Indeed. It's like a lot of things. Take the Harry Potter books for instance. You know Harry was brought up in what was essentially an abusive household and it gets mentioned, but not exactly explored. He comes off as sort of a normal boy. But can you imagine being shunned by your family, living like a slave in a tiny cupboard under the stairs for eight years! Do you really think you're going to come out normal and fairly well adjusted? I don't think so! But it's just a book, and that's reading a lot into it, just like fishing is a game and even though we know Yumeh eats the fishies, we shouldn't imagine it really.

Actually, it reminds me of some stupid wankiness on Gaia over one of the mini comics where Farmer Bill serves his wife a steak and people were all "ZOMG! That's animal cruelty!!!!!" And it's like...really? It's just a stupid comic. Get over it.
