@Lyliko/Kisaki- I used to feel remorse... because one time when I was little I squished an ant, and my dad made me watch it die. But then, last year, like 100 ants infested my room, and my dad made me kill them all.

It was huge. Massive. Colossal.
Larger than a quarter, but not quite two quarters. And that was just its body; it's unnatural for one that size to be here. So I see it fluttering in my curtains, and I think Oh, he can't get in, the curtains are pinned to the wall, he'll go back out the window.
But he doesn't. He squeezes through and flutters around and does a mating dance with my lamp, then tries to murder me!

He's gone now, so I'm hoping he managed to squeeze his way back through the window.

It's no trouble, Suona.
It's one of my earliest memories. I was on a lake beach, just sitting in the sand and building a castle with one of those cheap sand-castle sets. You know, the ones with the thick plastic shovel and rake and a shapely bucket? Well, I had just dumped out the bucket when I look up and see this beautiful butterfly flutter down in the sand nearby. It was very large, much larger than my hands. Well, I stood up because I was curious, but it also took flight towards me. By then, I had spun around and screamed, booking it down the beach towards the house.
And my grandmother is watching out the window, laughing, because she sees this little girl chased by a harmless butterfly.

I can't bring myself to feel bad about gnats, fruit flies, or mosquitoes. I really can't. Because where I live, they are sooo numerous, it's hard not to kill them, even when you're not trying. I try to keep my rooms very cool, because they can't survive in the cold. That gets hard when I don't run the AC often though.

I love butterflies. Whenever I go out and I'm wearing a watch they'll land on my wrist and try to eat under my watch. XD They must think I'm a shiny flower. LoL

We don't have too many up here, because of the cold weather, but there are some numerous ones in the woods. Mosquitoes are almost our state bird, in fact. I will swat at them all the time, no trouble. But I generally try to shoo insects and arachnids out of the area I'm using without killing them.

It was pretty startling. I laugh about it now, so it's not so bad. And it makes for quite the story.
It's sort of like a theme, I guess. I attract a lot of bees, and this summer, it was hard to find me without one or two buzzing around my mouth, as weird as that sounds.

I don't actively go out of my way to kill bugs. But it can't be helped sometimes. I have no remorse for mosquitoes, absolutely none. I figure the blood I have donated to their population levels out the few that I have killed.
