Has anyone here seen or read Gantz? I think it's an awesome series. It's about a survival game against aliens. :3 I would say more, but I'd hate to spoil anything. My favorite characters are Kurono and Reika. The anime/manga is rated mature just to warn you. O_O; It's not for the squeamish.

I was interested in watching it a while back, but then a friend told me that the first episodes just didn't grab him enough to have him keep watching.
So I put it off and started watching something else, but I can't remember what it was. XD

I watched till the end it was very good I would suggest it to people but some episodes were kinda perverted but all in all its good, especially the ending.

When I first saw Gantz... I had to keep watching! I always wondered "How is Kurono going to get out of this one?!"

Tounin, the first story arc was not as good as later on in the series. :P Your friend might have missed out on something good.

sylph prince, I'm glad someone else here has seen Gantz till the end!! And I agree, it was kind of... err... perverted. But the storyline had me going! And the manga goes even further than the anime!! It gets even better!!

ya im gald too the storyine was also good something diffrent than usual and about the manga im currently searching for an online version cuz the one in onemanga got suspended for copyright reasons.

Hehe. Well, he's an odd one when it comes to anime. If it doesn't pull him in, in the first five minutes of the first episode, he becomes disinterested. XD
Plus, I was more into Ergo Proxy at the moment.
Yah, that was the show that I watched instead of Gantz.
I would still like to see Gantz though.

I've found out the first 5 minutes is either something awesome... (a lot of the time showing the future or a flashback for some reason...) or... something boring like the get to know the character thing or generic going to school. xP Gantz I think began with a selfish guy wandering around after school... and the selfishness was a turn off. But, as all characters do (expecially heroes) they grow well liked. When I first watched Gantz... I honestly didn't know what to think. When the first episode ended I wondered what happened next of course... but not that much later I was sucked in.

Haha.

I at least watch the first DVD... some series start slow and get better... and I don't want to miss them just because they start slow.

I know this is from two years ago, but I just watched the first three episodes this past weekend.
OMG is it weird.
First episode was disgusting, but it did get better.
Then again, I've only seen 3 episodes... so it could go downhill again.
