This movie looks really good. ALTHOUGH if you read the book series, the movie is off on the characters. I want t ogo see the movie and cant wait till it comes out n theaters, only my favorite character, Larten Crepsley (also known as Creepy Crepsley) is done all wrong.
He is a more serious guy. and the have a mohwak no a full head of hair, choosing John Reilly for the part was way off. John Reilly is better off in comedy movies, he doesnt have the serious face at all. And the scars on his face, In the book Crepsely only have one scar and its from his forehead to his chin. The threee scars look likes he got scratched from a cat.
The issue with chaning the movie from the way it is written i nthe book really annoys me. If you love/like the book why change is? The same issue happened in Twilight. EVERYONE says they love that book, but the characters are ait off and the plot happens too quickly. Im afraid that this will happen t othe Cirque Du Freak. the Book is amazing and funny, changing ANY thing is ruining it. But this is only my opinion.
i Do think they did a nice job with Evra the snake boy. In the trailor you see him, the boy with green skin. From the trailor i tihnk he looks amazing. Darrn looks about right as well.
Thats about all i have to say, id like comments on how other think of the characters and such, if yo uhave read the book, how do you think they did on te chaacters based on the trailor?
you can look at the trailors here : http://www.imdb.com/video/imdb/vi3795386905/

Ew, what did they do to Steve? He always looked so badass in my mind, but Josh Hutcherson looks like such a pushover.
I think I'll need to re-read these...

As a fan of the books... I am not impressed. At all. The characters are pretty much "meh". I think they should have gotten a better Crepsley but Darren and Steve look ok. Evra is about as good as they could get him. The effects look AWESOME though!
Ad WHY did they make it look like Darren approached Crepsely to be a vampire? That's not how it happened... kinda.
Oh well, Mr. Shan himself said it is an adaptation and not meant to actually be the book on screen and that he is ok with it, so I'll go see it. Despite my gripes.
It looks funnier than the books though, especially this part of the trailer I saw:
Quote:
Crepsley: Fill in that hole.
Darren: I can't do that, my legs are still numb.
Crepsley: Can you feel this? *hits Darren's leg with shovel*
Darren: OW!

All I can say to that is: LOL.

Although I would rather see the movie being made to fit the book, the adaptation doesn't look all that bad, and I think that if Darren has given it his seal of approval then it should be pretty good.... I've learned not to expect all movies to be just like the books, and this one actually looks pretty interesting, it has some issues with casting and visualizations but other than the obvious flaws I think the movie could be extremely intriguing, the trailer has a lot of great elements and I'm looking forward to seeing the full length movie.

In the trailor my fave part was in the cemetery when Mr. Crepsley told him to fill in the hole as well. i laughd, i have to admit. i believe the movie will be funnier then the book, which isnt really bad at all unless you EXPECT the movie to be exactly like the book, which just aobut never happens =\. I belive many many many more ampire movies will be coming out, cant wait haha. Steve does look abit wierd, and darren does as well. im more upset about crepsley though.. its my major disappointment.

The trailer didn't look too bad. From what I recall, I used to imagine Crepsely as bald.

I might want to see this movie, but I'm not sure yet. I recall reading a few of the books years ago, and they weren't half bad.

i am so happy this movie finnally came out! i been waiting 5 years since it was rumorwed to come out. larten crepsley is deffinitally my favorite in the book series wich is why book 9 is the saddest book T.T. the movie looks good but ofcourse the biggest flaw is what they did with creepy crepsley. in the third book it says he has a crop of hair. not a full head curly fro like hair. and creepy crepsley speaks every word out so he doesnt sat "can't" "wont" "isnt" he says "do no" "cant not" "is not". but you can never expect the books to be like the movies. my faorite part of the trailer is with mr tall wen he asks darren and seve "are you 21?....say yes" and they say yes "welcom to the cirque" x] and of course with larten and darren. when he tells darrent to fill the hole. h im so excited i cant wait!!!

Ah, I love the Cirque Du Freak series. [Notice my name, lol.] :insane:
I've been waiting for the movie to come out since awhile before they started filming.
I can't wait for this October!
I like their choices for the cast, Even having John C. Reilly as Mr. Crepsley.
The only thing I would be disappointed with is this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jHY-gBPT2cM
Anyways, I think the movie will be great and I can't wait to see it.

I was sitting at the computer today and I heard the TV in the living room. The only thing I caught was "Darren" and "Vampires Assistant." I walked into the other room and had my dad flip back to the commerical for a Cirque Du Freak film. Its due to come out October 23.
Is anyone else excited for this film?

he's a little kid, and grows up with the vampire over many, many years.
and i don't ever remember a monkey girl...

I'm not sure how I feel about this. Sadly I feel like they're jumping on the vampire bandwagon :( Can ALWAYS hope that it's good though. There are some great movies that were translated from books but its few and far between. So.. naturally I'm worried they've completely destroyed it. We'll see.

I'm thinking that I'll be disappointed with this movie. :( I read all of the books and I absolutely loved them, but the comercials and previews are already making me feel like it's going to be too different. I don't feel as if this movie is just following the sudden vampire fad because I actually heard about it being in production a couple years ago. I was excited about it then, not so much anymore. I might go and see it, and it might actually be really good, but I'm not raising my expectations too high for it.
Yeah, there was no monkey girl in the books. I'm curious as to who she is in the movie.

I saw the trailers and thought it looked really interesting. I had no idea it was originally a book series! I want to see the movie, but I always prefer to read the books first so that the movie doesn't influence how I see or hear the characters.

I myself have not read the books, but I saw the trailer last night, and it looked like it would be a good movie. How it will be as an adaptation, though, I have no clue. My sister said she's read it, but I don't know if she actually owns the books... Have to look into that.

The trailers look really cool and though I hate vampire movies, and I really HATE vampires, I think I might shell out a few bucks to see this. Yay to special effects!
