Rolling Fields o' Clover A quest for the Saint Patrick's EI sets by a redhead!
Hello and welcome once again to my quest thread! Here I am giving it a 2nd go at questing and this time around I'm gathering up the EIs for Saint Patrick's Day.
I know this time around I haven't been nearly as clever as I was with the other quest but alas! I cannot write in Gaelic. :( If you know some Gaelic please feel free to teach me! That'd be a donation enough since then I'd be able to spruce up the quest thread. :)
About Me
I am a stuck-at-home-mom who is undergoing treatment for Bipolar Disorder, type II. In my spare time I like to sew and read a lot of books that I hope are diverse and inclusive. Slowly but surely I am learning the French language and I have a bunch of cats. You could even say I'm well on my way to becoming the crazy cat lady.

Yeah, I know it's a little sparse right now but I'm of the opinion that this is a good foundation to start with. Hopefully I'll be able to add nifty banners to the posts and spiffy them up here soon. Make 'em shine real nice. I need to get crackin' on beefing up the empty sections too.
I think I'm going to change how the progress post is set up. Well, make an addition. I'm thinking about including an image of the item I'm focusing on along with the price and what I have saved up towards it along with an offer between the post title and the sentence "These are the items.."
Good luck on your quest! I just started my quest thread too.
I think images would help. I set it up in mine with the thumbnail of the item and what the item is called next to it. It turned out pretty nice in my opinion. Prices sound like a good idea too. It's something I wanted to put in mine, but my list became so long I decided not to because it would take forever. xD But with your list it would be completely manageable.
By the way, I like the vay you talk in the first post. xD
I had been pondering the idea of including prices, Twethereal, and had decided against it because of my unfamiliarity with the trends of the market on Menewsha but now that you've mentioned I may reconsider my decision. I know where to find the price guide in the Exchange subforum so it shouldn't be a problem and that guide should be the most reliable, I'd think.
Yay! Someone enjoyed my silly Halloween theme-ness! What could possibly be a better Halloween tradition than horrible Dracula-esque accents? Nothing, that's what!
I caught FMA on Cartoon Network's Adult Swim the first time they aired the dubbed version and then downloaded the series in fansubs my freshmen year of college. I've been itching to watch it again because I have the DVD of the movie The Conquerer of Shamballa and my partner has never seen the series so it was the perfect excuse to go through the entire series again with subtitles.
I really like the setting - maybe even more than the storyline - and if I could run a RPG in that kind of setting I think it would be amazing but now that everyone and their brother has seen FMA it's just not possible. Too many times the people who are attracted to that style of game think they can be as powerful as the Elric brothers, Edward especially, and completely disregard the Law of Equivalent Exchange or they want to be as snazzy as Roy Mustang.
The one thing that I really love about FMA that I feel sets it apart from a lot of other anime series is the character development. Far too often character development doesn't happen at all in a series or if it does the character mutates in such a way that violates the character's original values in life. That's not the case with FMA, I feel, and that's a big part of why I enjoy the anime so much.
I need to pull out my DVDs and start watching the series again. And I need to start watching FMA: Brotherhood. I had been waiting until they started the dubbed version. I have a hard time looking back and forth between the subs and what's going on onscreen. It'll be interesting to see how the two shows compare.
Yeah, people can get a bit carried away when creating their characters sometimes. They forget that people aren't perfect, so characters shouldn't be either.
I agree. The character development was very good. And the different relationships between people were really interesting to me as well. Particularly the amount of trust between Mustang and Hawkeye. And Lust intrigued me because I thought I had her pegged, but she ended up surprising me as the series progressed.
The whole series really does give you a lot to think about. I ended up caring about little side characters as much as the main cast. That's the sign of a good anime I think.
I'm so excited. I'm going to Otakon in July and found out that Vic Mignogna is going to be there. I'm really looking forward to meeting him. He's a very talented guy. I've been listening to a lot of his music lately. Lion's Dance is a really beautiful piece of music. :)
FMA is one of my favorite series with Vic being my absolute favorite voice actor. I haven't seen Brotherhood yet but I do plan on watching it when I can. Have you played the video games of FMA? I played the first one that was released on the PS2 and really enjoyed it.
I haven't yet. I was thinking about maybe getting one. What is that one like? I think I remember hearing that Square Enix made them and they haven't let me down yet.

I'm really curious about the FMA games too. I don't always like video games based on a series or movie but I've been looking for some new games to play too. *curious*
Yeah, it seems like sometimes they rush to put out the games before the movies come out and don't really put quality into them. There are some that are really good, but they are few and far between.
You would think that being made by Square Enix would automatically qualify a game for greatness but it just isn't always the case. I am a big fan of Capcom games, though. In particular the Castlevania games - I definitely prefer 2D to 3D when it comes to Castlevania.
The only Square Enix game that I've played that wasn't exceptional in my opinion was Children of Mana for the DS. But even then I liked the art and the gameplay was okay if repetitive. I'm really looking forward to playing Final Fantasy XIII. Although I think I'm probably still going to like Final Fantasy XII better at least character and plot-wise.
Castlevania is a good series. I've only played Portrait of Ruin and Order of Ecclesia though. But they were both really addictive. I got one of the other games on WiiWare but I haven't played it yet.
