Yeah, I hear you on the life getting hectic and the dissonance felt with letting people down. x.o; At least you'll have a bit more time to focus on uni coming up. That must be pretty exciting and scary all in one. I know you'll do just fine though. You have the smarts for it.

When do you start? I have about 3 more weeks of break before classes begin. I'm working part-time right now. ^-^ Things are going well. Kin and I are on month 2 of actively trying for a baby, so we'll see if I have a hellspawn in another year. That's the only really "big" thing. Before we just went on with the idea of "eh, if it happens it happens" but now we're plotting cycles and stuff to try and get a better handle on things.

His parents are flying out this Saturday for a week. He's pretty excited for it. :)

Other than that? Same old stuff!

I actually start really late compared to lots of unis around here. I can move in from the 2nd of October, but I really wanted to spend some time with my best friend before she starts her 2nd year near the end of September, so I'm taking all of September to myself. And I want to go over my Psych notes from college, just so I'm relatively caught up.

That's so exciting about trying for a baby! Aww. :cute: You'll have to keep me informed! n.n

And aside from work and all that, it's actually the same old stuff with me. Actually, tell a lie, things are much better for me than usual. The only 'off' thing is that my younger sister is being a bit silly about living with her boyfriend and not knowing whether she wants to stay with him, but comes home when she doesn't like being there with him. o.O

Rando, when do you foresee you'll be done with schooling completely?

I'm not too sure, I'd like to do my ph.d. in English, but want to do my Law masters first, and only one masters at a time. Or unless there is a Law ph.d. I may do that, but I'm not sure how useful that'll be.

So I still have 3 years for English, 4 for Law.
Being 24 with two masters shouldn't be too bad, right?

Being 24 with 2 masters is more than accomplished. At that point I'd only pursue a PhD if I really wanted to. But, I also love school. *nerd*

I know it's different there than here, and it varies field to field, but I've been coaxed into not getting a PhD in Psychology because a lot of places would find me overqualified. BUT. With Psychology, I've been told the (basic) difference is that with a PhD you can medically diagnose individuals. It's not like you can't do all the same work with an MA and just refer a client to someone with a PhD for diagnosing for medical (insurance) purposes.

But like I said, it's probably just for Psych and not other areas. And probably just in this country. :XD

Sorry for the disappearance. I have a rather awkward work situation to sort out. Basically the girl I pick up on my way to work hasn't given me any petrol money, ever, and so I've told her I'm not picking her up and she's being uber funny about it.

Don't let people tell you that Psych will get you nowhere. It's true that with a Bachelor's not much can be done, but there's no reason you can't pursue a Master's. And hell, even getting a Bachelor's will leave you changing the way you think. I'd not trade the experience for anything, ever.

It's about doing what makes us happy in life. And if you end up drinking, then I probably will too. :XD

Psychology I think has it's specified areas of work, but the great thing about that area is I doubt it will ever be automatised. I don't think it's possible. Plus, there are many different branches within psychology you can pursue.

@Chi: With a ph.d. in English or Law, I believe the only thing I can really do with it is teach university. I wouldn't really do it to teach, I'd do it because having a ph.d. will really change peoples' opinions about you. Of course there is the possibility that I'll be overqualified and not hired due to being too expensive.

But considering the area of Law I would like to go into, I'll already be rather expensive. xD

I am better off. She's not someone I would have chosen to be a friend with on any day. She's giving me excuses like, "if I could afford it, I would give it to you," but I know she has been able to afford it at least a few times and I've never gotten anything.

I keep getting ill, too, because I have to wake up at 4:30 on my morning shifts, to leave at 5 so that I can pick her up, and get to work half an hour too early before we start. She's said it's not fair of me to blame my illness on her, but I never get ill on my afternoon shifts. Do you think it was wrong of me to say that? o.O

I don't know if we have Bachelor's and Master's, but I know I'm probably going to study further even when I've finished my 3 years at uni. I actually don't even know what I end up with. All the uni guides say Bsc, or something like that. o.O

What state do you live in Chi? I'm actually spending next summer over in America, we could drink together! xD

Rando: I think any subject anyone studies they're gonna get flack about it. Like Drama, or even Physics. From the outside, it's like, what can you do with that? but I know that I have many options with Psychology, and you probably have lots with English, I just don't know them. :P

When people do that, it always annoys me. My friend sometimes loans money out to people. She's very patient, but then occasionally I'll hear her say that said friends have made frivolous purchases before paying her back. *sigh* I couldn't do it.

I think your "Masters" would be equivalent to you pursuing further education after your 3 years. :yes:

I'm already facing some "meh" from pursuing education. My mother has her Bachelor's. My aunt has her Master's. But it feels like some days the only one who really supports my education and takes me seriously is my grandmother. And I love her for it, especially since her sister went to hell after getting her degree in Psych. (I guess one of my great aunts is very judgmental as a result, even though some her life choices are, for lack of the better word, scary.)

My grandmother's really great. :gonk: She loves listening to everything I'm learning. She usually begins the questions, too. Asks me why I think this and that happens and whatever. She's really engaging...
