then spent an hour watching Being Human and now I really want to watch Doctor Who, but I feel like I really really really should try to get some work done. :F

Oh man, they were perfectly on time to close the event. Damn. >.<
Only three experience points! And I would've had the shiny sword. *sigh*

Aww, the status page never came about so we'll probably never get to see all of our badges properly. :/

I still have 7 feathers. *eats them*

Yeah.. I think I saw someone (was it jelly?) say they might make something post-event with the badges and things but I can't be sure.
I do think the Red roses team won though as we were in second place in most hits given, right behind black skulls I think? But we were had less hits taken than them though, so.. if my math is right (and it usually isn't), I think we won? o:

I like your logic. I haven't really been paying too much attention to the leader table. At the beginning of the week Black Skull had the most hits given and taken. XD

It would be nice to know who won the Winter team event too. Yellow Star were small but mighty.

Oh, yeah.. I didn't really participate in that at all. I meant to, but I was too busy focusing on being home for the holidays, I think.

My logic is EPIC. Or so my boyfriend tells me. Or did he say it was epic FAIL? I can't remember. >.>

...for the record, if there's anything EPIC FAIL about me, it's my memory. Just so you know, if I happen to forget anything really important. It's part of the reason I love the internet actually, I can always look things up and it'll only take me a few seconds so even in an IM conversation, I can actually look like I know what I'm talking about without suspicious delays in getting back to people.

I think I'm gonna watch one more Heroes episode and then go to sleep, I daren't skip tomorrow's Art History lecture or my tutor might kill me. Or, you know, not give me a chance with my essay he failed me on. >_____>

Nighty night!

I can only remember things if they're totally useless. It was once commented to me when I was at a gig that I could remember the lyrics to every Belle & Sebastian song but not the name of the support band I had just watched.

Anyway, good night ljos! I'll be going to bed when I finish this blasted Chemistry coursework. My graphs have gone out of their way to be awkward.

Yeah. I can remember completely useless things too, random trivia and lyrics and stuff like that, but I can't remember names, dates or what the hell I was going to do today. And apparently, things like taking my phone off discreet when I'm relying on it to wake me up. e______e

Edit: Hey Jessie, what are you watching? : )

Supernatural.
I like mythical things. I am so not a Dean fangirl. I like the effects they made with Bloody Mary. Still trying to learn to bleed from the eyes. jkjk. But I really do like all the ghost stories and stuff they deal with.

Ah, I've never seen that show. Is it good? Not that I need any more recommendations.. >.>

I decided to take a break from the Doctor and try something different with my avatar, now I have no idea what to do with it. I have so many new items I wanted to try but all the same, this is all I came up with. Bah. I'm going to change it later, it's time for shower now.

yes ljos. join us of the dark skinned -cackles-

ahem anyways. Supernatural is really good. it starts off on one plot, or so it seems, but then you get the feeling theres something more than just what they are really doing. And what really tickled me was that one of the newest episodes was titled Criss Angel is a Douche Bag. sorry for the cursing but it seemed hilarious to classify all magicians like Criss Angel then precede to call him a Douche Bag. I am a fan of his weird tricks. Anywho back to Supernatural. I think its about Season 2 or 3 when you fully get into the real plot xD.
