What would you do when you are home alone in the middle of the night and something starts to knock on your window and by it's shadow it looks like a man in long black jacket :shock:

Well, it could be your dad, or some friend of yours trying to get in after losing their keys or having some traumatic experience. (Family kicked them out because their gay...) I would flash a light on them first, then if I knew them well, I'd let them in. If it was an acquaintance, then I'd tell them I'm too tired ad to go home. If it was a stranger that's not trying to advertise something, I'd tell him 'no thank you.' and shut and lock the door on their face.

Sounds way better than my reaction :P

A combination of the two above answers. Have a weapon ready in case whoever it is won't go quietly and also dial the cops' number into my phone and be ready to hit the button to call them (because unless it's a friend who's REALLY screwed up, a friend would probably be aware of the doorbell...), and go and shine a light on the person. If it does turn out to be a friend...let him/her in, of course, find out what s/he's doing there.

If it's a stranger, tell him/her to kindly GTFO - if s/he doesn't, call the cops, shut and lock the door, and guard the windows with the baseball bat. If s/he tries to come in by breaking the window - hey, I have a way to defend myself. >;D

I would do the stupid thing. I would prolly go grab a blunt object, in which to beat with if needed, And then go open the door. I love hooded and or cloaked dark figures. And unfountunatly, i would talk to him

We used to have a big willow tree in my front yard that would always knock against our bay living room window. When I'm home alone, I have all the lights on, and I'm usually watching a movie, so anyone I know, knows to call me first. I always have my cell and the portable phone with me, as well as some kind of weapon, (bat, kitchen knife... now me and my brother collect swords and katana's, so I have one of those with me.) So if I saw a shadow, and had no phone call, and the shadow was to big to be a branch, I'd dial, and be ready to hit call until I was sure what was going on.

Ehh.. I bet I would totally spazz out grab a knife in my hand have the phone in my hand with 911 on speed dial, and turn on ALL the lights in the house and start saying things like "Yeah Mom! One minute just let me finish watching this show!" I'm a wuss when it comes to things like this..just give me a blanket and a bed to hide under.. and I'll do fine!

I was in colorguard in high school, and I still have my old flag...
So, I'd probably go all ninja on them and start beating them with a butterfly swoop smackdown!!! HOOAH!

I have a boyfriend who wears a long black jacket, but I'd know before he came over because he always calls first! So, I guess my reaction would be to make sure the doors are locked and pretend nobody is home. If he tried to get in I'd crawl out of a window on the opposite side of the house and head for the hills!

=3 I'd rather not die... but now that you mention it the window open could just let the intruder walk out with anything. O_O; But I really would be more concerned about my saftey (as well as others if they were in the house).

Now, if I had to stay in the house for any reason, I'd grab something to konk the intruder with it if he came near my hiding spot. :3 Which would probably be upstairs behind huge storage boxes and behind a giant rack of clothing.

I would go get my parental units. Pref my step-mom since she is a 5 time black belt even for being 5'3'' :3 She kicks ass.

oo...i guess I'd try to go see who it is...if its someone i dont recognize, I'd hide or run to my neighbor's house, I'm a fast runner...i think....but the question is, am i fast enough for the mysterious trench coat man? hmmmm*rubs chin thinking i have a beard* Or maybe id throw dead moths at it :D Everyone is scared of dead moths!!!! Right?...
