[Aaaaaaallllrighty :sweat:.....Err..Adaryn, if you haven't read the long winded description of the looking glass, it's in the room on the second floor of the library you are currently in. It's halfway up the room and there are stairs that go up to it. Just jump through? :)]

"Try going through the mirror in the room up there." came the sleepy reply from Doormouse, though his answer didn't really give the confused girl much of an answer to where she was. He feebly pointed to the room whose door was left ajar before resuming his nap, not having bothered to open his eyes. A subtle snore emanated from the young man as he slowly slid from his sitting position into a more horizontal one on the floor.

((Thankies, yeah i noticed how many pages there were and was already tired from reading other threads i was in to catch up lol :sweat:))

Alita looks at Doormouse and rubs her eyes again as she slowly stands up, staggering a bit as she does. She glances to the door and walks slowly and quietly over to it, peeking out through the crack making sure there was no one there. She slips through the door, only opening it enough for her to fit through as she follows the directions Doormouse mentioned, looking around as she does. She stops as she enters into a new space looking around, as she notices a mirror "Maybe that was what he was talking about" she whispers to herself as she shrugs her shoulders, heading towards it. As she stands before it she reaches out letting her hand slip through the mirror and pulls it back "Seems safe enough" she takes a deep breath and closes her eyes tight as she jumps towards the mirror and through it.

((Mmmm. The Queen, really. Haha, well . . . perhaps we'll say that Heartless did something like stick C.C. in a cell. >.>' Vague, but hey. If it gets us moving, I'll be happy. :D))

"She will see you later," Heartless' whisper echoed through her head as the wraith carried Cat into a cell. The barred room was bare and void, but at least she would be dry and warm.
Carefully setting the girl down, the tall shadow slipped back a few feet. "I . . . am sorry." Though his stitched smile stayed in place, and his black eyes didn't show the emotion, his mind-sent voice held regret. "It shouldn't be this way." Shaking his head, the patched shade flit over to the door.

[I'll try to get a hold of April :) Maybe there should be another bad guy to play with White Rabbit and company while the Queen is...somewhere. Somebody like a second in command after the Queen?]

Hat-T was surprised when another girl came through the glass and even more so when the newcomer landed on her. "Oof!" was all she could say as she was knocked back down on the floor. After shakily getting up, she turned to look at the oddly dressed girl. "Hello." she greeted with a sharp toothed grin and extended her hand to Alita. Her words echoed down the empty hallway even though she hadn't raised her voice.

She didn't want to talk to him- she wanted to be cold and silent. But she had to know. "Heartless. Were you there? For... for the first Alice war." She focused her golden eyes on him. "Were you there when the Queen killed my father?"

((Second in command besides Heartless . . . well . . . hmm. I could bring in . . . a bad guy. :evil: Hmm . . . I'll have to think about this. . . .))

Rabbit gasped in surprise as Hat-T was knocked to the ground. They were walking side-by-side, and all of a sudden she was on the floor.
"Alita!" the white-haired man said, helping Hatter pull the girl to her feet. "Y-you followed us here?" His large brown eyes grew. "Here, of all places?" His shoulders drooped a bit. "Oh dear." Shaking his head, he refused to think of what happened . . . last time.


Heartless paused by the door. Hovering for a few moments, the wraith's shadowed fingers rested on the thick frame. "Yes. I was there." He hesitated, wisps of his dark hair flitting about his shoulders. His hissing voice filled her mind once more. "I was there for all of it. Everything that happened, I saw." For a moment, a spark of pain entered his voice. "I saw things that haunt me to this day. I heard things that no one should have heard uttered. I know things that . . . that remain unknown."

((Might I suggest the infamous Jabberwocky?))

Cat turned her face away, her eyes squeezed shut as though they could hold back the tears that were already slipping out. Why had she asked him? Her father's death always made her emotions uncontrollable. It was nearly impossible to controll the sobs slipping out of her mouth, the spasms wracking her body. Even after all these years, it was still fresh in her mind.

"Papa? Papa, what's happening?"

"There's no time to explain." He kisses her forehead. "No matter what, kitten, know that I love you." He undid the golden collar around his neck. "This is yours now, Kitten. It's your job to protect Wonderland."

She stood motionless as her father clipped the collar around her neck. It shrunk until it fit snugly, but comfortably. "But, papa, what about you?"

He smiled, and she saw a single tear drip down his cheek. "I have to go somewhere. You'll be in good hands. Protect Wonderland, and it will protect you. And remember this- always remember this- the true queen lives." The door to the hideaway burst open. "Run, Kitten! Run!"

She had fled, just as he father had ordered. The Queen of Hearts rounded up half of Wonderland that day- her father, the Tweedles, Bill McGill, the Mock Turtle- and her. Alice. The girl that Wonderland had tried so hard to protect- to save. And then...

Her father had been the first for the executioners block. She only knew from eavesdropping on a patrol of card guards- guards that were looking for her, the new Cheshire Cat. The new Trickster Guardian.

((Sorry if that seemed long or sort of god-modey or anything. I have this entire backstory for the Cat in my head, and I wanted to get a little bit of it out there.))

((:cry: No, that was good. *sniffle* That was cool. I like it. Very enjoyable story you have going. :D
And the Jabberwocky will need a bit of tweaking, but I think it's a good place to start. :)))


Heartless watched silently for a few moments, hovering by the door. The cold darkness that wisped off of his tall form sifted about him as he moved closer to C.C..
"He was brave," the wraith said, kneeling down in front of the woman. "I will never forget the proud look on his face when the Queen found that you were still missing. He loved you." Heartless paused then, unsure of what else to say. With a slight sigh, he stood tall once more, and went back to the door. "She will speak to you when she is ready." His sudden shift of moods was startling, though expected. He couldn't pity his victims. Not when the Queen demanded otherwise.

[Ditto :) Where did that word come from anyway? 'Ditto' I mean...]

The rosy eyed woman was surprised to find that this girl was the Alita everybody was talking about. She didn't know Alice so she had nobody to compare the famous stranger to but she looked okay to her. Something seemed amiss in their surroundings. Strangely, there were no guards around in this hallway. Not that Hat-T knew anything about how the castle interior was supposed to be. But she had often heard it would be crawling with cards...err...guards.

((Thanks! I didn't expect any tears... I'm writing surprisingly well, lately, and of course, all the boards I'm on are DYING. TT))

C.C. had no luck stifling her sobs as Hearltess left her to wallow in her cell, alone. I'm sorry, papa. I failed. The Queen is going to kill me, just like she killed you. Unbridled fury slowly replaced sorrow as the cat- THE Cheshire Cat, stood, determination clear on her face. But that doesn't mean I have to make it easy on her. Closing her eyes, Cat felt herself changing. The room seemed to grow enourmous, while in reality, she was merely shrinking. Her features and body became increasingly less human until, finally, a brown striped tabby with disturbingly golden eyes sat in the place of the girl.

The cat stretched lazily, and if one listened closely, they could've heard its spine creak slightly. I'm out of practice; it's been too long since I've used this form. She thought to herself, looking up at the barred window. No regular Wonderlander would have been able to fit- maybe a card guard, if they folded themselves tight enough.

Then again, she was no ordinary Wonderlander. Alley-oop. She thought, springing from the ground and landing ont the narrow ledge that served as the hold for the bars. Squeezing through with all the flexibility of, well, a cat, she hopped to the floor, padding down the hall. Now, I just need to find my way out of here... She cocked her head to the side as she heard a noise- a woman crying? Protect Wonderland... well, guess I'd better check it out. She thought, taking off toward the voice.

[Ack.. ]

"This way.."

A disembodied voice echoed around the hall, attempting to catch the attention of the new arrivals. It seemed as if the walls themselves had eyes that could see right through you, staring and staring until the hairs on the back of your neck stood all too straight.

"This way.."

There it was again. A slight chill of wind passed through.

"Come.. this way... "

Dominica furiously wiped the tears from her face. How much longer will she be trapped in this place? Hidden away from the denizens of Wonderland she was supposed to protect..

"If only my bel-- No! No, I can't.. think about that.." she continued to cry. Anything she knew, Desdemona would find out if she so much as thought about it. The Queen of Hearts refused to give in to that wretched woman without a fight.. but what could she do? She was just a prisoner of the Looking Glass she had treasured so, so long ago.

A strange voice wandered through the halls accompanied by chilly draft. "Anyone hear that?" Hat-T asked. But the woman didn't even wait for an answer before moving to track down the odd sound. However, she didn't know exactly where the voice was coming from and had to stop at the end of the mirrored hall to listen for the voice again. Where did it want them to go anyway? She looked back at her two companions with a questioning gaze.

[I always pictured Rabbit with a hat. Unless there's no hat in the shops :sweat: Looks like there's no bunny ears either, huh? :lol: I've been seeing quite a few Alice in Wonderland themed mangas pop up lately. Is it because of the upcoming live action movie? I've read 'Heart no Kuni no Alice' and 'Are you Alice?'. My bros and sis have read 'Pandora Hearts' :) Any manga or anime you guys saw that's also Alice themed?]

((On the look out for good ears and hat. "His" hair's a bit longer than I imagined it, too. :P And no . . . sadly, I haven't read any Alice themed manga or anime. :) The most recent thing I read was "Crimson Hero" and another one that's name escapes me . . .))

Rabbit adjusted his glasses before tilting his head to listen. "You're right," he muttered. "I hear it too." After listening for a few moments, he met Hat-T's gaze with his wide brown eyes. "What is it saying?"
His layered white hair flit about his body as he shifted uncomfortably, trying to catch on to what was being said.

"Come this way..." she replied before looking around the corner at the end of the hall. "But come which way?" Her rosy pink eyes scanned what was down the other way as well. Still no one aside from the usual odd decoration. While pondering what to do next, the hatter's thoughts meandered back to her friend Doormouse. Was it time to wake him for dinner or for lunch? It wouldn't be the first time she didn't wake him up to eat but still she worried.

((^_^ Oh yes. Now I can be classified as Rabbit. :XD I like it. :lol: One thing I think is funny about this Rabbit in the thread is the fact that he's so . . . fidgety. At points in time, he's utterly calm, but for the most part he's always moving or doing something out of nervous habit. Like a bunny. :heart:))

Following Hat-T, the white-haired youth listened for the voice as they traveled, almost eager to hear its beckoning call.

Alita takes a hold of Rabbit's hand as she glaces around trying to keep up with everyone and keeping a hold of Rabbit's hand. She didn't want to let ago and get lost in this place, she had a feeling it wouldn't be a good thing let alone that she'd probably never see her home again.
