Not really. I only text when I need to or if I absolutely don't want to get into a long winded conversation with the person I'm talking to.

I have turned off texting on my phone. I never use it and I would get random texts from people that I don't know (the text version of drunk dialing) and then have to pay 15 cents a text for it.
When I got a political campaign ad via text I finally called Verizon and told them to shut it down.

back in the day, i NEVER texted, but now i'm a texting fiend. it has just become the best form of communication now. i mean, if i call someone and they don't answer we end up playing phone tag forever. but if i text, they can answer at their earliest convenience and things actually get done. ah, the wonder of technology!

I text a lot.
I used to abhor the idea a lot but it's become such a part of routine that even if I still continue to find it such a hassle, I really have no choice. Between calling and texting, the latter is cheaper and more reasonable. I don't have a big budget for my prepaid and the signal from where I'm at is horrible coupled by the fact my phone is a 2003 model, I don't have much signal. Texting from my room is often an exercise of dexterity as I reach for the heavens at times just so I can get a signal. Thank god, I don't have to climb up the roof.
But it can be that bad.
If made to choose, I wouldn't SMS. My phone's far too painful to SMS with and the signal is horrible. I would prefer opening up my PC and just chatting with people.
SMS/Cellphone culture has made everyone seem available 24/7 with no respect to privacy and space which I find very annoying and unreasonable.
I haven't experienced being disturbed and what not in my sleep or in my moments of me time and I hope I don't ever get disturbed!

I have a cell phone... but I don't text. I hate texting. My dad offered to get me a texting plan, since without it texts received and sent are 25 cents each. >O>
But it takes so long. D:< People text just to say "wuts up" and stupid shit like that. No real use for it.
Doesn't help that I also hate talking to people, period. 8D Even on the phone.
So only time I willingly talk to people is on Facebook. :p

I'd much rather talk on the phone than text, which is saying something because I rather dislike phones.

Depends who I'm wanting to talk to and if they reply. But yeah, I get 250 free texts a month and I'm almost always over my limit. Not that that's a good thing.

Yes :gonk:
But mostly they come from me having multiple conversions with my friends on MSN with my phone. Things just like 'lol' will count as one text.

I don't text.
I don't have a cellphone.
Even if I did, I wouldn't.
I talk to my friends VIA computer.
I don't like texting AT ALL.
I feel when talking to someone whose texting, as if the conversation is boring them, as if they'd rather be doing something else. -.-
Its rude in my opinion.
If you make plans to spend time with someone, your attention be with them, and having fun... NOT what are your other friends are doing.

I dislike talking on the phone, and I don't communicate much with people who aren't with me, unless it's necessary--so texting is perfect. I can send a message here or there without anyone having to stop what they're doing, and there are records so I don't forget what anyone's said.

I have a cell phone, but I rarely text. I find it difficult to text while driving, so I just call the person up if it's important enough. I get a lot of spam text messages from friends. I have to pay for each letter when I text, so I really discourage people to text me. I think it's just a useless piece of technology because the people that use it most are students in school. It's like passing notes to one another in class, but a quick way. Plus, why you need to text someone that you'll see after class anyway? I'unno. It just never appealed to me.

No. I absolutely hate texting. I would much rather "talk" with my friends through some messager program on the computer. Or perhaps use the phone to talk with them (using my voice). Or *gasp* ... perhaps even talk with them in person!! (oh no!)
Seriously, I don't like texting and avoid it unless it's just impossible.

I text too much e.e, I have a few friends that like to text me nearly every day. Yesterday was one of my "busier" texting days. I think that I sent about 150 texts or something yesterday. Once I sent just about 100 in a few hours, talking to just ONE friend.
But generally, I think that I send about 50 or so messages a day. It just depends on if my friends are busy or something.

I have a cellphone, but I don't use it much.
I hate texting. I hate having conversations in 160 characters or less. I'd rather talk on the phone. I can't convey my emotion or tone with text messaging.
If I'm going to type, I'd much rather IM.
I don't get the whole fascination with texting, really.
My text addict friends have the stupidest "conversations" (if you can even call them that).
it's like;
person 1: hey wassup
person 2: watching tv lol
perosn 1: watcha watchin
person 2: spongebob
person 1: i luv spongebob
person 2: me 2
UIFHSUFHGFS. I just... teruki + texting do not mix.
And you know what's worse? When you're having a conversation with a person, like ACTUALLY TALKING, and they get a text and ignore you in favor of responding to their inane text convos asap. :/
I'm bitter, I know xD

I have a cell, but not for the fashion thing. Mainly because my parents got tried of trying to hunt me down when I wasn't at work.
But I do text more then some but not near as much as others. I generally only reply to texts, or I'll send one when I know someone is busy and I need to tell them something before I forget. Mainly the boyfriend while he is at work, since I can't call without being harassed by him and his manager.

I text quite a bit but not every day. Before this year I never did. I probably send about 10 texts per week?
I think the main reason is because I'm living in a city for college that only one of my old friends live near and he still lives about a half hour away. Everyone else is long distance and since my cell phone is the only phone I have (renting a bedroom in a house, so unless I want to pay extra I can't use the landline). It's nice still being able to stay in touch with my old best friends since we're usually not on the computer at the same times.
I annoy my friends at times though since when I send texts, I usually I send long texts. Paragraphs, proper spelling and all that fun stuff. My phone doesn't split up the messages, just separates them with something like (1/3) where most of my friend's don't.

I own a cell phone but I don't text. It just seems like a way to build up a large cellphone bill.
When I'm not talking to them verbally I tend to contact them via facebook, email or usually by messenger.
I know people who text all the time and if it works for them that's good for them. What I don't like is those people who text all the time. They walk and text and don't pay attention to whats going on around them, not caring that they walk into other people. Also people who text in class (I'm in university) if you and the people around you are paying larges amount of money to go to school you would think that you would listen or at least not distract your classmates.
