I know this message is long but if you're serious read it all. I wouldn't rant your ears off if it wasn't important stuff.
Unless you've been in any of my past roleplays on other sites you probably have no clue what Pokemon Racers are.
For starters this roleplay is set in the Kanto region, but your person can be from anywhere and other then first generation pokemon are allowed but discouraged in large quantities. One, maybe two in a team is acceptable. Maybe more if it's from the second generation pokemon but above that I'd prefer very few.
My inspiration for this was that in the show and one of the movies(I think just one) you see people racing on or with pokemon. The addition of contests and how they're run(in the show particularly) really influenced this..
Basically Races are like a mix of contests and battles as far as where and when they are. Races are held in certain towns or areas on tracks or set courses and each place holds a race either twice a year or once for each season of the year. The rules vary from race to race as well as the terrain. Some are specialty tracks for one element and others are a mix. Basically, there are lots of official races and you have to place in 8 races. You get a specialized pin from each race to place in in either bronze, silver, or gold. Once you have 8 pins(at least 2 of which need to be gold) you get to go to the Grand Race which is held once a year.
You are allowed a team of 6 pokemon. Some races you hook your pokemon to some kind of craft or something and they pull you, but pretty much all of the races you ride on your pokemon. A few other specialty rules are, switching or no switching pokemon during race, attacking or no attacking, some ban flying pokemon.
To become a certified racer you have to take an oath to a strict code of conduct.
1. Any abused, neglected, wounded, or ill pokemon may race and may be removed from you depending on severity or condition and the steps you are taking to take care of said condition.
2. Any person or pokemon that is harmed or killed during a race can not hold the one who did it responsible under normal circumstances. If the attack was overly violent or done out of spite or other such reasons the racer may be removed from the race, banned from that track, or not be allowed to race anywhere.
3. You must show up to the race early to sign in. Once all the slots are full no one else may enter. If you try to bribe someone to get their slot or sign in for you, you won't be allowed to race on that course until the followed years. Repeat offenders will be banned from the course.
Pins never expire and you can not use two from the same race to get into the Grand Race. If you place first in a race you can not race on that track again until next year. No racer is allowed to , if you have read all of this so far in your first post put some kind of text based face at the beginning of it if you don't I'll make you go back and read this before you can join, practice on the course prior to the start of the race. Each track holds its races st different times to the participants have time to get to the next course so there is basically always a race going on somewhere.
Official Pokemon Racing is only for those who are very serious or are seeking danger and excitement. It's an extremely danger sport and racers are at risk of getting hit by pokemon attacks. Definitely not for the light of heart, but that doesn't mean it isn't fun. Some say the adrenaline rush you get from a race is absolutely addictive, and that's often leads to a racers doom.
[Note: Racers can also battle and be trainers while they are racers. They can also race like a trainer would battle. Or they can be coordinators too. You don't have to just be a racer.]
As far as characters descriptions go it's up to you for the most part. But at the minimum we need to know this.
Username:
Characters Name:
Age:
Team:
Home town or region:[you can be as vague as you'd like on this one]
Appearance:
Clothing: [most racers have protective gear they wear while racing but there is no required gear though eye protection is pretty much necessary. Pokemon can wear eye wear too or small accessories no footwear or anything that might give them an unfair advantage, you don't have to put the pokemons gear in your description if you don't want to.]
Note that putting your characters personality is completely optional. I don't think it's necessary, we can observe your character and figure it out just fine.
Now that that's all out of the way a few rules! Oh joy!
1. Followed Menewsha rules and basic roleplaying rules.
2. If I correct you, warn you of something, or kick you out. Listen. It's just easier that way. I'm very lenient and can work things out with you if you have any ideas. I'll probably make some kind of OOC board to discuss stuff.
3. Feel free to adlib stuff! Don't make me lead, I provide the basic idea you can come up with some material. Try not to get too radical on us though.(unless you get it ok'd of course. ;3)
4. PG-13 please
5. No * or - or anything like that for actions while not in OOC.
6. I AM STRICT ON THOSE WHO GODMODE! *hiss*
7. PM me character descriptions, I'll make a post to put those up all together. ^^ If you have a pic please break the link(make sure you tell me how you broke it) so I can copy paste everything right in here. Once I get your description up feel free to start. Put the text based smiley at the start of this PM.
8. If you aren't active for awhile and we're stuck waiting we will wait awhile then move on. But that doesn't mean you can't jump back in.
9. I'm sorry about all the rules!!! I'm not strict, really I'm not. Just making things nice and clear for you.
10. I have a huge pet peeve with those little picture emote things. Please, only text ones. If you put an image one I'll have to bash it with my smiley bashing chair.
11. This is a semi-lit+ rp avoid one or two liners and be descriptive. I understand writers block and such but try to scrounge up at least a paragraph. I personally am bad at formatting
That's it! If you made it all the way down here you must be serious about this. Congrats! Sorry about being so long winded on you but the more I explain right off the bat the smoother things go and the easier it is on both of us.
Have fun!!!
