Moonlight Orphanage - Open & Accepting
Plot: It is the 45'th Century. Many races have been discovered to be true and magic isn't new anymore. With magic, a forest by a lake was tracked down. It used to be a home for unicorns, elves, mermaids and nymphs but the waves of magic were too powerful there to live in the wild, so most of the creatures moved away. One Enchantress Elf and a Fortuneteller Nymph collected the magic in one Crystal Snowflake and hid it in the bottom of the lake in the Coral castle for the Nix's and Mermaids to protect. Now, an Orphanage has been made there. Specifically the Moonlight Orphanage by the Moonlight Lake...

Age: 16

Race: Human
Class: Enchantress
Appearance:
Bio: She always knew she was different. Her mother always told her she was special, one of a kind. Sadly her mother suffered a tragic death when Malia was only 7 so since then she has been thrown around relatives who took care of her poorly and never appreciated her. That is until she went to her great aunt Genevive. She told Malia she was special too, and that she was an enchantress, not as powerful as some considering she is a human but powerful none the less and her gift needed to be cherished. So then Great Aunt Genevive sent her to the moonlight orphanage to learn how to use her powers properly.
Phobias: Snakes
Other: After years of abuse she had learned to take care of herself, so she may look little and timid but if someone annoys or hurts her then she pounces!

Name: Rosario Cooper (Prefers to be called Cooper or Rio)
Age: 16
Gender: Male
Likes: Both but prefers Men
Race: Snake Demon and Elf
Class: Summoner
Appearance: [True Form]
Art by Yuni at deviantart.com
Bio: Cooper is unfortunately the result of a rather nasty rape. His mother, a very high noble in the Elven courts, was attacked at the age of fourteen by his father, a half snake being, while out on a walk in the forest. Nine months later little Cooper was born. Unlike his father he had legs instead of a long snake body, but was covered in translucent scales and had a stubby little tail poking out of his bottom.
His mother tried very hard to keep him for some time and she did indeed love him, but the trauma of his conception and the disapproval of her fellow elves led her to a breakdown. In the end she was forced to relinquish him to the Moonlight Orphanage when he was little more than a year old. He has been there ever since.
Through the years Cooper learned how to control his appearance allowing himself to look more and more human. Also he learned that being half snake had its benefits. He was insanely flexible like a snake and fast to boot, not to mention his plated armor was nearly indestructible. Recently hes discovered that he can summon things, he still needs practice though.
Phobias: Boats, hes convinced that the boat will sink if he goes on one and hes terribly afraid of drowning.
Other: He can talk to most animals but prefers to be around reptiles because he is more closely related to them.
Username: Nekochan5345
Name: Markus Grant
Age: 17
Gender: Male
Likes: Both
Race: Angel
Class: Priestess
Appearance:
Also by Yuni
Bio: Grant was the run of the mill baby left on the porch of the Orphanage. When he fist came to the orphanage he was assumed to be a normal human child left at the gates. The only thing that might have suggested otherwise was a 'birthmark' on his back that looked like a Gothic set of wings and his uncanny ability to heal the sick just by touching them. No one really paid much mind to this until one day one of the orphanage staff came to his room and found him lying unconscious in a pool of blood with a pair of crimson stained white wings and a glowing halo over his head.
Over the years Grant has mastered the art of shifting his wings between the tattoo and the tangible form, hes never been able to get rid of the halo though which bothers him quite a bit.
Phobias: Hes not a big fan of fire or Demons. He also cant stand the smell of hand sanitizer but that doesn't seem very important does it?
Other: He doesn't really care for waring clothing, so you'll often find him walking around in his birthday suit. He does fancy jewelry though, so don't leave your valuables out in the open.

Appearance: She has deep dark brown eyes.
Bio: Before Willow was even born, her human mother was a slave to a very powerful demon Lord in the far east. The Lord specially picked out Willow's mother as his bride and later that year her mother gave birth to a tiny, pale skinned baby Willow. As the years passed, Willow's mother slowly became to love her husband. But as her mother's love grew, her father's diminished and quickly turned to hate. He was angry at the woman for not bearing him a son instead of a daughter. Some nights, the Lord hit Willow's mother and Willow was forced to listen through the walls of her bedroom late at night. After months of hurt and abuse Willow's poor mother couldn't take it any longer and committed suicide. By that time Willow was almost twelve years old. Her father never beat Willow because he feared her for what powers she had yet to show. So out of fear he sent Willow to live at Moonlight and there she has been ever since.
Phobias: Spiders of all things
Other: -Willow is very bold girl, she got that way because of all the things she's had to go through. She doesn't put up with nonsense, and always tries to do the right thing, no matter the consequence. -She always has her dagger with her, strapped to a sheath on her belt. -As is tradition in her Father's family, Willow has a very unique series of intricate tattoos that grace the back of her right shoulder blade and crawls down across her back to the left side of her waist.

Rainy opened her eyes slowly. She had fell asleep by the lake again. "I can't believe it! I fell asleep AGAIN! And my legs are STILL in the water! I have to find a decent spot for my walks... like a tree! That is where I CAN fall asleep with no trouble..."
Rainy stood up and dried her legs. Drops of water were falling down her feet. She shook them and ran up to a tree. It was the tree that her house used to be on. She could recover the part where her room was, so it reminds a little tree-house. She climbed up to the top branches and looked around. It was the highest tree in the forest. She had a great view to the lake, the Orphanage Mansion and the rest of the forest. She got a warm feelings, when her eyes spotted the bottom of the lake. She saw the Great Hall. It had an un-breakable glass ceiling, and she saw the Crystal Snowflake, sparkling and swirling, in a magical bubble, that cannot be broken, just like the ceiling.´´The Crystal Snowflake... It is still there, unharmed, safely kept away from living beings...´´ Rainy was happy to see the thing that destroyed her parents, her house, her life, kept away from all others who survived from that blow. It made her calm that such a disaster won't happen again...

Malia looked around at the wonderfull surroundings of the Moonilght orphanage, although she slightly resented the name. She smiled at the scenery, the clear blue sky and the lush green forrest. She felt calm, safe and free. It was an amazing feeling. In the past she felt so small and dark, but now it wa slike someone opened a window and the sun came blaring in.
She turned on her heel and faced her Great aunt, the woman who made it all possible. Malia loved her for that, from the top of her slivery hair to the soles of her purple leather boots. She was eccentric to say the least, shrowded in beaded shawls and wearing long flowing monsoon dresses over her rather wide figure. She looked mad but had lovely warm caring eyes, a bright purple colour, just like Malia's.
Malia hugged her tight, wrapping her arms tight around the woman that saved her, made her believe she wasn't weird or a waste of space, but normal, special, a perosn who mattered. Malia hadn't felt like that since her mother.
"Thank you, this is wonderfull!" She whispered into Genevive's chest. Malia stepped back and collected her suitcase from the carridge, the driver was waiting impatiently for her to do that, the bright white horse snorting boredly. She grinned. This was the start of a whole new life for her, a place to make her. She could change her life here! This was the break she was waiting for!

Rainy looked below. A white horse, fancy carridge, some lady and a girl with a suitcase. That could mean only one thing. "A new orphan!" Rainy giggled exitedly and slided down the tree. She ran to the girl and without her knowing, all of the trees around started blooming and had fruits, bushes grew berries, flowers got prettier than they already were and the grass shaved itself. "Oops, I did it again... I should be less exited... The plants will exaust them self like that..." Rainy blushed and walked to Malia. "Hi! I'm Rainy-Rose Renear! You can call me Rainy. Nice to meet you!" Rainy smiled...

Alexander sat with his legs crossed comfortably in the waiting room outside of the headmaster's office. His long braid was unceremoniously draped over his shoulder so he wouldn't sit on it, and it trailed limply into the seat next to him. The room was quite boring, and Alexander had been waiting for a good length of time already. He had been reduced to inspecting his slightly pointed nails, which were nearly perfect. He didn't work much with his hands, but there were still little parts on some cuticles that had been torn from daily ware and tear. Alexander pulled a small yet gracefully curved black bottle from his pocked and unscrewed the cap. He had picked this up very recently and had been meaning to try it, a human invention called 'nail polish'. Alexander marvelled at the tiny brush attached to the cap for a moment before deftly coating his first nail with black in two strokes. He watched in satisfaction as the liquid dried slowly. He continued onto his other nails, and that occupied a few minutes of his time. After Alexander had finished he placed the bottle back in his pocket and glanced around for something interesting. His eyes immediately fell on a plump woman who was staring avidly at him from across the room. A slight flush raced to her cheeks and she quickly looked away when Alexander caught her staring. Alexander looked down and thought how strange he must look to a normal person, but with his lanky and skeletal form he looked horrible in any sort of conventional shirt. He adjusted his corset self consciously and tried to pull his coat tighter. He then looked at his other clothes and sighed, the outfit had caught his attention, due to it's unique asymmetrical coloring, but the orange and black combo was a little reminiscent of that human holiday, Halloween. That must be what the woman was thinking. Alexander smiled, unaware of the fact that it made him look scarier due to the stitches running from the edge of his lips to very near his ears. He imagined how she would be looking at him if she could see him a little better. Alexander pulled his hat a little lower over his face, though his eyes were already obscured by his hair, he couldn't be too careful though. Alexander hummed under his breath, something that sounded strikingly like 'boys and girls of every age...'.

Malia jumped a little as Rainy ran up to her. She looked around at all the trees as fruit had suddenly bloomed on them, she smiled. This was her sort of place. She waved to Great Aunt Genevive as the carridge pulled away, the horse running away at its fast pace speed.
I looked at Rainy and grinned.
"Hello there Rainy, thats a really unusual name. I am Malia, Malia Viollette. It is quite a weird second name, spelt almost like violet but pronounced Veeolay. its a pleasure to meet you by the way, your the first person I have met here," I burbled happily to her she seemed nice.
I gave the trees another look and then turned to the magnificent mansion. I looked up at the tall roof and the marble and took in all its splendor. It was like a fantasy home, I couldn't believe it was real!
"Rainy? Where abouts do I go to tell people I'm here?" I asked her.

Rainy sighed, relieved that she didn't seem stupid. "Malia Viollette... That is a beautyfull name! You must be the girl we were expecting. Everyone were so exited... All the nymphs were singing about you, mermaids already made you seashell-jewelery as a welcoming-gift. The other orphans are currently outside. It is breaktime after breakfast, so when they come back for lunch, we'll introduce you. I'll show you to your room..." Rainy smiled when they were at the door of Malia's room. "This is it. Your room. I took care of the plants here. When you want to change it, just ask someone. Oh! You must be starving from such a long trip here! I'll go get some food! Do you like vegetables, fruits, meat, sea-food, sweets, fried things or pizza? We have everything!" Rainy grinned and her ears twitched.

(by the way, are the orphanage and school presided over by a headmaster or headmistress? I'm assuming headmaster, but I can change it if you like.)
Alexander yawned and began leafing through a magazine he had found on a small end table. Suddenly the door opened and a woman holding a clipboard adjusted her glasses as she stared down at it. She cleared her throat and then spoke, her words ringing sharply in the silent room.
"Vladicus, Alexander."
Alexander stood and swept his braid back behind him, where it gently swayed, the bat-like clasp glinting in the light.
"Ah, that would be me miss."
The woman opened the door wide and motioned him past with her clipboard. Alexander placed his hands in his pockets and took a few strides into the secretary's office, looking around with interest. The office was rather spartan, a few awards and such were hung on the walls and a potted tree stood in one corner, but the room was empty save for the secretaries desk and the two chairs that sat in front of it. Alexander took a seat in one of the chairs facing the desk, just as the secretary seated herself behind the desk. She shuffled through a file of papers, and cleared her throat again before speaking.
"Now Mr. Vladicus--"
"Alexander."
The secretary stopped seeming slightly annoyed at being interrupted, but she just adjusted her glasses and continued.
"Alexander then, it seems you come highly recommended by one of our field recruiting agents concerning the darkest branch of magic."
Alexander smiled, again seeming to smile much more widely than usually possible due to the stitches. Alexander felt her gaze as she took them in.
"Yes, I helped him out of a tight spot. He somehow offended a powerful coven and was up to his ears in angry vampires."
The secretary looked again to the papers, a crease appearing between her eyebrows.
"It looks as if our background check was unable to find out much about you, so of course I will need to ask some very personal questions. You are a drow, yes?"
Alexander nodded.
"And you are how old?"
"One hundred and twenty nine years."
The secretary's eyebrows rose, threatening to disappear into her wavy brown hair.
"No wonder we were unable to find you in any records. Were you born--"
Alexander cut her off again.
"No. Something most... unfortunate happened to me. And I allowed the darkness to overtake me in that moment of weakness. And once it's in... it never leaves."
Again the secretary's eyebrows rose.
"So you were an elf originally? What clan might I ask."
Alexander lifted his hand and a stack of neatly bound parchment landed in his palm with a puff of darkness. He handed it to her without a word. The secretary leafed through the obviously old records, looking increasingly astonished. She handed the records back without any more questions.
"I have to ask you know, the safety of our children is important."
The secretary rubbed her chin looking thoughtful.
"Strictly off the record, this wont affect our decision at all, may I inquire as to the origin of the..."
The secretary traced a line on her cheek indicating Alexander's stitches. Alexander lifted his own hand and traced the line where his cheek was stitched together, giving him an eternal smile.
"These have no particular magical meaning or otherwise. It was a personal choice, I'd rather not go into it."
The secretary looked darkly curious.
"I had heard that drow sometimes use magical body augmentation surgeries to enhance dark powers and such, so I was just wondering... Though I can barely seem to sense the magic within you."
She picked up her file once again.
"Some of the things he says in here, is this report entirely accurate?"
Alexander smiled again.
"I assure you it is completely accurate, as that was a life or death situation. And you are correct in your knowledge of drow lore, though in my case..."
Alexander swept off his hat and pushed his hair aside, revealing that both his eyes were completely stitched closed.
"The augmentation was meant as a seal, not an enhancement."
Alexander placed his hat back on his head, but left his hair parted. The secretary looked taken aback for a moment.
"But... how do you..."
Alexander chuckled.
"See? I have perfect thee hundred and sixty degree color vision, the only drawback is that it only extends about ten feet in each direction."
Alexander motioned around the small room.
"In a place like this it is no problem, but when I'm outside It's rather like walking in a very large bubble that's keeping thick white mist at bay. And I'm rubbish at looking out windows."
The secretary nervously adjusted her glasses again.
"And this wont affect your ability to teach?"
Alexander laughed.
"Oh, I'm quite a capable enchanter with the seals in place. I'm fairly certain you wont be wanting me to teach them advanced necromancy or anything high level like that, so my basic powers will suffice."
The secretary looked relieved.
"Are they permanent?"
Alexander shook his head and indicated his right eye.
"This one can only unseal in a life and death situation or for the protection of someone dear."
The secretary waited, and when he did not continue she looked at him questioningly.
"And the other?"
Alexander looked at her, his face suddenly devoid of emotion, yet still seeming to smile creepily.
"Will never open again. It is not permanent per se, but I will make sure it never opens again."
The secretary looked mildly frightened by his frosty tone, but extended her hand nonetheless.
"Welcome to Moonlight orphanage. You'll be instated as a teacher as soon as term starts. I'm sorry you could not meet with the headmaster himself, he's rather busy as of now, but you will meet him soon."

Inside the orphanage things were rather calm. It was beautiful day and the way that the light passed through the crystal windows almost made the upstairs look magical. Probably because it was, but that’s beside the point. Still, the house was peaceful and silent except for the hum of the fans that floated in the air instead of being bolted to the ceiling, the chirping of the birds and the snapping of the cards that came from the two boys seated at the table.
The two of them each held a half deck of cards as they stared each other down. Grant glared at Cooper evilly as he pulled out another face down card from his hand and waited for him to do the same. Cooper just smiled and pulled another card out, looking quite pleased with himself. Then the two of them flipped their cards around and placed them down on the table, Cooper discarding his own with a loud snap as it hit the table making his partner twitch uncomfortably at the sound. The two looked at the cards and Grant couldn’t help but let out a grunt of frustration. Snap, Snap, Snap. Three more face down cards. Cooper smiled again as they threw down their fourth card face up to the growing pile. Grant sneered. Two queens. Snap. Snap. Snap. Two tens.
“GAH!!” Grant yelled, slamming the rest of his cards down onto the table, “Seven Wars in a row! Cooper stop it!”
“Stop what? I’m not doing anything,” he said with a impish smirk.
“You are you little bastard! Your summoning the same card! Or reading my mind or something!” Grant said pointing one ring encased finger accusingly at his opponent. Cooper just smirked.
“I don’t know what your talking about,” he grinned.
“Whatever,” He huffed and scooted around on his seat.
“Aw come on! I’m bored! Please play. I won’t cheat anymore! I promise!,” Cooper whined. Grant wasn’t listening though, his eyes were stuck on the scene forming outside as he peered through the window. It wasn’t something he saw everyday, such a fancy arrival for an orphan, it was kind of weird if you asked him. Cooper craned his neck to see what the older boy was looking at, but the light from his halo was casting a glare on the window, making it impossible for him to see anything.
“What cha looking at?” Cooper asked.
“New girl” He explained.
“Shes here!?” Cooper chirped excitedly, “Then come on! Lets go see!”
“Wha wait-!” But Grant couldn’t stop him as he grabbed his arm and thundered down the stairs to go see the new girl.

Rainy headed to the kitchen when she saw a woman exiting from some room. Rainy had always wondered what could be in that room. When the woman was out of sight, she entered the room slowly. At first she didn't see anyone in the room. She looked around. It wasn't exactly a small room. She saw a desk and behind it was the chair. She screamed. Rainy had only now noticed a man, with pointy ears, dark skin, long braid, a corset, some kind of cape and a staff next to him. That man had stitches on his cheek, so Rainy just couldn't help but to scream. She figured that man would be a Dark Elven Drow. "Um... I'm sorry, I'm very, very sorry for interrupting, I just never knew what is kept in this room, so I peeked for a moment... Again, I'm very, very, very sorry!" Rainy made a bow and lowered her head to hear what she had to hear - a shout 'get out of here!'. She hoped it would never come, but she couldn't be sure...

Malia smiled as Rainy spoke of all the magical creatures that lived here, she knew they existed but from where she was from they were not very common. Rainy led Malia to her room, She stepped inside after her and looked around, speacheless, it was beautiful.
It was a simple room, a bed a dresser, a desk and chair, the usual stuff. It was a lovely warm creamy colour with chocolate brown furnature and duvet cover. There were lots of plants and flowers dotted around, the room obviously took inspiration from the surrounding forrests. There was a bookcase to my left full to the brim with old leatherbound books of spells and magic and all sorts.
She put my suitcase on her bed and had a quick scan of the bookcase, it looked interesting, she was looking forward to spending her nights happily reading. Some titles seemed a little dull "Herbal remedies and where they came from" and "Should you trust the trees" but others seemed really interesting "Magic for beginners: How to befuddle your buddies and extermanate enemies" and "An Enchantress' tale"
She stood up again and turned around as Rainy offered her some food.
"Thank you Rainy, you seem are nice. This room is fantastic! I can't wait to introduce myself to the rest of the school. Well now that you mention it I am a little hungry and that food you mentioned does sound delicious! Um, perhaps I could have a slice of pizza?" Malia said to Rainy and then smiled at her. Then she remembered something she said.
"Did you say mermaids and nymphs were singing songs and making jewelery just for me? Really?"

Copper rounded the corner hard, making his cargo slam into the wall rather hard. Grant yelled at him, but he wasnt really paying much attention. He could see the new girls room. He didnt much feel like disturbing her, he was a gentlemen after all, or at least tryed to be. In the end he just settled for knocking. Knocking was alright wasnt it? Not too rude? He didnt really care.
So he knocked on the door lightly.
"Hello?" He asked quietly, trying to hide the excitement in his voice and failed miserably.

Malia turned towards the door and towards the knocking and smiled. Somebody else had come to greet her. What lovely people they all seemed to be. Very exciteable too. She walked towrads him and extended her hand.
"Hello," she said brightly. "Nice to meet you. I'm Malia, Malia Viollette."

Cooper took her hand gratefully and shook it like a maniac. For a second he actually let out a little squeal of excitement that he couldn't hold in a moment longer. Grant slapped his face rather comically and wondered why he hung out with this idiot.
"Nice to meet you I'm Cooper, Rosario Cooper!" He said, mimicking her introduction with a huge goofy grin.

Malia smiled at Cooper, raising her eyebrows slightly at his squeal. Why was everyone so excited about meeting her? Were they really this nice to everyone, or was there something special about her?
"Well it is lovely to meet you Cooper," She said and then turned to the one who slapped him. "Hi, who might you be?"
She took her hand back, rather surprised by they way Cooper shook it but smiled at them never the less. Although Cooper was exciteable he seemed nice enough. Maybe Malia and him could br friends. Alone here she would need all the friends she could get.

"Uh Im Grant..." he said blatantly but not trying to sound as bored as he had made it sound. He didnt like people calling him by his first name. Markus seemed like a pretty dorky name if you asked him and mark didn't seem to fit his personality.
Cooper pouted at him for a second, not likeing how impolite his response sounded. Looking back at Malia, he smiled and nudged Grant hard in the ribs with his plated elbow. Grant nearly fell over as the wind was knocked out of him.
"Dont mind him hes just cranky," he chirped.

Malia grinned at them both. She nodded at Grant and at Cooper she stepped back from the doorway.
"Hiya Grant, I don't mind, introductions can be boring at times but a nessecity," She said smiling. "Would you two like to come in?"
She gestured to her bedroom and grinned.
"I could use some company as I unpack?"

(Sorry, I had to get some sleep. ^.^ and his stitches are on both cheeks giving him a creepy smile, a little like the heath ledger joker, just creepier.)
Alexander turned and regarded the girl standing in the doorway, quickly hiding his eyes with his hair as he turned.
"Oh it's perfectly alright, we were just finishing up here."
Alexander looked around.
"I believe this is the secretary's office..."
Alexander looked to the woman and she nodded in confirmation.
"And that room over there is the headmaster's office."
Alexander pointed to a polished wood door leading off to the right of the secretary's office. A small brass plaque was inscribed 'headmaster's office.'
Alexander chuckled.
"Well obviously..."
Alexander stood and stared at his staff questioningly, when had that happened? Alexander shrugged and sent the staff away with a wave.
"If you have some business with the madam secretary I would be happy to hasten my departure."

"Sure!" Cooper chirped happily and scuttled into the room, not bothering to wait for his buddy to follow. Grant was not nearly as animated about the room, he had been in plenty before, even more that were not filled with personal belongings like hers was. So it wasn't something that seemed that he needed to get all worked up over. Cooper obviously didnt feel the same as he buzzed around the room excitedly.
After a moment, Grant gave a little shrug.
"Sure...why not" he said and walked into the room giving Malia a little nod of thanks for inviting them in.

She smiled as they both came in. Malia opened up her large pink suitcase and then turned to them both.
"You can take a seat if you want, it would just be nice to have someone to speak to," she said with a smile, gesturing to the bed or the little brown chair by the desk.
She hummed a little tune to herself as she stored away her clothes in the dresser, tops in one drawer, pants and skirts in an other, socks in an other and undewear at the bottom. She took out her small silver heart shaped photo frame with a picture of her mother inside and put it on the small table next to her bed, which had a lamp on it. She then sorted out the rest of her belongings on the desk, the top of the bookshelf and everywhere else as she went.
She thought it looked much more homely now. She then took out her three favourite posters from the bottom on the case and tacked them up on the wall, one was of a little fuzzy thing dancing to music, huge headphones over his head, an other was a ballet dancer on her points, hands up above her head. And an other was a print from her favourite artist, it was weird with all these melting clocks and watches. She was pleased that she got it cheap on a market stall.
She then took the last item from her suitcase, a small floppy teddy that she had since she was born, and placed him on her bed.
She smiled. Stored the suitcase under her bed and then sat down on it and turned back to Grant and Cooper.
"So," She said with a smile. "What is there to do around here? Is there somewhere i am supposed to go? To regester myself here at the orhanage?"

The two boys didnt waist any time to accept the invitation. Cooper plopped down on the bed happily, seeming to marvel at the lovely squeak the mattress made every time he moved. Grant took the little chair. He would have sat down on the bed but his friend was really starting to get to him. He wasnt sure that he could stop himself from throtteling him if he got within a few feet of him. So he took the desk chair. Quietly he sat down and leaned back into the wooden backrest. He blushed a little as he realized that he was waring nothing but a thin red tunic with no underwear to speak of. Quickly crossing his legs, he stretched the red fabric over his legs best he could in the sake of modesty.
"No...I dont think so that is..." Cooper said, "But i wouldnt know. Ive been here for as long as i can remember. I dont really know what happens when you come i guess"
