Balthazar let his jacket fall from his shoulders, as he saw lyna turn into a wolf. His eyes widened, - I was right she isnt normal- then eh slowly looked back at the fire, with out a word he removed his sword at his hip and started to undue his leather jerkin. finally after he had undone the last strap he let it fall down also, one single black wing sat on his back. he kept it curled up and small not extending it.

((Its cool... I have writers block right now and im kinda pissed off at some of the other rpers so im gunna go to bed... Night both of you... <3 you both))

Ru Li sat at the edge of the camp, quietly observing the events that went on inside it. He made no move to speak to anyone within it, nor did his stare linger too long on any one particular person. He went back quietly to his reading, silently thinking. 'Lot of people here.' He turned a page, reading the words but none of them actually registering in his mind. 'Perhaps joining this group wasn't the best option I could have chosen at the time.' Ru Li did not like people; he was not very social to begin with, even less in small crowds. Making a quick decision, he tagged his page and stood up silently, putting it in his waist-pouch.

Carina watched the Shiloh and Lyna dragged a new comer into the camp. The fire highlighting his features but..something was amiss with hi. Furrowing her brows she looked at him closely finally noticing the single black wing that he had curled up to his back. Just as she was about to lean back against the tree she saw movement at the edge of the camp. "I'll be right back" she said to the three dusting off her skirts and walking over to Ru Li.

Ru Li did not notice the girl walk over to him; indeed, he was preoccupied with something else. Using the low light from the moon and from the fire in the camp, he had a map out and was reading it, plotting his next course of action. His gaze slowly wandered from town to town, across mountains and through forests, until it stopped on the Fire City, Xi Lao. He made a mental note of where he was going, folding up the map and putting it in his backpack once more--it was at this time that he noticed the Gypsy girl approaching him. He tried to ignore her but failed as she came closer. Heaving a sigh and brushing his hair out of his face, he asked a simple "Yes? What is your business with me?"; again sounding quite rude though he did not mean to.

Korin was both fascinated and somewhat afraid by the group of people she had been observing. There were so many more people in one place than she'd ever had to deal with before. And there was another shapeshifter! 'Maybe she isn't after me, doesn't know who I am at all... the ones who have chased me before were always in scary bear and crow forms. They couldn't laugh or make pretty figures.' Korin came to the decision to approach the man who was standing off to the edge of camp. 'It's best to start small. I think I'll handle one person at a time better.' Still in squirrel form Korin trotted towards the mans pack, past the other girl, and swished her tail past his legs. With a course of action in mind Korin always felt more centered and confident, even to the point of sitting on his shoe and squeaking at him. 'You're quiet, I like you.'

Ru Li looked down at the squirrel and blinked, at first believing that he was hearing a squirrel talking to him and having a moment of temporary insanity before he realized that it must be another shapeshifter. He reached down and stuck his hand out to the squirrel, letting it climb up on his arm and to his shoulder if it wished. "Well. Hello there. What's your name?" He asked the rodent [regardless if it climbed up or not], always having found it easier to talk to animals than humans--he was a gentle man at heart, just not good at talking to humans.

Korin immediately jumped up to the broad shoulder above her and settled into the comfortable perch, wrapping her tail around his neck under all of his black hair. 'My name is Korin, but it'd be great if you called me Ko.' She was so excited. This was not her first attempt to approach someone as an animal, but he was the first to readily accept her so warmly. 'Would it be alright if I asked your name?' Korin's shyness came creeping back as she tread ground she was so familiar too, but unfamiliar was good because what she was used to was all bad.

Ru Li reached up a hand to scratch the squirrel's head gently, giving a warm smile to it. "But of course. I'm Ru Li." He answers, sitting back down against the tree--deciding to stay with the group for perhaps a little bit longer. "It's a far eastern name, you see. I've been all over the world." He loved talking to animals, although they usually didn't respond to him; and as such, he was much more friendly to the squirrel than he was to anyone who approached him as a human. "So, Ko, where are you from? Any place in particular?"

Lyna gave up on trying to get the guy to apoligize, so she just walked off, she wouldn't admit to anyone that the real reason she was in animal form was because she didn't like talking and being a animal means she doesn't have to talk. She noticed the squirrel that she was thinking about eatting earlier over with Ri Lu and trotted over there towards them. When she got there she sat down in front of him, cocking her head to the left. "You know i wantted to eat you earlier i thought you were a normal squirrel." She said as she stared at the squirrel, she also wondered why Ru Li was over here instead of with everyone else. Giving that no further thought, she sat there pantting, and staring at them like any mormal dog, or wolf would at the moment.

Ko was surprised to feel the hand on her head, but her surprise quickly turned to delight as she realized she was actually having a pleasant conversation with someone other than herself or other animals, and she knew better than anyone that while animals made great silent companions, if you could actually talk to them you would quickly find that they lived very simply and this transferred to their mentality and speech. 'Real conversation at last.' Korin vaulted into questions full of excitement. "We're actually very close to where I think I came from. The town just past this one is where I met the first group of people. Are you from the east if your name is? Whats it like there? I've been to lots of places but I don't know what or where they were. What is where we are now called? Ah." Korin abruptly changed her speech style, willing herself to calm down and slow down. "I'm sorry, I was just so excited. I hope you don't mind all of my questions." The white squirrel showed dejection in her every posture.

Ru Li laughed quietly at the wolf in front of him. "Oh what, you want to be petted too? No problem." He reaches out his free hand and scratches the wolf on the head as he kept petting the squirrel, suddenly wondering why so many shape shifters were coming up to him suddenly. Going back to the squirrel's questions; "I'll answer those in the order they were pitched, then. No, you don't have to be from the east if you have an eastern name, but I happened to be born in the city of Xiao Ling." He paused at the 'what's it like', thinking for a brief moment before replying - "It's...different, there. More attention is paid to the social caste system. It's...tough, no matter what caste you are. Anyway, I do believe we're somewhere near the holy city of Alexandria, but I am not sure." He looked at the wolf again, scritching and scratching it's neck now. "I don't mind the questions, really. It's nice to talk every once in a while. Any other questions?"

Lyna was surprised she was actually being petted, it never happened to her before. It felt really good, she started to give a low almost a growling noise at the delight, wagging her tail back and forth, she didn't mind being ignored for once. She leaned against his legs almost putting all her weight on him, she laid her head in his lap at almost an odd angle for a wolf but at just the right angle for Ru Li to continue to scratch her. He was good with animals and it made her like him even more, her tongue started to hang out of her mouth. If anyone walked by they would have thought the silver wolf was his pet by the way she actted.

Korin's shyness was simultaneously replaced with happiness towards Ru Li and anger at the wolf who had approached her and effectively threatened to have eaten her. 'What normal squirrels are white in a forest when it isn't snowing?' She muttered to herself as she dropped from Ru Li's shoulder to perch on her hind legs on his unoccupied knee. "What is a... social caste system, and did you leave Xiao Ling because it? How did you end up here? While talking with Ru Li, Ko made sure to keep as much of her attention as possible on the shapeshifter behind her, but she couldn't keep herself from taunting her with swift swishes of her bushy tail back and forth.

"The system is...hard to explain, it really is." Ru Li looked up at the sky. "I'll tell you another time, Ko, but the basics are...there are certain jobs in the community that are either frowned on or looked highly upon. You're born into the caste, you take what job your father had...unless you pull a runner, like me. Just ran to get away from it all, and never really stopped." He laughed, then observed the two animals, narrowing his eyes at the squirrel. "Hey, stop that, Ko. I don't want you two tearing eachother apart..." He trailed off, hoping that the squirrel would understand. He scratched the squirrel's head like he was doing to the wolf, albiet more gently, hoping that they wouldn't fight.

Korin was slow to still her tail, but eventually did. "Your description makes sense. That's somewhat similar to what has happened to me. I have to travel because of something I didn't have any control of either. With a small yawn, large by squirrel standards, Ko moved to tuck herself into the bend of Ru Li's hip and leg. 'I haven't slept around others in a while, this is nice.' Once she was settled she realized that she felt safe and that she wanted to feel like this all the time. 'I don't want to be alone again. Hopefully I won't have to, hopefully they won't be able to find me anymore.

"If i felt like eatting you i would have already ate you, besides shifters taste bad. I should know i ate one that was trying to kill me. Your not her to kill me are you?" Lyna asked saspeciously to the squirrel, she licked Ri Lu's hand to show that she wasn't oveer there to be a bad person. She gave a sigh and put more weight against his leg. She closed her eyes, she liked Ri Lu and she was calm around him she didn't know why but it felt good. As she slowly relaxed she also slowly changed back into her fox form.

Ru Li continued petting and scratching the two shifters for a little while as they drifted off to sleep, basking in the silence of the night before he slowly closed his eyes as well. He was having a hard time keeping awake, though he didn't really want to fall asleep again--he had no choice, he soon discovered, as sleep overtook him. Soon he had dozed into a deep sleep, leaning against the tree-trunk, one hand gently on the squirrel, the other hand resting on the fox's head.

Carina watched the others slowly drift asleep across from her before looking up at the night sky. It was beautiful tonight with very few clouds in the clear to hinder the view of the millions of stars. Finally she laid down on the soft grass and fell asleep.

Which reminds me... Sorry for not posting guys... Ive been having horrible days.))

Shiloh watched the others and what they were doing. It was fun to watch Lyna compete with another Shifter for the petting posistion they were in with Ru Li. He actually looked like he was enjoying himself as well. She watched as Balthazar took off his jacket off and removed his sword as well as if he was getting use to this group of misfits. "So are you finally feeling like you can fit in here?" She asked him just wondering how he felt about the whole part of joining us for some reason which may have seemed unknown to him.

"I guess i can, but for no reason other then to train better." he said not looking up from the fire. "Why are you here?" he asked the shiloh. His mind was else where though as he looked into the fire, remembering all the days alone, his thoughts were racing but he also didnt know where else to go. Stay here was the best at the moment he thought.
