This isn't my first time RPing. However I RPed in real life, not on the computer. I very much enjoy this type of Rping, but I do prefer actual contact with people. I usually run the games but I enjoy playing them as wel. Here are some of the games that I have tried:
Vampire: The Masquerade
Hunter: The Reckoning
Werewolf: The Apocalypse
Dungeons and Dragons (I prefer 2nd edition thank you very much)
Heroes
Ice

I have just ordered another book to come in and it should be here soon. It's called Demon: The Fallen.

As for myself, i am 18 years old and have been RPing since I was ten years old. I have done this type of RPing once before on a Harry Potter site (Yes, I do enjoy that kind of thing) and take RPing very seriously. My favorite kind of characters are not cookie cutter, and never have been. I enjoy playing characters that walk the thin line between good and evil, that have odd personality quirks and that are sometimes insane. i like playing characters that are going through big changes and having issues along with playing characters that others wouldn't usually try. For instance, I do not mind playing an ugly character, or one that does not get along with others.

No, this doesn't mean that I like characters that grind against the grain and try to ruin games or get all the attention, I just like challenges. Anyone can play someone that is totally normal but gets tossed into a weird situation, but what about someone who caused that situation or that had previous knowledge of it. Anyone can play someone that is "Good" or "evil" but what about the good guy that has evil tendencies? What aboput the villain that has a good reason for being bad? What about the one that does good things for bad reasons? Complicated characters are my specialty.

I do not mean to talk myself up so much in this, and I hope I haven't turned anyone off to me Rping with them. But please, if you are interested in me playing in your game send me a message and I'll check it out!

Vut yeah, it's lovely to see not only a serious role player but a literate one too.
If your going to make an RP here please let me know, I doubt you'll need any help with it but that doesn't mean you don't need characters right?
My characters are usually- well, not so much pointless as they are anti-sues.
Even when my characters have powers like Telepathy they can't use it or don't understand (like a French character I have can't speak English but has telepathy, so she can't understand what your thinking anyway).

I used to like Harry Potter before J.K killed off Sirius Black and made Harry an emo whiny angst bucket. No offence if you like that sort of thing. Table tops are fun, I've only done one for Warhammer 40, 000 myself, and that was as a normal human sniper with no special skills or abilities.

I normally do support roles though so I don't know if that'd match with your character that are loners or antisocial and what not.

Haha, no this wasn't really meant for anything, just a statement about what I am doing here. And that I love to RP. Is there a palce to post this kind of thing so that other RPers will ask me to join their games?

And my characters are rarely ever anti-social loners :) I am a very social person and that shows through in my characters. For instance, I have a character that I am playing now in an RP forum and he is a very kind, polite young man. He's a student at Stanford University and also works as the librarian. He is very likeable but he has a dark secret. He enjoys torturing people. Creepy much? It's a challenge to get into the right mind-set for a character like that and that's why7 i chose him. It's a challenge. now no worries, other than being polite and kind I am nothing like him haha :)

Let me open this by saying I love you already because Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines was an AWESOME game. Never played the tabletop RPG though. Heard of it, just never tried it.

*Pounce* I am ashamed that I only just now found your introduction thread. But yes, maybe I didn't really explain about Mene. You can rp on here, but that's not the main focus of the site. Have you ever been on Gaia? It's kind of like that, you can post about all kinds of things here. Roleplaying is just one section. But anyways, it's good to see you're branching out from the DreamWorld thread. I bet you can find a lot of good rpers to make friends with on here. Kierys just to explained to me (I am at her place) that mostly girls play this. And apparently gay guys too. Sweet. Well, I've never actually had a real friend online so anyone wanna be my first online friend? I hate to say this but please be an RPer, cuz .. . that's kinda a big part of my life.

My parents met through Dungeons and Dragons (Surprisingly neither are/were ugly. My father was a marine and is still handsome, and my mom was a hot lil thing and is now pretty in a slightly dike-y way) and I have been gaming since I was 10. So yeah, however I'm pretty cool with just about anything!

While that is really nice, Laure, introductions are best made in an introduction thread belonging to yourself, not other people. This isn't a chat thread, this is just for Tyko to introduce himself to the people on this site and get some off the bat questions answered.

Speaking of which, Tyko, do you have any particular questions, like site navigation or anything? The mods are helpful and I'm sure there are more than a few faqs lying around.
