I honestly think a better idea is to make the vampire ugly but can make itself appear attractive to humans. Kinda like a chameleon. Best of both worlds in a sense. XD

I've always pictured vampires' 'true form' to be something that completely does not look human at all. More like an alienish-metallic-looking-insect things. But they can disguise themselves as human if they want to. :P

Yeah, I've been watching Buffy the Vampire slayer. And so far I like their depiction of vampires. Although I get a little bit confused with the whole Angel issue. I have no idea what he eats/drinks.

I've never watched the Buffy series before, it just clashed with me at first look so I never went any deeper than that D:

@Wifey - Making them attractive so as to lure in prey is an interesting theory, but they're hunters, so they shouldn't really need to lure them in. I mean if they have super speed and super strength and powers of hypnosis and such, they should be able to catch things just fine no matter how hideous they are.

@Wifey - True, but they're hard to kill. Plus, the old vampires like Dracula could hypnotize people right? So what difference does it make? If you get them under your spell they'll do whatever the hell you want them to. No need for luring them in, unless you want to be pretty so they look you in the eyes or something. *Shrugs*

Because humans want themselves to be preyed upon by pretty stuffs, so that's why the vampires got 'evolved' >.>;

@Fading - At times I have thought that vampires are pretty cool, but I really don't get the mystique and the absolute hype of it all. And we're going through yet another "vampires are awesome!!!" phase. There was one when Anne Rice was in full swing with her Vampire Novels and the movie with Brad Pitt and Tom Cruise came out. It should be noted that Anne Rice is full on crazy. D:

And now we have freaking Twilight and Vampire Diaries and True Blood and vampires out the butt really. They're everywhere! Oh yeah, I saw a trailer on Gaia for the Vampire's Assistant. More vampires. Oh boy =P

Vampires are cool and I like them, but with all this hype it's really getting on my nerves a bit...especially with the people naming Edward their bitch and all that creepy stuff...or making them extremely sexy and perfect-like, with a touch of emo-ness and self-pity....urgh. Not my kind of vampire.

I never finished that movie. Seemed boring for me.

vampires are usually blood thirsty demons. They don't really think much about humans except the food part.

@Wifey - It can be interesting, but I don't get a girl hard-on for all things supernatural like some people. And speaking of supernatural, I do not like the show Supernatural. So many people have gone out of their minds for that show and all the episodes I watched were so damn dull. Ugh.

But people like to turn vampires into emo woobies who cry about their lost humanity and shit. I think Buffy had the right idea with vampires being soulless. Of course, then they went and gave Angel a soul, but whatever. I never really followed the show much.

Vampires can be interesting. I read a vampire novel by Christopher Golden that really caught my imagination. I do not like hype at all though. I hate when things get all hyped up. I just hate hype. Don't like Twilight and its hype. Don't like Supernatural and its hype.

Yeah, I still like vampires and other supernatural things but I look for the stuff that's not well known.

While I don't think vampires are soulless, they definitely are NOT humans and should NOT have human qualities or ethics melted into their own. They should treat us like cattle, or at most, a pet. Just like how we would treat our livestock and pets. Because we are not of the same species. That's something a lot of humans fail to see. >__>

Yeah. I watched Supernatural because I was hearing the hype. And as much as I hate it, sometimes I do check to see if it lives up to the hype. Supernatural didn't. I didn't like the "supernaturalness" of it. I didn't really care about the brothers, which you kind of have to do since they're the main characters. i know they have a lot of fangirls for them. Hell, I know a lot of fangirls like to slash them. I just don't see it. There are far better series I'd rather spend my time on than that mediocre thing.

Too each their own. Lots of people like to reinvent the wheel, or in this case, the vampire. As long as they do some research, that's fine. But a certain Twilight author is known to have not done any research on vampires before she wrote her book, hence the sparkling thing. That was her reason they don't go out in the sun :headdesk:
