Why not? What is wrong with your country? Are you planning to move when you are older (I am assuming you are still in school...if not my apologies)?

The economy and the governemnt is reallly.... *coughcusswordherecough* up. There are many personal reasons for not liking Latvia (Or rather' the people that make it), too. So, yes, if I finish my school well enough, I will try to move out somewhere... I would probably not find a job here, anyways. We need only the hard workers or teachers or doctors. I don't want to be any of them, especially at the tiny wages. x_x
And hello there, Bunny.

Uuuh, upset about this one thing... I think I will be heading off soon. ><
And, yeah. About 30000-40000 teachers will lsoe job at the new year of school and probably at least 5000 of old teachers will leave jobs because they get only 30% of their pension if they work. ._.

I am worried actually about this. I am in the medical field (but I work in the schools) and I am worried that the new healthcare Obama will plan, will mean a paycut for medical professionals like myself. Here's the problem. I paid over 100grand for my education and poured a TON of time into my education too...and if fields like mine end up with a paycut, no one will want to go into the profession...Which will result in less people to provide services, and there is not enough practitioners at the moment as it is. Doctors have HUGE liability insurance as well...The costs could soon outweight the benefits to become a doctor, and if that happens we are all up a creek.
I really hope Obama get's it right, and cuts the profits for the insurance companies (possibly making them non-profit organizations or something) and does not cut the profits for the practitioners.

Yeah I've decided that I'm going to run a charity on Gaia. There are some people on the site who I still talk to and like who are questing for some expensive stuff and I figured why not help them out?
@Daria: now you know what it's like to be a teacher, only they've always been paid crap even though many of them are highly educated (like my dad who has a masters degree) and spent a lot of money on their education.

Hey Adian, you accidentally double posted...
I would like to take a moment to respectfully disagree with your statement in a nonhostile manner...
Um, the thing is while both professions are underpaid, Doctors hold people's LIVES in their hands...Yes, teachers hold everyone's future in their hands, and are underpaid, I don't want to see a doctor shortage in out country.
I don't think your statement is entirely fair for many reasons, first, I have been underpaid for years...but I am not sure that was the point...Second, while there is a teacher shortage, there is a much larger therapist shortage. We are not graduating enough people to replace those retiring from working, let alone account for the baby boomers increasing in age and needing our services as well as the expansion of my field into the school setting...I just don't think because the teachers are paid poorly, medical professional should be as well. Also, to get my degree, I had to take out a LOT of money in private medical loans...What motivation is there for others to go deep in debt if there is no chance of being able to pay back that debt whatsoever? I pay over 700.00 a month to try to pay back my college loans. If my salary continues to get cut, not only will I be unable to pay for my education, but an already too small worker pool will become even smaller. Why work in a field that costs too much both financially and time wise (my field requires a master's degree) when more money can be made in other fields? The logic is just not there...and I don't want to see my clients suffer, or my relatives/friends suffer, because the financial cuts are made in the wrong place.
Healthinsurance should NOT be a moneymaking business. People's lives should not be dictated by whether or not a person's health insurance approves medical procedures. This is where the financial cuts need to be made and things need to change. People with preexisting conditions need medical coverage from somewhere, and the US system doesn't help these people out one iota. I have seen several friends go bankrupt because of medical bills...
And I DON'T think it's okay to under pay our teacher's either. These professionals are responsible for our future, and we treat it way too lightly...They put blood, sweat and tears into our children, and are lucky if they get a "thank you" card from a student, because you better believe they aren't getting raises.
The argument you make is a "two wrongs will make a right" kind of statement...While two Wrights did make an airplane, they don't make good medical care or education.
