It was a big day in the little town of just outside of the large city that held the castle. IT was also the place where the Lord lived. Duke Gaston was coming to the town today and that wasn't all, he was bringing with him new equipment for his Lords to give to the peasents working his lands. It was among the hustle and bustle to make sure everyone was working and the Lord and Lady looked proper to receive their guest. It was far from every day that they had someone from the royal court at their fields.

The day came, the day she seemed to be waiting for. No not happily. She dreaded royal people coming, she loathed them and envied their lives. Lillyanna{Lilly} was a poor peasant, a meek and humble servent to everyone above her. Today she would wear her sunday attire. An emerald green cotton floor length skirt with frayed hem and an old white button down blouse. Her strawberry blonde hair was braided down her back. Standing tall Lilly walked out of her families tiny house to go to work for the Lords and Ladies just as the sun began to rise.

Duke Gaston was to spend the entire day at this place, it was dirty he knew that much but it also grew much food and some of the servents here made arrows. When his cairrage arrived the Lord quickly made his way over greeting the Duke. Gaston stepped out and let his feet touch the ground. "Um...hmm..." He muttered. "Hello my good lord how are things looking up this morning?" He asked.

"very well sir. Please come in." He motioned to his house.

"No, no I want to look over the land first see how things are before the workers get into power mode. I should of come earlier but there was a pot hole that nearly broke my mare's leg." He motioned to a white and gray speckled horse. "We had to let her rest for an hour or so. This reminds me." He motioned and the cariage driver went around to the barns. "Please show me around good man." He stated. The duke was a handsome man forced to take his father's social position after his unexpected death at a young age. He was a handsome young man and very ambitious however he could be very annoying and persistent.

Lilly got to the Lord's house just after the Duke had. Not paying any attention untill it was to late, Her bright green eyes were full of shock as she bowed down quickly to the Duke. "I am sorry I interupted sir." She said quietly not looking up at him. Slowly Lilly turned and bowed to the Lord. "Sir, sorry I'm late" Keeping her head bowed she spoke softly. "Is there anything I can do for you, sir?"

The duke looked at the girl with a bit of interest. He was a duke after all he didn't follow the normal rules. "No appology needed." He stated simply watching the young woman. The lord picked up on this
"Yes will you lead us around the fields the Duke would like to see them. After that you can prepare our guests room." He said hurrying her along towards the fields. The Duke nodded and walked behind the peasant girl. Now he was sure this would be an interesting visit. He was visiting the lands around here too but seeing he knew this lord the best he was to stay here. He would bee here for a weeks time.

"Yes Sir." Lilly said walking out to the fields glancing back every so often to make sure she didn't walk to fast. Lilly was thinking about how amazing the Dukes life must be. She wanted to ask him so many questions; Where had he visited? Whom had he met? What did he do all day? Every question created so many more questions. Finally they arrived at the fields. "Here we are."

The Duke nodded. "Thank you, please tend to your other duties I'm sure the Lord can explain things to me. And please have my room ready with in the hour." He said softly before walking off into the fields getting things explained shakily by the lord.

((Sorry I'm short.) Got to go to bed)

"Yes Sir." She whispered watching the Duke walk away. Silently she thought about how cute he was. As Lilly walked back she ran into her older brother. "Why are you out here?" He asked hugging her. "The Duke is here, I have to go." Lilly replied pushing her brother toward the fields and running back to the Lords house. She began to clean the rather large room and dropped the pile of white sheets on the bed finishing up her cleaning.

The duke was lead through the fields and was explained things by the peasants the lord called over. He spent the better part of the morning there before returning back to the Lords house. Walking in he was greeted by the lady before lead up to his room. Not meaning to walk in on Lilyanne and her cleaning. He didn't let the Lady scold her and just walked in. "Almost finished?" he asked looking her over.

Lilly looked up from her work suprised again. "Yes Sir. I'm just finishing up making your bed." She said looking down and continued pulling the sheets on the bed. Lilly was a little nurvous having someone other than the Lord in the room as she cleaned. It wasn't normal for anyone else to be visiting. As she finished up the bed and fluffed the pillows she stepped infront of the duke bowing her head. "Is there anything else I can get for you sir?" She asked careful not to look him in the eye.

The Duke watched her and smiled some. "No but..." He ran a careful hand down her cheek and neck. "Should you need company do let me know." He said with a grin. "I'm only pulling your chain m'dear. Your free to go about your way unless there is something you'd like from me." He said walking over and sitting in a chair. "Stay close though I may need you for something again soon." He said with a childish grin before pulling out a log book so he could write down things.

Lilly froze for a second and turned to look at him for less than a moment before turning and moving to the door. "I will be somewhere in the house. Just call if you need me...Oh and Sir, I'm pleased to be in your preasence." Lilly wasn't sure what to think of him but walked out the door and took her broom begining to sweep the hallway. Her mind wandered and her thoughts were jumbled up. Was she scared of the Duke, or was she amazed? It was to hard to tell. An odd feeling of aww...or astonishment passed over her every time he spoke to her.

The duke listened to what she had to say and smiled softly. "I'm sure you are." He whispered to himself. Doing work he waited for lunch by which time he was sure he'd be hungry. He would also ask if this female peasant could wait on him for the time being. Knowing very well she wasn't a slave but was curious as to what he could achieve with such fine quality body as she had none the less.

{O.O....he scares me XD...oh and she is kinda mostly a slave. She doesn't get paid much and mostly has to do whatever she is told. Just so you know.}

Lilly finished sweeping and walked to the kitchen where lunch was being prepaired. It smelled wonderful. "Lillyanna! Pour the drinks and get out the napkins!" The cook shouted. Lilly hurried off and grabbed cups and water along with a stack of napkins. On the table was a wooden try. Placing the glasses down on it she poured the water from the pitcher and into the cups placing the napkins in the center so the try would stay balanced when she picked it up. The other woman, mostly slaves or young servents like herself were also placing food on the trays ready to serve lunch whenever the Lord commanded.

((Ah don't worry he's nice.))

The duke came down for lunch a little while latter which is when the lord gave word for them to start serving it. "I have never had a room so clean in my life." He stated to the lord as they walked into the dinning hall of the house. "I may just have that young lady teach my servants to clean." he joked lightly sitting at the table.

Lilly picked up her tray and began placing the water on the table. She bowed her head at the lord putting his glass on the table and did the same for the Duke. The rest of the people eating weren't as important so she just placed the drinks infront of them not looking at them. After she finished the food had began to be served and she passed around the napkins before going into the kitchen to get the lord and duke's food which had been saved for last. Careful not to drop the tray she balanced it on one hand and walked out to the table. Just as she got there a napkin had fallen on the floor and she slid tumbling forward causing a plate full of food to land on her and the Duke.

The duke sat in shock as he looked at himself and the girl. The Lord was about to explode when Gaston started laughing. "No, no my good man it is quiet alright." He said calming himself. "I must say the potatoes were very good." He said with a chuckle. Was he upset, yes very much so but he had to keep from loosing his head. The lord begged for forgiveness. "Oh don't worry about it, a good man knows humility. Now lets get this cleaned up and some more food brought to the table." he said standing up and offering the girl a hand up. "A good Duke as well as lord knows how to show kindness to his servants yes?" He asked getting a silent nod. "Good I'm going to change and get the gravy out of my hair." He said simply walking off before he got upset.

"I'm so sorry." Lilly managed to whisper taking his hand to get up. She was so glad he was here. If it had just been the Lord she would have been dead. After he left she looked down and picked up the tray along with the food and napkins. "Sir, I didn't mean to. I swear I wouldn't do anything like that on purpose. There was just a napkin and I slipped. I'm so sorry I won't let it happen again." Lilly rushed out of the room and into the kitchen where the cook stood in the doorway taking her try and pulling her into the back. Her shirt and skirt was ruined and food was all in her hair. "You're so lucky the Duke is so kind." The cook said looking around before finally pulling out an old blue dress of hers and handing it to Lilly. "This should fit you. It was from when I was your age." Holly took it and walked into the bathroom changing and pulling all the food out of her hair and undoing the braid so the strawbery blonde hair fell in neat waves past her sholders.

The lord sat with his head in a hand wondering why he was in such a position. The Duke changed and used a cloth to get everything out of his hair for now. He pulled it back so his long hair sat in a ponytail and made sure he looked presentable again. Walking down with a smile no matter how angry he was he could use appearances to lie. "Alright then let us eat..." He said making sure his chair was clean before sitting again.

Lilly walked out into the dining room wearing the old blue dress with her hair still out of the braid. This time she was holding the try with both hands and watching where she walked. At the Duke and Lords place she force a smiled although having a bad feeling she would get in trouble for this later. "I'm so sorry sir,I really didn’t mean it.” Lilly placed the food in front of the duke and lord.

"Thats quiet alright. Things happen." The Duke said before offering a smile back. He tasted the food and smiled some with a nod. "Very good." he said softly. "Very good." He ate his meal talking to the people at the table on how they could maybe raise better crops and maybe they should get some pigs or cows since meat with very big these days. He continued on like that through the meal.

Lilly sat at the table in the kitchen where the serevents and slaves ate. Her small helping of food sat untouched on her plate. She waited for the dinner to be over worried. 'I'm going to lose this job.' She thought over and over. Annoyed with herself she stood and began pacing back and forth across the kitchen.

The duke nodded to the people at the table and talked to the lord about having Lily work for him for his time there. "Send her up with some warm water please. For my feet I got some terrible blisters." He stated before walking back up to his room. He kicked off his shoes and laid down. The bed was a bit chilly but he sucked it up and relaxed anyway.

Lilly nodded and filled a bucket with warm water and carrying it upstairs. She knocked lightly on the door and stood in the door frame. "Sir? I brought the warm water." Looking at the duke she wasn't sure if he was awake or not. Some part of her wanted him to be asleep, but the other part was dying to know more about him.

Gaston motioned for her to come in. "Come in, beg your pardon I'm not at all being gentleman like but I'm quiet exhausted." He said softly. "Can you set the bucket by my bed please?" He asked an arm resting over his eyes so to block the light that came from his window.
